Omega's journey

Well I hate messing about with my food - but I have updated the diary entry to show an analysis of yesterday's food. I will modify it a little and then go back to my routine of sticking to a pattern and varying the main meal.

hopefully the weight will start falling off a lot quicker soon now that you've analysed your food and know what changes you are going to make.

have a great day

;-)

*virtual chocolates and flowers*

Thanks for visiting. I hope that you both have a great day.

Angel

Well it is only a small change - but I got a new low 11st 7.4 lbs or 161.4 pounds.

Trevor

You are such a sweetie. Thankyou for my virtual chocolates and flowers. Virtual chocolates are so much more healthy - I can enjoy them without guilt. Happy Valentines Day to you too. In this age of sex equality I think it only fair that you get some virtual chocolates from me too. I hope some young lady gives you more than virtual chocolates this Valentines Day.

Take care
Love
Margaret

Congrats on the new low!!!!

Happy V-day! :hug2:

I hope the raisin issue gets sorted out. I think the increase in water is a good idea. With all the exercise you do each day, you need more water to stay hydrated. :)

I was watching BBC America here last night--that is a channel they get on satellite that my cable doesn't get. There was a show called Changing Rooms, which is very similar to one we have called Trading Spaces. Then I watched another show called the Catherine Tate (I believe this is correct) Show. Very funny. Then I got to see the British (original) version of the Weakest Link. That woman has a sharp tongue, eh? I was hoping for more comedies, b/c I love British humour. Oh well. :D

Hey Marg!!:waving:

Just stopping in to wish you a VERY happy V-day and I hope the husband is doing something EXTRORDINARY on this occasion of couples.

Thanks Kimberly. It may not be a lot lower - but any new low is worth having. Especially on a challenge weighing day! At least we both can record a low weight in the challenge. With a bit of luck and some fish tonight - maybe it will go lower again! Fingers crossed! It was worth me getting accidentally short on my calories yesterday. When I added everything up I needed more calories so am adding more protein and more fruit. If I can get a framework that works and is healthily balanced I can just get back to varying the main meal and it be business as usual.

As far as I can see if I bump my water up to 2.5 litres - I can do no more. It was a bit of a struggle the week of the challenge bonus but I managed it ok. Lets face it - 2 litres was a struggle at first. If I just determine to do it - I will get used to it.

I hope that you are having a good Valentine's Day. I must admit that we do little more than exchange cards these days - the joy of twenty something years together..... Maybe it means that I can claim that every day is like Valentine's Day for us! :)

So you have been watching British television and like our comedy. You may well be able to download some of our programs from BBC - bbc.co.uk homepage - Home of the BBC on the Internet under iplayer.
Also for channel 4 there is 4 on demand

Hi Rae

I am afraid that nothing particularly special goes on here. I did get a card though. I am pleased to report that hubby is sweet to me every day so I have no complaints really. Any girl is lucky to be treated so well after all these years together (hubby and I have been together for 23 years now).

I hope that you are having a lovely day too.

Take care

Thanks Janice. Our BMI is pretty much identical. I hope that you get a good result on the WW scales today.

Thursday 14/02/08

I have heard of a gym that is walking distance from home which has a lot of daytime exercise classes. It is more expensive than the other one but may be better for me if it saves the hassle of hubby not wanting me to go to classes that I want to go to. I shall find all the info so that I can make an informed decision when I change things about at Easter.

General Data:

Morning walk = 6.3 miles
Round the block = 6 times
Extra exercises = none
Weight = 11st 7.4lbs (i.e. 161.4 pounds)
Steps = 27,655
Distance = 10.69 miles
Remembered to take normal vitamin / supplements - have started taking extra vitamin C after doing a real age test identified that I would benefit from it
Continued my creaming regime – missed one bio-oil massage.
Continued ankle exercises

My Food / Drink:

For challenge need to count sodium content of food and keep daily total under 2500mg

total sodium for day = 1657mg

Aiming for 30g fibre
Fibre in raisins = 2.8g in 1 handful, 5.6g in 2 handfuls

Total 29.5
increased water to 2.5 litres

Total calories = 1548
which is only 9.6 times my weight

Still a little low! – need more fruit in future – e.g an extra clementine and pear

Thanks Angel. Unfortunately the salmon let me down again and my weight stayed the same! Never mind - at least I am still at my low weight.

Thanks Trevor.

Everything is fine here (apart from having to count my calories for the next week due to Kimberly's challenge and having to try and work out what I am going to eat and whether I can cope without my raisins!)

I hope that you have a great day too.

Your plan looks awesome Marg!! I hope it's all going well for you. You really do impress me with your milage. I don't know of anyone else who walks so much. I'm uberly proud of you! I bet you can walk ten times around my mall and not break a sweat. LOL.

I hope you're having an awesome day and by the end of it, you feel accomplished in one way or the other!

Hullo, Margaret! :D

Are you still speaking to me after I posted this week's bonus?? :biggrinjester:

Congrats on the new low!:hurray::hurray:

Your new plan looks good! I hope it gives you the results you want.

Thanks for the BBC links. I have always loved British comedies--back to the days of Keeping Up Appearances, Home to Roost, Barbara, Waiting for God, The Britas Empire etc. It seems the current BBC America likes to air a lot of reality shows, unfortunately. The one they seem to be showing all the time is that cook with the nasty tongue. I cannot think of his name, but he has 2 shows here in the States, so I don't know why they feel the need to air him on BBC America. I would prefer to watch shows that I normally can't get here. Oh well.

The new gym seems worth checking out. :)

Thanks for visiting.

Rae

Thanks for your kind comments on my food. I naturally tend to over-analyse things during times of change - and it can set me up for a big fall when I eat something that is bad while I am doing that. That is why I like to develop a basic plan. Then all that I have to do is repeat as much as possible and do no sums or analysis or anything. Once I sort it all out I am quite good at repeating the same stuff with just a main meal changing. Like everyone I have moments of weakness - but I am not nearly so bothered if I am not looking too closely at things. That is why I never normally count my calories.

I do tend to walk excessively. You have to remember that I do not run or play sports like you do. I do enjoy going to my aerobics classes. It is a good excuse for me to jump around and dance a lot.

All in all today is going pretty well thanks. I hope that your day is going well too.

Kimberly

As if we would fall out over calorie counting. If I wasnt willing to do it - I would have checked up front and not joined the challenge. In some ways the timing is perfect. At least no-one is in my team if I cannot cope. Also I had already questioned my raisins and am in the process of re-working my food so have counted calories for the last couple of days and would probably have done so for the next couple of days to get things set at the right level. I therefore have looked up quite a lot of the food.

I have decided to aim for 10 times weight (1620) on average which seems reasonable to me. I see that you have gone for 1650. The repeatable portion of the menu gives pretty much enough fibre so that should be ok. Also - I have identified what can be stripped back out so that I can resume a handful of raisins if necessary.

I have just done a whole heap of sums to check that 1620 should cover me for this repeat plus a number of main meals that I tend to have.

I am still waiting for some speeded up weight loss resulting from it - but we have to give these things a bit of time.

This is the link for the new gym that I am considering. I am very tempted but will go round nearer Easter and ask all about it.

You will see that they have one within easy walking distance. They seem to have a lot of daytime classes which are very tempting.

Hopefully you should be able to find some English TV via those links that can keep you entertained. I suspect that the uncouth chef is Gordon Ramsay. Hubby sometimes watches his shows.

Take care
Love
Margaret
