Omega's journey

Little did I know when I congratulated you on your new low, that it was a big milestone..:) Congrats again on a job well done. :hurray:

I honestly don't know how you can exercise as much as you do and only eat around 1600 calories and not feel starved..lol. Great job!

How was your weekend?

Have another milestone reaching week..lol

Thanks Rae, Trevor, Popcorn, Angel and Kimberly for visiting my diary and your words of congratulations. As so often happens when weighing every day - my weight went up the next day. It didnt go to the other side of eleven and a half milestone - but it did go up to it. Still - I have regained the territory and that is what counts while I am still being good. I hope that the weekend has gone well for you all - and that you have a good Monday.

Rae

I have a lot of fears and concerns about the whole concept of maintenance. I suppose because of the fact that I have had to lose such a lot. Even if I were to never make it to goal I am so much healthier where I am now compared to the old me. No-one appreciates how easy it would be to become morbidly obese as much as someone who has been there and done that. People who have always been thin think that it is almost impossible to happen to a normal person. When you have tried to deal with it for twenty years and failed you appreciate what a struggle it would be to do it again. The mindset has to be perfect and so much time has to be devoted to it or it is just never going to happen.

Popcorn

I am so pleased that things are working wonders for you. I felt sure that it would. It has done for so many of us here. It sounds like you have been doing a lot of walking while you were away last week.

Angel

You are doing so much better than me in the way of inches lost. The weight milestones will happen how they will (you are ahead of me there too) but you will hit the inch milestones months ahead of me.

Kimberly

I think that the big thing is what you eat for your 1600 calories. I certainly was having a lot more calories last week when I was having 2 big handfuls of raisins. I know that there are over 400 calories in each big handful of raisins (I am not talking a dainty small amount). Since I list all my food - feel free to copy what I eat for a day and see whether it makes you feel more full. I was already having a lot of cereal and veg. Now I am having a lot of fruit too.

The weekend was fine generally although weather-wise it was colder than at the start of the week. I did all my walks which takes up quite a lot of the day. The visit to the quack went well on Friday and she has updated my records. When I joined her practise I lied about my height and added an inch on (to improve my BMI a touch) and her scales were wrong on Friday. She put me on the scales and told me that my BMI was 26 point something. I didnt put her right. That means that my official BMI as far as the NHS goes is not far above normal. She was very pleased with me and filled in the form to investigate why my waist is the shape that it is.

Take care
Love
Margaret

Hey there Margaret,

Looks like all is good as always in here, I did a quick glance over and your food and cals look good...

I just wanted to drop in and say hey...I took a little break to deal with some personal stuff and now Im working on gettin back into exercise after not doing it for 5 days and workign on my food agian - I had a few stress eating days of not caring - time to recorrect it...

On a good note - I have already exercised 300 mins this week:)I struggled withthe sodium but did fairly well - hpwever go figure I gained - I must be on teh of the rare exceptions to gain while cutitn out sodium...ha ha ha

Hi Cerella

Thanks for popping by to encourage me.

I have come to realise that the human body is a mysterious thing and that sometimes there is no logic to the way that it functions. People that try to describe how it works in simplistic terms are missing at least half the picture.

Well done for getting back on track. We all have moments when we get a little off track at times - either with the food side or exercise (or both). None of us would have ever got to be big people if this wasnt the case. The exercise is so important to us. I swear that it does more than try to make our bodies healthier - it actually makes us feel happier.

I hope that your personal stuff is all sorted out now (or at least compartmentalised so that it no longer gives you grief).

We all have times where we gain a little weight - the big thing is not to let it divert your focus. With firm control of our food and regular exercise the weight does come off eventually - we are all living proof of that.

Take care
Love
Margaret

Milestone

Well I have hit the second milestone in three days. My weight today was 11st 5.6 lbs so that is 159.6 pounds. That takes me into the 150s.

I am rather pleased with myself.

Since I weigh every day I know how my weight wiggles about. I fully expect it to be the other side of this milestone tomorrow. The territory is however regained.

I saw your post in the 150's thread and came to congratulate you on that, but omg first time under 11 1/2 stone in TWENTY years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All your steady dedication is paying off in spades!!

A big CONGRATULATIONS, Omega. That is truly fantastic!!

Thanks Keepitoff83.

If truth be told - any month that I lose weight is a fantastic month for me. Indeed staying at this level and not piling on pounds is an achievement in itself for me.

Thanks Felici. I have been a big girl for a very long time. It is so nice to be returning towards more normal proportions.

I just wish that I had found a way to do it before I was 48 years of age. It would have been so nice to be this size in my late twenties or thirties. I tried lots of times but never got anywhere.

Tell me about it!! :D

Even now though, it's fantastic to have the extra freedoms of a slimmer shape isn't it? :D

Congratulations Margaret once again for making it into the 150's! Your doing such an excellent job, and before you know it, you will be at your goal weight! I hope you have a great day.

Trevor

YEY MARG!!! YOU GO GIRL!!

Congratulations! Just wait and see hon, you'll have the rest of that weight off in no time!! Wow, am I ever excited for you!!

I hope the beginning of your week is looking promising!!

(((big hugs!!)))

Thanks Felici, Trevor and Rae

It certainly is a joy to achieve such milestones. Whatever our age - it is always a delight to be a slimmer and healthier shape - one that we had pretty much convinced ourselves was for other people and not for us.

I had often got confused between "the impossible" and "the very, very hard to achieve".

I still have quite a way to go - a definite spare tyre surrounds my tummy and I have other fatty areas too - but I am determined to get there in the end.

I hope that you all have a great day.

You and me both hon. I always thought it was impossible for me to be concieved as 'normal', it took me a couple months to convince myself it *was* possible, I'd just have to work like hell for it. And now look at all I've achieved...

You'll definately get there in the end. As you said, no matter the age, it's a delight to be a thinner and healthier shape. You'll rock so hard, Marg. (You know, more than you do already...;)

Another milestone will come in no time, you wait and see. Big hugs, hon, and have a great day yourself!!

Wow Margaret - more congratulations! :hurray:
It won't be long before you're hitting the ten-stone-off mark. Well done! How I'd love to be 'normal' again, like you.
:lurk5:

Thanks for visiting.

Rae

I look forward to being where you are now. I cannot believe how quickly you are racing to goal. People say that the final pounds are the hardest - but you are cutting through them like a hot knife through butter.

Popcorn

Thanks. You will be there before you know it. All it takes is determination and staying power. Dont believe the people that say that we cant do it because we are not in the first flush of youth. The rewards are ours for the taking too.

Thanks Angel. Now we can both head for that eleven stone milestone. I think that you will definitely get there first.

I hope that you have a great rest of day too.
