Hey everybody, just got in from my 2 mile walk this morning...glad to see you all had stopped by. I walked with my daughter's aftershool teacher and it was her first time so we didn't go too fast, but surprisingly enough my thighs are tingling so I guess the pace wasn't too bad (though no where near my typical speed).

I feel really good about the experience because she and her husband moved here with their two kids and she's all alone (left all of her family back in Ga) and she's been really depressed and put on some weight. It just felt nice to be a support system for her, physically and emotionally...we all need someone sometime, ya know?

Here's my menu (as far as I've thought it through...which isn't very far)

I just looked at my signature line, it feels SOOO good to see that ticker has moved!! I'm doing my happy dance again! :D But no worries, I'm sticking around after the four pounds I'll need support and encouragement to help me keep it off...besides I love you guys too much to leave anyway!

YAY for your exercise!! Are you going to leave when you are done losing your weight?? I would be heart brokem!! At the rate you are going you will be done in NO time!!! You really are awesome! :)
 
Yes, yes, we have signed affidavits from everyone, they have to stay even when they hit their goal weight :D
 
Oh no, I'm not going anywhere...and I'm glad to see that you guys don't want me to. I got a PM when I first joined that said if I decided to abandon my membership there would be a fee of $100, and I'd have to give up my first born, my Curves membership and my internet service...none of which I'm willing to part with so...sorry, but you're stuck with me! :D
 
I forgot to tell you guys that I bought some weights from Wal-Mart last night. I got 2 five pound dumbbells and 1 ten pound dumbbell. So I did a little strength training with them a little while ago. I worked the following while holding a 5 lb weight in each hand: my biceps (4 sets of 25), triceps (2 sets of 15), side lunges (2 sets of 25 each leg), backwards lunges ( 2 sets of 25 each leg). I finished off with 100 bicycle crunches, my goal is to do 300 whenever I do them...but I was lazy tonight.

Earlier today my stomach was cramping me so badly (darn TMO) that I decided to go for a walk again today...my PE coach in high school always said exercise was the best thing for cramps, so I followed his advice. I grabbed my daughter and we headed for the lake. I walked my two miles (5 laps around the lake...two of which I carried my 62 pound daughter on my back!!!). It wasn't too bad on my back but maaan did my biceps get a work out from having to hold her butt up for .80 of a mile!! Wheww!

All in all I've been rather "physical" today and I'm rather proud of myself. I had planned to go for a walk around the neighborhood this evening but one of my girl friends invited us over for dinner...and who can pass up free food. I was so happy to find that this "southern cooking woman" altered the way she prepared food in honor of my weight loss journey. She cooked brown rice versus white, baked the chicken with bread crumbs ( to give it that fried texture) and bought organic corn! She even made low fat oatmeal raisin cookies with naturally sweetened apple sauce versus sugar. It was a very nice day despite the fact that I awoke with cramps that made me question if I had been kicked by a bulll in my sleep. :eek:

Just stopping by to see how your weekend went, and I would
say carrying your daughter on your back is some exersice been there
done that lol the problem with mine is once I carry 1 I have to carry all
3 and when my 4th gets older(lol he gets carried all the time)!Nice
weight program to , I have 3lb weights and I actually feel whimpy
using those I need to invest in the 5lbers or 10!Good luck to ya

I used to hit my complex weight room every Tuesday and Thursday (my arms look really nice!) but I got slack after I hit that plateau. Having them at home is great because I can't work out right in my bedroom. You'd be surprised at how heavy those 5's get when you hold them for at least 35 minutes! They start to feel like 50 lbs! :p

I'm going to add strength training back into my daily schedule, but this time everyday versus 2 times a week. I think that's what really made the difference the last time.
