No more mooing for me! Disneymomof4's weight loss diary.

I'm a newbie here and have just got done reading your diary. Your journey is really interesting and I'm finding all kinds of good recipes and other ideas.

Like you, I have four children. I'm not a single mom, but my husband is often gone for weeks at a time because of work, so I know what it's like to have to manage all alone.

Anyway, congrats on getting well into the 190's!! I hope to join you by the end of this month!

Thanks everyone for the kind words and Rox, I am happy to meet someone with four children. If you were able to get anything from my diary I am glad.

So, I have been a total slacker as far as my diary is concerned and I feel awful. Not much has changed around here. I am still losing although not as quickly as in the beginning. I still have not had a single day where I have binged and gone over my calorie limit and I am pretty proud of that.

Now, for what I am not proud of. I have not even started exercising. It is like I can't bring myself to do it. I know I need to as part of a new healthy lifestyle and I know it will make the weight come off faster and tone me up, but I always find an excuse not to do it. I think I need to get up early and do it as my excuse later in the day is that I am just too tired. If I could just get started and make it part of a routine it would be so much easier as time went on.

Official weight as of right now is 194. Like I said, it is not going nearly as fast as it was in the beginning, but that is to be expected I guess. Hoping to be down another 10 pounds by the end of June though, if I could start exercising I know that would definitely be possible. Every day gets me closer to my goal though, so I will keep marching on like a good little soldier lol.

Happy Memorial Day to all and good luck in your own weight loss journeys.

Good job on the eating!!! Don't you wish you could just wake up, pres pause on the clock..get your exercise done and the restart the clock so that you can fit your usuall stuff everyday plus the exercise without missing a beat! I have been thinking about exercising in the morning myself that way it's done and you can move on with your day! Then I think that in order to do that I have to get up at 4 am! Needless to say I have not convinced myself to do it yiet!

Good job on eating with in your cals and you have lost some more lb so that is good! As far as exercise my only exercise for the last couple of weeks as been going for walks That got me started now I am looking for more I am more motivated, so I guess what I am saying is start slow, and buildup from there!

Good to see you on here!

Are there normal every day jobs that you usually drive to? Like the food shop or taking the kids to school or such? Maybe walking instead of driving? Or just a DVD at home. Gillian Micheals 30 day shred is only 20 mins long and SUPER intense but it wont take much time and you can fit it in before bed :D

The only place I drive to each day or even regularly is the kids school and it is about 3 miles away. While I would not mind walking, I live in the country and there are no sidewalks here. The road just runs right off down into a ditch, so not a very safe walking environment for the boys.

I was doing running on the treadmill in the afternoon when the boys were in school and that worked well. Now that they are going to be out as of Friday, that would not work as they will all be running around bugging the living tar out of me.

My only option during the summer at least, is to get up extra early and find something that I can do quietly in my room. There is no way the treadmill will work as it is noisy as all get out and I would like for them to sleep as long as possible lol.

That is the only reason I miss a man in my life. Even a minute bit of help and relief is better than none. Of course, then I would have to deal with all of the other issues that come along with men, so I think I will stay single. :) Thanks for the kind words and ideas ladies! I know I will figure something out.

I completely sympathize and I hope you can find a solution. It's so hard to exercise when you are on your own with young kids! I remember trying to keep on doing my step aerobics tapes at home when my kids were small. The twins would be crawling all over the step, completely uninterested in tehir toys and each other. Even when I had an old step just for them, they always wanted the one I was on. ..Let's just say it was hard to exercise efficiently. lol

You could probably at least do toning exercises quietly in your room. Crunches, lleg-lifts and some work with weights. Even if you don't have and can't afford weights, you can use big cans of food and water bottles as you start out. I did that for a while. Or if you are lucky, you can find some used- maybe on ebay or in a garage sale.
Just an idea to try out :)

Congrats on sticking to your eating despite not losing as much as you'd hoped. You have the right to be proud. I'm in the same boat, btw. I'm sticking to 1000 a day and still not losing well...but it's not going to get me down. Like you, I'm pretty stubborn, I guess!

And if steady exercise is not in the cards right now, don't feel too awful. People keep telling me that eating right is the main thing.

Anyway, best of luck!!

I have just as hard a time working out!! I bought a skipping roap but that wakes the kids up if I do it inside and I tought of using it outside lol I live on main street with a restaurant right across the road I can just imagine me skipping roap on my front porch and the people staring at me from across lol!
I mostly try to do crunshes and push ups and lift weight that is quiet enough!
I know you live in the country but if they are any play grounds around you can google jungle gym workouts that are fun and can be challenging to do, while the kids play! My kids are still to young for me not to follow them around but I think yours a little bit older then mine but I could me mistaken! Good Luck!

OMG! The scale has started to move again. Praise the Lord!!!!!!!!!!

I was about to go crazy over here with that stupid scale stuck right around 194. It has finally moved and I am down 2 pounds in the last week. Funny enough, I think the movement has been directly a result of me eating the maximum of my allowed calories each day. I was staying about 200-300 calories under my allowed daily calories for whatever reason and the last week or so I increased it and surprise the scale moved.

Anyway, just wanted to update the fact that the scale is on the move again and that I can now comfortably sit outside in the Florida sun on a summer afternoon without dieing. I guess the extra 32 pounds of insulation was the reason for my inability to stand the heat before.

Good luck and tons of motivation to all.

Congrats on the loss and being able to stand the florida heat!!! Good thing you mentioned the heat in June cause you would get no sympathy from me if it was freezing mid Jan weather here lol!!! Mabe that was the reason I put on the pounds because I didn't want to be cold!!!

I'm SO happy for you! that's great news! You are going to be in the 180's in no time.

And being better able to stand the heat is a good side effect!

It's interesting that you broke the plateau by eating the max of calories allowed by your eating plan. You've got me thinking that i should try that. I am always so careful to eat well below my allowance... maybe I'd make more progress if I ate a bit more than I do now.

I hate it when the scale just gets stuck at a number and doesn't want to budge. I had that at 206 and 187. I officially hate those numbers now.

Grats on the loss! I've noticed that eating close to my calorie limit seems to result in good loss as well. My guess is it has something to do with keeping your metabolism up, but I really have no idea. Maybe our bodies just hate us and like to confuse us, lol.

32 pounds is great! And I hear you on the heat thing. I've noticed that I don't mind the heat as much either, which is great because I could never stand any temps over 75. I fear next winter though! I'll be missing my squishy, squishy insulation then.

Alright, so I have been sticking to the diet, but that dang scale has been moving mighty slowly lately. I have started to exercise but I still hate it. Hopefully it will give me the push I need to make that scale keep moving though. Here are some updated pics of April and then today. I am a little sad because I don't really notice almost 4 months worth of a difference, but at least it is something.

Hey you are back!!!! So glad to see you are still on here! There is difference your hips look like they are narrower (Spelling??) don't give up you can do this!!! Hope to see you on here often, but I get that with 4 boys you are one busy lady!!!! Take care!

WHAT! I can TOTALLY see a difference. Looking great! Just don't give up and quit, you've been doing an amazing job. Speaking of which- I miss ya here!

I think your waist loks narrower, to. You look very shapely and wonderful!
Great job.
Sorry I haven't been around much lately, but I'll try to check up more often now that vacation is nearly over for me.
