No more mooing for me! Disneymomof4's weight loss diary.

Hey! Just caught up on your diary. Congrats on the loss so far! Sorry to hear about your knee - I had a hard time when I began running (I did a similar program as C25K) but my problem was shin splints! I feel your pain about wanting to work out but having to wait for the pain to go away first! The exercise bike sounds like a really great alternative, though. I noticed you ordered your hamburger without mustard. Just wondering, do you not like mustard? Yellow mustard has zero calories - I use this as a trick sometimes when I'm trying to cut back calories. If you like it, throw some on your subs from Subway for a little extra zing! :) Keep up the good work, you're doing great so far!

Eeek you look great in your pics. Do you notice any physical changes in your body shape yet?

You're dating a guy who's super ripped?
I bet that's motivating.
dont ever let looking at his hot bod make you feel bad about yourself.
If he didn't think you were sexy as hell, he wouldn't stick around.
Stay motivated.

You sound really positive and you're making such great food choices.

Thank-you for the nice comments. I have noticed a big difference in my stomach area actually. It used to be a lot worse. I am in the horrid in between stage with my jeans right now. My 14's are sagging even when I first put them on, but I have not quite lost enough to get into the 12's yet. Hopefully by the end of April I can switch over.

He is ripped, but it is because he is active literally all dang day. He doesn't try to make me feel bad about it, but if I am already down sometimes it gets to me lol.

skkroll - I just hate mustard LOL. I also hate mayo so that helps cut down on calories too. Thanks for the encouragement and I am sorry that you had to go through the pain too. I think the worst is over and I will just be more careful from here on out.

Thanks Jess393! The thing is, that the food I make is really easy cook. All I had to do yesterday was through frozen chicken breasts, a can of black beans and a jar of salsa into a crock pot on high for four hours. A half hour before it was done I tossed in a pack of fat free cream cheese. I heated a can of refried beans, threw some chicken on a tortilla and dinner was served lol. I like the crock pot because if I wait until the evening to cook I never feel like doing it.

will DEFINITELY be trying the crock pot recipes. I'm a huge fan of all things that make life easier :)

Today is going well. I was able to get a pretty good workout in yesterday and it went well. My knee isn't too bad today, so I think I will stick with the videos and then work back into walking. When there is no more swelling or pain with my knee I will start the couch25k challenge over again. I am nothing if not stubborn and determined lol.

There were some slight changes in my diet yesterday evening. Someone offered to watch the boys for me last night so I could go out for a few hours so I made them pizza and ate later. My calories for the day ended at 1126 after exercise.

Today I plan to do a video and maybe walk for a half hour on the treadmill if my knee is still okay after the video. I also want to do free weights for my arms. They are flabby lol. We will see how it all works out with the deadline I have coming up.

Breakfast: 2 slices pepperidge farm swirl bread 160 calories
Lunch: Digiorno 200 calorie pizza and an apple
Snack: 100 calorie Jolly time kettle corn (on sale for $1 a box at Publix now!)
Dinner: going to try and get those cabbage rolls done today lol. 464 calories
Snacks: 2 slices pepperidge farm bread and two hershey's kisses

Happy to hear you knee is getting better! I hope you can get back into the C25K program soon. You will absolutely LOVE running once you complete it! You should even try to sign yourself up for a local 5K run/walk if there are any in your neighborhood! That's what got me into running :) Your eating and calories look good, but if I may interject I notice that you eat a lot of the same foods from day to day and right now it may help you as you are keeping your calories pretty low, but sooner or later your body will get used to it and your weight loss might stall! Try to mix things up a bit as much as possible :) Always keep your body guessing! Anyway, have a great day, TTYL ~ Sarah

Thank-you for the advice and I will definitely keep that in mind. The reason for the same foods is because I am a huge coupon user and when I find something that is super cheap or free I buy a ton of it. Like the pepperidge farm bread, I bought about 10 of the loaves about a week ago and froze some. Once I go through those I will move on to something else. I will try to mix it up more from now on though.

In other news, none of my old jeans fit any longer unless I am fond of going around holding them up with one hand. So, I dug around in the closet and found some of my old smaller jeans and they fit! Hopefully by the end of the month these will be too big as well and I can move down to my even smaller jeans lol.

Congrats on getting into smaller clothing! That's the best feeling!

I can totally relate to eating the same things... my hubby and I are bad about getting on a kick and having the same thing every other night. Not anymore though. I'm trying to improve my desire to be adventurous in the kitchen. Hopefully I won't be sorry ;)

Keep up the good work! I want to wear my smaller clothes!

Thanks Mae! I am really going to make an effort to eat differently and it is great getting into clothes that have not fit in a long time.

I did end up working out again yesterday and the right hand side of my torso is so so sore lol. I have been working with weights on my arms, since they are so flabby but I was having trouble taking the time out to do it. So, I had the brilliant idea to place the weights in the bathroom and every time I go in there, I do sets of 10 of four different exercises designed to work the back of the arms. That way I make time.

Breakfast: Kashi Heart Healthy Oatmeal
Lunch:2 egg and onion omlette without cheese, 2 slices turkey bacon and 1 packet Kashi oatmeal.
Dinner: Lettuce cups with 4 oz. ground turkey, carrot shreds and onions with 1 cup parboiled long grain rice.

Maybe it's just me, but that's an excellent idea. I hope you don't mind if I steal that one.

Steal away lol. I don't know whether it makes sense to anyone else, but it works for me.

Came in at 1247 calories yesterday and am on track to reach the same today. I am a little bummed today. Just kind of down and my plans for this weekend have sort of been ruined so not much to look forward to in the next few days. I have managed to stay on track with my weight loss plan though so I guess I should be thrilled. Hoping I will get a chance to weigh on Sunday, as the weekly weigh in really helps keep me motivated.

Today I had Jumbo Crispies with fat free milk for breakfast, leftovers for lunch and will make a healthier version of Shepherds' pie with ground turkey for dinner. I am going to try and get back on the treadmill for the first time today. Only walking at 3 mph. I will try for 30 minutes, but if my knee gives me trouble I will quit early. Will keep up the strength and weight training too for 15 minutes a day.

Have a great day all!

About the sheperds pie! I substitute the ground beef for tofu I put in some low sodium soy sauce to colour it a bit and it's really tasty, I know most people are afraid of tofu but I tought I would mention it!!!

It must be so great to fit into those older clothes, I have to go through my closet to see if some of my older work pants now fit cause my favorite work pants are officially falling off me I don't even need to undo the zip to put them on so I got to retire them! Sad but not lol!!!

I hope you get excellent result at your weight in see you next week!

Hi Disneymomof4! I just read your dairy and I think it's amazing how you decided to change your lifestyle then just did it.... That is great. SO many people struggle to do that (me included). Congrats on all your weight loss. If you keep up the good work you will surely reach your goal. Good luck this week!

Thank-you for the tofu idea, I may have to get brave enough to try it. The problem lately has been making things that I can eat and that the boys will actually put in their mouths. As I mentioned earlier in the diary, I absolutely detest salads unless they are full of junk, so cooking something for them and then making myself a salad for dinner is not an option.

mrskt20- Thanks so much for visiting and for your kind words. I am working really hard as I know everyone else is and sometimes I am just kind of amazed that I didn't do this four years ago.

I missed posting on the weekend because I was super busy. The man I am dating has five children, so when you add his five to my four we have quite a house full to entertain for the day. Yesterday was a pretty emotional day for me and I am happy to report that I was able to stay on track, when usually on a day like that I would have caved in and ate to cover my emotions.

Sorry to report that I was not able to get to my mom's this weekend so I could not weigh myself. Next Wednesday I get my bog check so I will go out and buy a brand new scale that will hopefully reveal a weigh loss of five pounds or more since my last weigh in.

For the sake of reporting, my calories were as follows for the days I missed reporting.

Saturday: 1132
Sunday: 1169
Monday: 1158

The totals above are my net after getting credit for exercise if any was done. I am stepping back on the treadmill today for some fast walking, although I do not believe that I will be able to run for a while longer. Wow, that was long! Have a great day all!

Don't tell them you switched it. I mean, if it's something you've had before, they'll just assume that it's the same as last time. Bet they don't even notice.

And holy cow, 9 kids in your house at once!?! Is it still standing? You had to have gotten a workout in all of that. lol

I am not that dumb, we were at his house lmao. It is still standing though. Actually the boys are actually better behaved when we are with his kids because there are more of them to interact with and they are not picking at and fighting with each other.

We always run around outside, go for walks and fishing too, so I suppose we get some exercise in but I don't count it lol.

Okay, so first for the sort of good news. I had a weigh in day today because I finally was able to get to my mom's house. I lost another 5 pounds and have now lost 16 pounds total and weigh in at 208 pounds. I have been having nightmares that the scale would go up instead of down, but I know that is not possible because of the deficit in calories. I was hoping for more of a weight loss since I have not had a weigh in since the 4th, but I am happy with the 5 pounds.

Now for the bad news. I was really really tempted with food for the first time today since starting my weight loss journey. It wasn't even because I really wanted a certain something, it was because I am so upset right now and I almost fell right back into my old pattern of stuffing my face to make the emotions go away. Literally, I was standing at the freezer door with food in my hand and I just walked away. I had to tell myself that no matter what was going on it is not worth throwing away all the progress I have made.

So, then I had to decide whether I would drink or eat lol. I chose to have four Smirnoff Ice bottles after I dropped the kids off at my mom's and had a small dinner. I hardly ever drink, but let's just say that today I needed to. I didn't go over my calories though, so its all good. Tomorrow will be back to normal and at least I can be proud to say I didn't slip. Good luck to all and keep motivated!

Looks like I got my one extra pond in anyway! I weighed myself again today when I went to my moms to pick up the boys and it was down to 207 today. I am not going to count it as an official weigh in or anything, but it still felt nice and sticks to my 3 pound a week weight loss goal. I know in the coming months it is likely to only be 10 pounds or less for an entire month, but I will take the 3 pounds a week while it lasts lol. That is about all to report today. Stuck well within my calorie limit for the day and fit in some walks and Basketball with the kids. Have a great night all!

16 lb Wow!!!! You are doing great!!!!:hurray: It's good that you where able to stop yourself from emotional eating, it's not an easy thing to do!!!!

If you do decide to try the tofu in your sheperds pie I suggest that you freeze the tofu for 24hrs and once you thaw it out squeeze all of the water out of it, the texture will be closer to ground beef, ( I used a fod processor so break it down into little pieces but mashingit with a fork works too) and I use soy sauce to colour it cause white tofu with white potatoes does not look good, plus it replaces salt ( I use a low sodium soy sauce)

That is so awesome advice. I still don't know if I am brave enough to try it out, but if I decide to at least I will know what to do now!

Okay, so I bought a new scale today and since I was at home in my own bathroom I weighed myself without clothes and the new scale said 200.8 and I was like what? So then I asked for help on the forum and put my clothes back on and it said 205.7, which means my clothes weighed almost 5 pounds and it is what I normally wear. So, that means I have lost more than I thought I did, as my before weight of 224 was on my old scale without clothes before it broke.

I am almost out of the 200's and have lost almost 24 pounds. I can hardly believe it, but it feels so good! I have a feeling the weight loss might slow down from here on out, but I hope it doesn't. I will not adjust my ticker until Sunday though, since that is weigh day and I hope to be under 200 for the first time in 4 years!

Food today:

Breakfast: skipped because I took the boys to school and went straight to the store.
Lunch: one serving of left over tuna tetrazini 451 calories
Snack: Ritz Crackerfuls 130 calories
Dinner: At our local Wednesday restaurant. Will be one hamburger steak patty (small), gravy, 1 cup rice, 1/2 cup green beans, 1/2 cup lima beans and a dinner roll.

Total calories for the day: 1217 calories
