No more mooing for me! Disneymomof4's weight loss diary.

I'm obsessed with the scale...

Also, I was not able to weigh myself on Sunday as planned because my scale has died. I tried to buy one yesterday, but they didn't sell them where I went. The boys are out of school this week, so it will be a few days before I make it back into town to get one. I hoping to be down at least another two pounds through just the diet alone, but we will see.

The battery in my scale died this morning and I am freaking out!! I just journaled about it! Ugh, apparently I rely on those numbers way too much!! How often do you weigh in?

I know how you feel ladfoodaholic! I only weigh in every Sunday, so it has been the 21st since I have weighed myself. It would just be really nice to know that I am headed in the right direction, especially not being able to exercise the last few days.

Hello

I wanted to thank you for visiting my diary and I decided to get all caught up with yours. you seem like you have a great plan going, I know the exercise thing is annoying but last time I had lost lots of weight I lost like at least 15lb before I even started to exercise, so just do what you have been doing and you should see some results....
Wow 4 boys all to yourself, That should be a workout all to itself. I will keep reading to see your progress.

Thanks for stopping back in. Yes, I am still losing weight, but it is frustrating not to be able to do what I want lol. I will keep plugging away though.

I weighed myself at my mom's house yesterday and I have lost another 3.5 pounds since the 21st, which is pretty good I think since I have not been able to do much since last Wednesday.

Next week I will be purchasing an exercise bike, as my knee is only getting worse and not better. I want to do something, but I don't want to ruin my changes of being able to run in the future so I will just change it up for now. I appreciate all the support.

Forgot to add that I ended up with Subway for dinner last night, a turkey foot long with only veggies and no sauces, so I came in at 1235 calories yesterday. Tonight is our family meal out at a country buffet again, so I normally just eat a plate of veggies, a dinner roll, and maybe some rice and gravy.

Breakfast: 2 slices whole grain PF swirl raisin bread 160 calories
Lunch: 1 cup Uncle Ben's Parboiled long grain rice and 4 oz boneless skinless chicken 315 calories
Dinner:

Thanks so much! No, I have not been to a DR, because while the boys have insurance I do not. I am icing it, taking Ibuprofen and everything else, but it just does not want to feel better. I guess I will just wait it out and eventually go in if I can't take it anymore.

Ughh, yesterday was just one of those emotionally draining days that I would rather not deal with. I try not to whine about my situation, but sometimes I just get really tired of doing everything under the sun myself with no break LOL. Anyways, today is better and I was able to stay on track yesterday so no harm done.

I ended up having a cup of lima beans, a few ounces of green beans, half a cup of rice, a tablespoon of brown gravy, a golf ball sized hamburger steak and a roll for dinner at the restaurant last night. My total calories for the day was 1243.

Today I am going to hobble out of the house and take the boys to a Spanish mission place in town since it is their spring break. I still can't walk normally, but I can't see it doing too much harm to just walk around somewhere. So, at least I will get some walking in today.

Breakfast: 1c. Jumbo crispies and 1/2 c. fat free skim milk 130 calories
Lunch: Probably a 6 in. turkey sub from subway and an apple for a snack
275 calories
Dinner: 1 serving of Tombstone extra cheese pizza and two servings of wheat thins 650 calories

Total: 1155 calories for the day.

Haven't planned dinner yet. I know we need to go grocery shopping on the way home and I have healthy meals planned for the week like cabbage rolls with ground turkey, lettuce cups, and low fat chicken crock pot meals.

Explain cabbage rolls with ground turkey to me... I am intrigued!

I really hope you are able to just take some time to rest your knee!! How long has this pain been going on for? I also don't have insurance, but my dad is a (retired) family practice doctor, so I run all my ailments by him! When I was having some awful hip pains he told me just to avoid doing more than I absolutely had to for a while so it could try to repair itself. Make those boys be your slaves for a few days! :reddevil:

LOL That's not going to happen. I wish though. It has been hurting since last Wednesday, but when I took the boys to the park today I noticed that as long as I am on a solid surface I can walk through the pain and it actually lessens. It is just when it is jolted out of place that it gets worse. I may start trying to walk it out on the treadmill at a slow pace each day.

Cabbage rolls are super easy. You just combine a pound of ground turkey (uncooked) with an egg, as much rice as you like and some salt and pepper. You then boil water take it off the burner an soak the cabbage leaves for a few minutes. Take the leaves out, wash and drain them carefully. Then section out the meat and wrap it in the leaves. I usually use thread to tie around the roll to keep it in place. I place mine in a crockpot cover in tomato paste and water and cook on low for about 4-6 hours. It is really simple but yummy an two rolls only have about 200-250 calories for every two rolls you each depending on how much rice you use.

Happy Friday Everyone! Well, spring break is almost over for the kids, the Easter bunny is completely ready and I will be able to breathe again next week. All is right with the world today.

I am loving this new way of life. I get to lose weight, look better, feel better and still enjoy the foods I used to love. I just have to look at how I eat them in a different way. Yesterday, I had enough calories left in my daily limit so I ate Tombstone extra cheese pizza with the boys for dinner. I am happy to report that I had a full 1/4 th of a pizza serving, a serving of wheat things and an apple and only came in at 1155 calories for the day. I enjoyed what I ate all day and never felt like I was cheating or setting myself back!

Breakfast: two slices Pepperidge Farm Swirl raisin bread
Lunch: McDonald's hamburger happy meal no mustard and diet coke 480 calories
Dinner: Mongolian Beef Noodle Dish made with Ground Turkey and a serving of brussel sprouts. 470 calories
snacks: pepperidge farms swirl raisin bread

Total calories: 1270

I think the reason I have been so successful this time around is because I have adjusted the amount I eat instead of forcing myself to eat things I hate. Like rabbit food. Do I look like a rabbit? I don't think so, so why would I want to eat like one? :willy_nilly:

Went shopping with the kids yesterday and they begged for McDonald's, so I had a hamburger happy meal for lunch. Surprisingly, there are less fat and calories in the happy meal than in their specialty salads and I enjoyed it more so it all worked out. I didn't go over on calories or fat and I had a treat.

Today is a pretty busy day I am taking the boys Easter egg hunting, to the park, home to color eggs and then later tonight I have a date LOL. Have to have some mommy time after all. I will definitely get in 30 minutes or more of walking today so at least I am doing something.

I woke up in the middle of the night the other day because my knee hurt so bad so now I am icing it and taking Ibuprofen regularly to try and get it better as soon as possible. Tomorrow is weigh day!

Breakfast: 2 slices pepperidge farm swirl bread 160 calories
Lunch: 1 serving 200 calorie Digiorno pizza and an apple 265 calories
Dinner: ended up skipping by accident.

So how has weigh in day been??? :coolgleamA:

P.S. I really hope the icing helps your knee recover!!
P.P.S. Good job staying on track with your food through this weekend of caloric indulgence!!

Thanks Ladyfoodaolic! I have been able to stay pretty much on track. Yesterday I let me calories dip way way too low and it was simply because I was so busy and didn't want to just grab junk. By the time I had time to think it was so late. I ended up with about 400 calories for the day which was my lunch and an apple later. Definitely not something I tried to do, but it happened none the less.

As for today, I had one jelly bean and three bites of a strawberry cake lol. Plus I had an apple, 6 oz. of spiral ham, green beans and a half cup of baked beans. I also had two slices of pepperidge farm swirl bread for a snack and my calories are now at 968. I will probably have a serving of digiorno 200 calorie pizza and an apple in a few minutes so I will end the day at about 1200 calories for the day.

Weigh in day was great! I am down another 3 pounds to 212 for a total loss of 12 pounds in 3 weeks. I am so happy and to make it even better it has all been done through a lifestyle change that I can maintain for the rest of my life!

Thanks so much for your comment doubleclick. I started this diary to keep myself accountable each day, but I am super happy if I can help others! Thanks for the motivation everyone and Happy Easter.

Congratulations!! Down 12lbs in 3 weeks? That's AMAZING.
You must be thrilled.
You ate really well today.
Keep this up, girl.

Wow 12lb in three weeks that is so great....ok i am bit jealous ;) but still very happy!!! you are doing great keep it up and thank you for your kind words on my journal!

Thanks again doubleclick and Verobc. I am :willy_nilly: to see the weight come off so fast, but I know it is only a matter of time until I hit a wall.

On the plus side, my knee if finally feeling a lot better and I hope to be able to at least do some light walking or a low impact exercise video in the next day or two. I definitely want to start back slow, but I am dying to start moving again!

Breakfast: 2 slices Pepperidge farm swirl bread 160 calories (I'm addicted)
Lunch: Digiorno 200 calorie pizza and a gala apple 275 calories
Snack: Apple
Dinner: Crockpot chicken meal served on two small tortillas with a side of fat free refried beans. 612 calories
Possible snack: Ritz Crackerfuls 130 calories

Total for the day if I include the late snack is 1242 calories.

Okay, I really can't believe I am going to do this, but I am going to post some pictures that I took today. You are going to have to excuse the dirty mirror. It is from the boy's bathroom and I had no idea it was so dirty until after I uploaded the pics lol. I hate to even have to look at these, but maybe they will help to hold me accountable.

All of your food sounds so delish! I'm kinda jealous: I don't REALLY cook, so if its not super easy, I generally don't eat it, lollll.
12lbs in 3 weeks is amazing, ESPECIALLY with 4 kiddos. Very inspiring, as I have no kids, haha!
Here's my bit of advice, mostly cuz both of my knees are pretty aweful, too, but take fish oil. It helps lubricate the joints and works wonders for cutting down the knee pain. It took me about 2 weeks to notice it, but its helped a ton.
Keep up the great job!

Thanks Jess393! The thing is, that the food I make is really easy cook. All I had to do yesterday was through frozen chicken breasts, a can of black beans and a jar of salsa into a crock pot on high for four hours. A half hour before it was done I tossed in a pack of fat free cream cheese. I heated a can of refried beans, threw some chicken on a tortilla and dinner was served lol. I like the crock pot because if I wait until the evening to cook I never feel like doing it.

Thanks for the great tip on the fish oil. I will definitely try it out. I am going to rock a work out video today and will report back tomorrow how it went.

A small vent warning! It is really frustrating to be dating someone who is totally ripped. Of course it is lovely to look at, but it makes me feel like such a slacker. I guess I will have to step it up a notch, but it can get a little discouraging. Of course, if that is the least of my worries then I am doing pretty good.

Came in at 1207 calories yesterday and will be about the same today. It is amazing to think back and realize that only three weeks ago I would have opened a bag of 40 Totino's pizza rolls for lunch and ate them all myself and now I have no problem making the right decisions for myself. Just puts things in perspective.

Breakfast: 2 slices Pepperidge Farm Swirl Bread 160 calories
Lunch: Leftover 6 0z. chicken from last night and 1/2 c. refried beans 326 calories
Dinner: digiorno 200 calorie pizza and two slices pepperidge farm bread 360 calories
Snacks: Great Value fruit and grain bar 130 calories

Total with snacks would be 1120 calories, but I always leave a little room for error when adding up the individual ingredients in my meals since they aren't made from recipes with included nutritional value.

Stay strong everyone and have a wonderful day!

Eeek you look great in your pics. Do you notice any physical changes in your body shape yet?

You're dating a guy who's super ripped?
I bet that's motivating.
dont ever let looking at his hot bod make you feel bad about yourself.
If he didn't think you were sexy as hell, he wouldn't stick around.
Stay motivated.

You sound really positive and you're making such great food choices.
