newmommy1's diary

Congrats on your new baby! My youngest (#4) is 4.5mo now. It sounds like you & I have some things in common... I was also hospitalized, although not for the same stuff, for almost 3weeks after this delivery! I know how hard it is to be away from a new sweet baby immediately after having them in your life. Did the doctor ever find out about her leg tremors? I read through your diary, but I might have missed it... maybe you haven't seen them yet.

Your eating is going very well! Congrats on the awesome weight loss! My husband is the worst at "forgetting" what I can and can't eat, lol. You're doing great though! :)

"Don't eat the baby...."

LOL.. But theyre just so muchable!! My poor cousin is going to have to hold me back when she has her little one in a couple of weeks. Poor thing is going to be missing a few itty bitty toes by the time I'm done..lol

Mornin New Mommy!! :D:D:D
Good Luck at the doctor's appointment!! And have a great day!!

Hey girlie! Just wanted to say good morning. I hope the little one's finger is getting better! Have another great day sweetie! *shakes pom poms and dashes*

Hi sweetness!
How did that happen with her finger? Boy O Boy- Your little family goes through a lot :)
But you are handling well :) I'm so proud of you!
GO Mommy!:D :p :D

Hi everyone! It's so nice to look on here after a long day and see all of you being so great. Sorry I'm not writing in your journals today, I'm just soo tired, but I promise I'll visit each and every one of you tomorrow.
WillBsexysoon, Thanks! You're pretty pretty yourself! :p No problem on the advice, that's we're here for :)
Kdel, first off, I love your avatar, it always brightens my mood! With the finger, I really don't know. They said it can happen in just the tiniest of nicks. so I think I maybe got her with the nail clippers, not enough for her to bleed but just enough to kind of open the skin, then sucking on her fingers put bacteria in there. Thanks for saying that I'm doing well with everything, sometimesI feel like flying off the handle because we have sooo many medical bills, we can pay them but they still suck and cause us to have to budget a little tighter. We got a bill for $44,000 the other day for one of my stays in the hospital. Luckily insurnce paid all but $175 of it, lol.
OhappyDaye, you're so cute :p This forum wouldn't be as great as it is without you. I hope you never leave, even though you're at your goal weight.
pequin...I wonder what has more calories, baby toes or baby cheeks... I would think the cheeks :p Hehe, thanks for wishing me luck at the appointment!
Losing it, Hi! It does sound like we can relate! What were you in the hospital for? (you don't have to tell if it's a secret, I'll only pry a little :p ) We actually went to the doctor today, I'll tell you about it in my main post. Thanks for the encouragement!
be_gone_soon, Hello to you too! :D

Well today was a hard day for me in every department. I had planned out my meals and snacks for the day and included fast food because we were out and about, but my husband tempted me with Chinese food, I was weak, and now I don't know how many calories I had. luckily I talked him into just take out instead of the buffet, so that cut down on calories. Today was also the day of our appointment with the neurologist at the University of Michigan. It went really well, they said that it was probably just Myatonic jerks which just occasionally happens in babies because their little developing brains get overloaded with information, and that we really shouldn't worry. But while we were there we went and visited a little girl we knew who was in the children's hospital. My family is from a very small, 3 stoplight town in mid-michigan. Although I live in a bigger city now, my parents still live in my childhood house, all of our neighbors out there are Amish and we are actually really good friends with them. Their six year old daughter stepped on a nail a few weeks back and contracted tetnus and lock jaw. This is a very rare and life threatening illness. They had her in a medical induce coma until just recently and she was moved out of the intensive care unit yesterday into a regular room. It's so hard to watch her now. She used to be the little girl in the bonnet and dress waving at me from across the street and now she looked like she was in so much pain. She can't walk, can barely sit up, she has a feeding tube in her nose, she has a tracheotomy so she can barely speak, and we she speaks she can't speak english anyway (they speak pennsylvania dutch until they're older) so I felt bad that I couldn't understand her. But her mom, (who is due with a baby in 2 weeks! talk about stress!!) helped her hold my baby and it made her smile which made me so happy! It's just hard to see a little child in that condition, my husband was even on the verge of tears the entire time. So that was emotionally draining, add that to the fact that Abby was fussy all night and we had to be up at 5:30 (as compared to my usually 9:30 waking time) in order to get to our appointment on time and I am just so worn out. Like I said, I don't know how many calories I ate, but I can at least say what I ate today.

Breakfast: McDonald's Egg McMuffin and Hashbrown (420)

snack: 2 rice cakes (100)

Lunch: Chinese (a million)

Dinner: Salad (330)

Snack: cheez-its (130)

beverages: 8 8 oz. glasses crystal light (40)

So approximately 1,001,020

Oh well, tomorrow's another day and as long as you guys are here for me I'll be ok and be able to hop back on track. Thanks everyone, I'm gonna go to bed now, *yawn* nighty night.

Sorry to hear about your neighbor - So sad! :(
You are so funny with you calories! :D Do you see what your post has done to me!
(Concern For you and your family- relief that you have good insurance-comfort on knowing that you lived in a small close town-Sad for your friends/neighbor girl-relief that you could be there to help support your friends-hearing that you have a compassionate husband- and laughter on your eating!)
I'm going to go to work a complete emotional wreck!
No wonder your tired! You deserve a nap:D

I'm sure that the Chinese wasn't THAT much.

Next time, if you're worried about your Calorie intake, just eat a smaller portion of that tempting Chinese and save the rest for later.

Then you have something to look forward to eating again. ;)

You're doing a great job keeping up with everything and not getting too stressed out. I think I would have had a melt-down by now. Your calorie counting was hilarious, but it's important to forgive yourself and move on. Life is not black and white, food is not good or bad, moderation is the key to success.

Hello Everyone!!
*kdel, I'm sorry I traumatized you, I can just see you sitting there at the computer reading my posts, tears streaming down your face but sporadically smiling and laughing. :p your funny, You can tell your boss to blame me if you seem distracted :p
*be_gone_soon, I plan on having a good weekend. I love the weekends, they're so lazy and warm and full of cheesy TV movies that make no sense. They're the best. I hope you have a good weekend too :)
*paroxysm, thanks for posting in my diary. Yes, I know you're right, but chinese food is my kryptonite!! If I let it, it could destroy me! I LOVE IT!!! whoa...sorry..I guess I just have to change my mindset. My mindset right now is that it is impossible to eat a small portion of something so delicious. i'm lucky I don't live in China. I would look like a sumo wrestler; and not one of those little fast ones either, the big kind that just intimidates his opponent with his size. Yup, that would be me :p
*blackwdw, You have a lot of good points. I used to, if I fell off the bandawagon for a second, totally give up all hope and start devouring everything in sight. But with you guys here to help me I feel like I can just let a little mistake go. Thanks for the peptalk! btw, did you see I ate some veggies like a god girl? :D
*Hillbillylee, you know I think you're right, I mean, aren't Asian women known for being tiny? When I was in High school I had a friend who was an exchange student from Thailand. I swear the minute she ate a bite of american food she blew up like a blow fish. She gained like 40 lbs during the school year and towards the end she was running on the treadmill everyday (while I ate my snickers bar) saying "have to lose, have to lose, cannot go home like this, they say i'm fat!!) heh heh...

Well, Diary, today was a good day.

I got all of our laundry done and some of the house cleaned so that was nice. But for the most part I just relaxed and played with my little girl (I'm a stay at home mom in case I never mentioned that before). For food I did great but my exercise video is still not here! That kind of disapoints me. I took my last pregnancy test and I'm sure if I was pregnant it would have showed up by now, but it was negative! yay, I'm happy about that, we just aren't ready for another :D Well, here's my menu for the day!

Breakfast: granola bar (100)

Snack: grapes (90)

Lunch: Salad (lettuce, carrots, broccoli, cauiflower, croutons, grilled chicken and french dressing) (330)

Snack: cheez-its (260)

Dinner: Spaghetti and 2 garlic cheese biscuits (680)

Snack: 2 rice cakes (100)

Beverages: 8 - 8 oz. glasses crystal light (40)

Total: 1600, right on the money!!! Oh by the way, I lost another pound!
see you tomorrow everyone!

Well, yesterday, even though I didn't post, I did pretty good. I had around 1600 calories, which is what I aim for. My husband and I went grocery shopping rented the movie Click, with Adam Sandler in it, and I bawled my eyes out for a good half hour. That was pretty much the excitement of my day. As for today, well, I'm not really sure. Abby was up every 2 hours last night. I hate the pediatrician, we had Abby on a great schedule, she ate every 3 hours during the day and slept through the night. Well, the pediatrician told us not to wake her up for feedings during the day. So now she goes between 4-6 hours for feedings during the day and gets up every 2 hours during the night. I was so tired this morning that I couldn't drag myself out of bed to go to church and then abby threw up all over my head so I just washed my hair and layed back down. Well that didn't work for little miss priss so we had to get up after about 20 mintues. Around 2:15 my husband told me I looked like death warmed over and said to go take a nap, I told him ok but to wake me up in 45 minutes to feed Abby . He said he would so I went and layed down. 2 hours later I woke up and asked him why he didn't wake me up and he said I just looked like i needed the sleep so much that he couldn't bear to wake me up. Of course I couldn't be mad at him. We waited a couple of hours until we were hungry but we didn't want to make food because we were just too tired, so we went out and got... you guessed it... chinese food. I did much better this time though. I didn't get as much this time, but my husband made up for it by getting twice as much for himself. So that leaves me in dilemma that I don't know how many calories I had today. Anyway, I'm all done eating for the day. Here's what I had.

Brunch: Breakfast sandwich and potatoes (612)

Snack: 2 hour nap

Dinner: Chinese food (mystery)

Snack: Desperate Housewives

Beverages: 8 - 8 oz. glasses of Crystal light (40)

Total: Unknown

What a day...

Of course I couldn't be mad at him
Give it time, you'll be slinging cast iron skillets at his head lol.....

The pediatrician yea, we went through several before getting one that made sense. Pediatricians typically try to raise your child for ya. try and find a good neutral one.

Hi Mommy :p
I hope you had a good weekend. How is the neighbor's girl?
YES! I was messed up, going to work!
But then again, I don't actually start working for about 3 hours into my day!:D
..LOL...Just like in the movie"office space"! have you seen that movie? So funny!
- sometimes naughty-but funny:p So I did have time to gather my self.
Keep up the good work! Talk to you soon :p

Lunch: Chinese (a million)

holy crap lol, so lets see.... 3500 calories in a pound *adding* damn, that's an extra 287 pounds.... ya must have done a hell of a lot of exercise that day to keep it off :D

Just stopping by to show my support. Chinese is okay every once in awhile, but c'mon girl, twice in just a few days? *hands on hips trying to be stern*
Anywho, hope you have a great week. You've accomplished a lot so far, keep it up :)

***hillbillylee, lol, i just wont ever tell her what I do again. I'll just smile and nod at her suggestions and go home and do what I want. There are so many things about her I like, it's just that she thinks she's a know-it-all.
***pequin, yeah my husband just started patting my head with a burp rag murmuring "I just don't even know where to start..." lol
***Kdel, actually I have seen office space, I just hope you don't take the office equiptment into a field and beat it down with a baseball bat :p I'm not sure how Mary is doing. They're Amish and don't use phones so we have to hear through the grapevine how things are. My parents have been sick so they haven't been down there to see how she's doing and we've been busy too. They're pretty sure she's going to make a full recovery though, it's just a long road ahead... *pats Kdel's shoulder* it's ok, don't start crying again, we'll never get you to stop...:p
***OHD, Yay! I'm so glad your back! *hugs*
***Mike, Yeah, that's the thing about chinese food, in order to not gain a ton of weight from eating it, you have to exercise -while- eating it. And it's really hard to jog while eating princess chicken! :p Hehe

Well, in food I did really good today. I almost didn't though. you see, me and my lttle girl were playing together and she started to get tired so her little head kind of dropped and her eye hit my finger. She cried for a second but then was ok. But a few minutes later I lookes and there was what looked like blood, on the white of her eye. I started freaking out and called the pediatrician who told me to bring her in (even though they were closing in 5 minutes). I ran her in and she told me not to worry about it that when Abby's bigger she will have all kinds of accidents and that it was just a bruise on the eye. She prescribed some antibiotic cream for it and while we were at wal-mart filling the prescription I was feeling like such a bad mom and depressed that I kept getting drawn to the shel of russel stover chocolates. The assortmant of chews and carmels to be exact. But with a little bit of coaxing form my husband he got me away from the chocolates and over to the Christmas isle where I bought Abby a pink "Baby's first year" christmas stocking to make up for what I had done to her. Whew, dodged that bullet! The rest of the day went good though. Here's what I had!

Breakfast: Granola bar (100)

Snack: Grapes (90)

Lunch: turkey and heart vegetables microwave dinner (200)

Snack: cheez-its (260)

Dinner: Gorditas (760)

Snack: 3 rice cakes (150)

Beverages: 8 - 8 oz. glasses crystal light (40)

1,600 altogether. Wow, I'm good! :p
