New beginnings, new journey

Sorry i have been awol for a few days, it's been so busy and i have been a bit grumpy.

Going to update this again at the end of the day:


Todays intake:

Breakfast: 2 pieces of sandwich slices with cinnamon raisin peanut butter

Snack: 2 cups rockmelon, 1 nectarine (all homegrown, AMAZING!), row of raw dark coconut mylk chocolate

Lunch: 2 pieces of sandwich slices with 100g cottage cheese, a tomato, cucumber. Cup of coffee

Snack: Peanut butter larabar, juice with carrot, apple, orange, celery

Dinner: Salad with homemade dressing, 3 glasses of sparkling wine


Exercise:

45 min workout (warm up, strength circuit, stretching), 1h 15mins walking!! (Um, TOTALLY accidental! I did a 10min warm up before my work out, then went to have a 40 min walk afterward following a path I used to do... Before I injured myself it'd take me 40mins max- it took me an hour!!!! Also walking to the hairdresser and back which is down the road) So yea, super proud of myself- already got in more exercise today than I'd planned!!

Ended up walking around all afternoon too doing shopping! Off to the pub now, I've allowed myself 3 glasses of sparkling white wine in my calories.


Total deficit for the day: 796
 
Got in a bit of shopping yesterday! Went out with my friend Sarah (who I've known since I was 6) So good to catch up with her!! I bought a couple of dresses- one I wore to the pub last night (UM OMG- it was a size 8!) and one that I may or may not wear tonight- I have to decide between the new dress and one I brought with me... Dressing up cocktail-ish for my birthday so they are both pretty dresses! Decisions decisions... Got my hair done yesterday too, took forever because the hairdresser couldn't get the dark colour out! She had to strip my hair and put toner on it twice, it took like 3 hours. I'm pretty happy with the end result, I'll probably post pics tomorrow as I'm fairly sure we'll be taking some tonight. Had a pretty awful sleep last night too, my brother got my husband REALLY drunk, so I had to walk him home from the pub, he tried feeding himself when he got home so I sat him down and made him sandwiches and coffee... he got through one and then tried to sleep with his head on the table. So put him to bed... but yea, he was getting up all night to vomit. I was over it at 5am, so I got up and had brekki. Psyching up to go for a walk right now!


So everyone seems a bit worried about my younger sister, she's been back here for a month and has lost a huge amount of weight in a really short period of time... My brother says she's on a beer diet, because she doesn't eat anything at all and then drinks every night. She's got it pretty rough at work, and she's dealing with a long distance relationship (that I'm pretty sure she broke off last night while she was drunk) but she's pretty all over the place emotionally, and she has these massive mood swings. It's pretty scary!


I have to say I am impressed with how I handled last night- I had SO MUCH FOOD pushed under my nose (we were sitting in a big group and my brother and his mates kept ordering platters) I would've passed up about 4 plates of wedges, dim sims, salt n pepper squid, fish n chips... I had nothing! And when everyone was being really annoying and telling me to keep drinking (people, please don't do that to your friends... it's mean, if I've had enough to drink I've had enough!) I stuck to water after the 3 I allowed myself.

Snack: Choc chip brownie Larabar

Lunch: 2 cape seed rolls with smoked salmon, tomatoes, lettuce, onions, carrot

Snack: Juice with beetroot, carrot, apple. And then... chips and a row of raw dark coconut chocolate (oops!! Think it'll be more of a maintenance day today!! Not drinking tonight anyway)

Dinner: Strawberry daiquiri (guessing 300cals), 2 slices garlic bread (guessing 100cals each), chili seafood with small portion of rice in tomato broth (guessing 460cals), coffee


Exercise:

1hr walk


Total deficit for the day: Ended up going over maintenance by 432cals, but it's my birthday!! Only happens once a year!! Going to be extra good tomorrow!

Having problems with my legs today though, having to wear strappy flats with it instead of heels. But it's all good! Can't wait to go out n see everyone!!!

Well done on not eating shed loads when you went out, very impressive! And i know what you mean about people trying to force feed you drinks, that really annoys me too!

Sorry to hear that your sister is going thru a hard time, that really sucks. Hope she gets thru it soon.

And OMG you look awesome in your dress and your hair is stunning :)

Thanks everyone!! We all had a really good night!! Got home around midnight and went to sleep... was up at 6.30 again this morning though. Not exercising today because my legs were being dodgy yesterday, so taking it easy. Have already eaten pretty bad today- woke up and had a massive slab of chocolate mousse cake that's been calling me all week from the fridge. Ahhhh. It was really dense too... I looked up calories and pretty sure it would've come in at around 800. Ouch!


Todays intake:

Breakfast: Chocolate mousse cake

Snack: Peanut butter cookie Larabar

Lunch: KFC (eek!) Small chips, fillet burger, AND a twister

Snack: Cape seed roll with choc peanut butter

Dinner: ....................Fudge brownie Mcflurry


Exercise: Umm... no...


Total deficit for the day: -887 (oooooopsie)


Yea so todays food was total POOS. But I had fun... I'm sure I'll be regretting the shitty food tomorrow but eh, what can I do.

Pretty determined to be healthy the rest of the time we are up here, 4 days till we are home... so going to count down 4 perfect days! I really want 1000cal deficits every day, it can be done! Got a few obstacles ahead, like tomorrow night I'm having Mexican for dinner with a friend... lucky there's an online menu, so think I'm going to have a salad of some kind with beans.


Really don't want to leave here hey... Oh I bought a juicer today too, so I'll have that and my new breadmaker to play with when I go home!!

Ooooh i love that you had chocolate mouse cake for breakfast!!! That is brilliant, i think it even beats my christmas cake for breakfast last weekend!!!!

Oh wow, thanks everyone for the comments!! I've had the worst food day EVER today so I feel really guilty reading all those, lol. I'd go back and reply to everyone but I'm pretty tired and I've had a few drinks, so I might come back on and do that tomorrow.. I'll just tell you what I've been up to!!


Ok so I ended up eating more yesterday, went to the movies last night and watched Chronicle, so after all the shit I ate yesterday I just didn't care and ended up eating popcorn and maltesers (OMG- one of the things I used to do all the time that was just so bad but soooo good). And today I kinda felt ill but just kept eating, I guess over the whole day I didn't eat much it was just really high calorie food... then dinner was probably by itself more cals than I should eat in two WHOLE days!!! Went out for dinner with my best friend Sarah as it's my last night here, and that was my birthday present... it was a huge 3 course meal with cocktails, I am SO SO SO incredibly full right now. I can't even suck in my stomach, lol!!! Ok, so I'm going to list my food today, I think those faint of heart should probably skip over this... Honestly, I don't have a single documented day since I've started that has this many calories!


Todays intake:

Breakfast: Sandwich slices with choc peanut butter

Snack: 1 row raw dark coconut mylk chocolate, peanut butter cookie Larabar

Lunch: 1 and a half cape seed rolls with smoked salmon, cheese, salad (threw half of one out as I got really full suddenly!)

Snack: 1 huge piece of apple pie, 1 small piece of banana cake, 1 drumstick icecream


Ok, so as you can see the day was already pretty bad. By the end of this I'm already right on maintenance for the day as I haven't done any exercise... Unfortunately, the last few things I ate were sugary/starchy things which I can absolutely eat unlimited amounts of once I start... so by the time I went out for dinner, I was keen for a HUGE meal. So was my friend.. eeek. I'm going to list dinner with my calorie estimates for each thing, it could be even more than what I've guessed (scary thought!)


Dinner:

2 cocktails (600)

Shared entree of portobello mushrooms crumbed with 3 cheeses served with hollandaise sauce (there was 3, we had 1.5 each) (200)

Grilled Tasmanian salmon with crispy skin, 3 large prawns and served on herbed mash potatoes with hollandaise sauce (1250)

Tiramisu (700)


So the shocking estimated total for dinner... 2750 cals!!! Ahhh, possibly even more?? Or less?? Still really bad either way! Specially since I'd already eaten so much!!


Exercise:

Absolutely none!


Total deficit for the day: Approx 2948 OVER maintenance!! Is it bad that even though I feel so incredibly full the food was so good it was worth it? Lol


I'm so over going out for dinner right now, but tomorrow is Valentines Day and my husband has had something booked for a month! I think it's going to be a pretty light meal... right now I'm hoping so much that my stomach is ok tomorrow, I think today is probably going to affect my IBS pretty badly. Really have to start being a little more responsible with that...
 
Oh hun, one bad day is okay to have every so often. You have nothing to worry about your always eating so good!!:) I know tomorrow you will KICK ASS.

I really laughed at your calorie intake....That rocks lol!!!! And like you said 'it was so worth it' You are on holiday. You can get back on track when you get home and back to a normal routine.

Haha... so today I have the worst food hangover ever! I actually woke up with a headache!!!! And I feel like a whale lol. Can't believe I'm going out for dinner tonight too, aaaaaaaaahhhhhh!!! Leaving my home town today to go to Perth for a couple of days to catch up with friends and my husbands family... can't believe how fast the past few days have gone!! I really don't want to leave :cry: Honestly wondering why I ever did, I just feel like I'm missing so much not being here. Ahhh, when we get back we still have 17 months left in that hell hole...


Having problems with my legs too, I've done a lot more walking around the past few days than I normally do... at work I normally stand in the same spot all day, so my tendons are fine... but because I'm walking around heaps (probably not in the best shoes) they are pulling a bit. Going to have to rest up and ice them when I get home! (Which reminds me, I have to fly again in 2 days... I HATE flying!!)

Ok, in all honesty, I'm glad to see that you lived it up a little on your vacation! Gotta get at least one good day in there, and by good I mean bad, especially when you had willpower of steel on the other!!! I love the color of your dress in that picture and you look amazing, as always! :) I feel your pain with your hair, I remember a few years ago I had this bright idea to go dark red, it was actually really pretty, but hell to keep up on my blonde roots, but more hell than that was going back to blonde! I was in the salon for 8 hours with my mom bringing me meals! I'll never go dark again :p


Ummmm I'm really excited to find out what your husband has been planning!! Sounds elaborate!! My bf does not plan ever, I always do it, so this year at the beginning of January I said to him you have a month and half until Valentine's Day, you better plan something and make it good!! ;) We'll see what he comes up with!


Oh and Happy Birthday!!! Glad to hear you had such a good time. And seeing you get all done up and cocktail-dressy has definitely thrown some motivation my way!
