you really need to step away from the scale for a week or two -it seems to control your moods way too much.

Do what you know is the right thing to do - eat properly, and exercise moderately and the results will come.. Stepping on the scale every day doesnt give you results -anything can change what the scale says...

The scale isn't always a great indicator of how you are doing.. so leave it be for a while and go with changing your behavior... take it one meal at a time... and do the best you can -

I think your right Mal, I know you are...
I do live by the scale a bit too much. I will weigh myself on the day scheduled for my birthday challenge. The 26th of February. I will give myself of stressing on the scale...

It does flucuate my mood tremendously, especially right now. When I am really vulnerable. The pill I was on this month, which is not out of my system yet.... cuts my seretonin level by more than 60 percent ..it stinks ...

Hey a-n-g-e-l!!
I went for a four hour walk today through the woods near a mtn...

It was massively crazy. Went with my parents, step sister and niece. And we were all so tired when we got back to the car. We walked for so long through the snow and rivulets that were around..

it was a blast and I am going next Tuesday again! I hope, they better let me come!!

It was Janice!! It was absolutely beautiful. The woods were alight with sun, and the snow was coming down slowly. And than we crossed a swamp and brook over some snow .... we also went through the woods around a pond toward the tower at the top of the mtn. It was so breath taking and tiring. Going up all the time. It was ...just beautiful ... I was wrapped around nature completely .. I definitely want to do it again!!

Yea the four hour walk was incredible. I am back at it to a point, but I need to get more to the point. You know. I slept in today, because I was so tired from yesterday. I slept well, but I would eat than go lye down, eat than go lye down continually. Probably not the best way to do it. When I thought I would be up I ate and than found myself going back to bed. I was so tired from the walk, u know, or actually hike... it was nuts lol

A four-hour walk is highly impressive, Natalie Jo. I bet if you manage one of those once a week, you'll soon be back on track. Don't let your weight gain make you feel too negative. It's normal to put on a little sometimes on the way down - thin people's weight fluctuates, too.

I know, I can be hard on myself, but I am going to not eat anything tonight and wait until morning to have breakfast and I will take a thirty five minute walk tomorrow and just drink water and tea tomorrow ... I should do fine because I wrote down a menu for tomorrow ...

Well today was not a sucessful exercise today, but tomorrow I have such a great opportunity to walk. I am going to the Kittery outlets tomorrow and every time I am there I walk for thirty five minutes. So I am going to go almost everday and work on walking. And my diet, has begun again... tonight I ate very well...

a small salad
asparagus
and 1/2 pound of salmon with Mediterrian marinade for fish. Omega 3s big time. I am feeling good peeps. I am feeling like I can lose these three pounds and meet a good goal on the 26th ... the first weigh in for my birthday challenge. I am going to work hard in this challenge and I have another challenge I have joined on my DBSA site, Depression, bipolar support alliance. So we are weighing in every Monday and I AM NOT going to weigh myself inbetween these weigh ins, because Mal, you are right. :iagree: I can't focus completely on the scale. Tomorrow I will also be using the work bench. I will work hard for five to ten minutes to start out...

so I am believing trully I have grown from my experience with the medication that takes me out of menopause and I believe I can lose this weight more than ever!!:hurray:

Think like a thin me, be a thin me, be all I can be!
and do what I need to do to full fill my life goals.

One goal is to enjoy this spring and summer. Took a book out of the library for the first time in ever. Its a book by David Eddings. I am taking off the Spring terms and taking off the summer, so I will take advantage of all the good weather. This year is my year!!

I only weigh once a week otherwise i find myself obessing over the scales to a point where i will weigh everytime i go upstairs which is obv no good so i have an agreement with myself and it works i find i concentrate on other things and enjoy the changes i am making

Thanks for coming round to my journal, thought I would check yours out as well. :) I agree wholeheartedly with the advice for the scale - I've definitely had my mood changed for better or worse by that stupid number on there. Don't stress and know that you're doing good things for yourself!! And the 4 hour walk sounds AWESOME. I live in the city but am from the rural suburbs and miss the woods terribly. Glad you enjoyed!

Yea I am going to weigh once a week, :iagree: except when I hit my two week weigh in on my Birthday Challenge. My next weigh in is Monday and than Tuesday. Probably will weigh the same, but I like some structure.

That when I am going to weigh myself.

I am trying not to stress. My weight is going back down ...but I am not going to check again until Monday morning at 9am ... in my pjs of course...
