Cohen's Lifestyle My Road to Success

Prefix for Cohen's Lifestyle
Yay for Day 1! Hope its gone good! You are well prepared so I'm sure there's no way it has not gone great! You'll be feeling great in no time.

I always split my CB's and fruit up throughout the day so I was eating every 2.5 hours - it helped me =o)

The cottage cheese and salad sounds yummy!! How was it? What did you end up doing with your chicken?

Take it easy with the gym, don't overdo it! Light exercise should be fine though - just make sure if you start feeling light headed you stop! Keep up the water etc :)

Looking forward to sharing your journey with you Ang!

Take care xo

Day 2

Hey all,

On day 2 now and all is good :)

Stuck to everything yesterday, drank about 3 litres of water, after dinner i realised i had only had 2 crackerbreads the whole day, so had two provitas as a snack after dinner, was nice to actually have something to snack on after dinner, especially cause that is when my bf loves to snack on things so it didn't make me feel like anything, thank goodness.

Day 2 has started well, sat in so much traffic this morning i finished a 1.5 litre water, so that's half done already, had a egg and tomato for breakfast and have brought chicken and veg from last night, my snacks are a apple and a orange, well need to slot in the crackerbreads somewhere as i didn't have any with breakfast and don't plan on having with lunch and dinner, will have them as snacks maybe during the day.

Been feeling ok, yesterday had a bit of a headache but nothing too bad, was feeling very tired, and this morning feeling exhausted, and i slept so well, remember previously on the plan this was one of the biggest things i suffered with is tiredness.

Mood, feeling very positive and still feeling excited, dying for the time to fly so i can weigh myself, hahahahahaha. I am setting little goals for myself each day and they seem to be helping a lot.

Hope all is well with everyone.
Happy Australian day to you all.

Day 3

Another day down, which means 1 day left that i will have to do, i'm seeing that as a postive :)

Day 2 went very well, drank just short of 4 litres of water, dunno why but very very thirsty, probably not a bad thing, had no cheats but didn't get through all my cb for the day only had 2, hope that isn't a bad thing.

Had a terrible nights sleep, my poor kitty is not well so was up with him a lot and all he wanted was to be loved, so feeling particularly tired today, also not feeling great, have quite and upset tummy and very nauseas, so putting it down to either a bug or maybe just my body detoxing, will see how i feel by tomorrow though.

Day 3 is going well so far, had my yoghurt and cinnamon for brekkie and have last nights dinner for lunch, steak and salad, got my 2 fruits for the day, but still struggling to add in all my cb especially when i don't eat them with my meals. But anyway even though i'm not feeling too well, still very motivated and haven't lost the drive which is a very good thing :)

Hope you are all having a great day.

Woohoo! Your doing great Ang.

Its not a bad thing not to add your crackers. I always did though hahaha. I dont think I went a day without eating them - cos I'm a hog! I mostly ate them with my meals... so I'de have tuna on crackers and then tuna salad.. or use them to coat chicken or something. Use them to make 'cappucino cheesecake' with the ricotta. There are lots of ways to use them to change things up a bit.

Hope the traffic was not as bad today? It really sucks having to sit in traffic before works, sets me in a bad mood for the day haha!

Keep it up! You're doing great and you'll just keep flying through every day like you have the past 3.

Will speak to you again soon

Hi, I just wanted to say good luck. I am going to go back on to the Cohen diet tomorrow. I originally did it last year but didn't stick to it. That said I lost 15 kgs very quickly and I have kept 10 off. That said I have another 35 to go.... Good luck Angel

Thanks so much for visiting my diary and appreciate your well wishes. Good luck with restarting, i also restarted did it last year and lost about 12kgs but totally lost the plot and picked almost all of it up but i was terrible and my mind was in such a bad place.

Day 8 or is it day 4

Back in the land of the living....

Wow had a really terrible last couple of days!! Got a really bad tummy bug, last wednesday which last up until yesterday, today is the first day I am feeling human again :)

So it goes without saying that this bug did not help my eating or lack of at all, from wednesday i was not able to eat or drink anything, when i could eventually stomach anything it was strictly cohens so that hopefully has to count for something.

My mind is definitely still in the right place, i must tell you if it wasn't i would have used the gastro as a reason to start eating junk again and i didn't so kinda proud of myself for that.

Day 8 is going well, eating very bland but that is mainly because i am still a bit nauseas and don't think i would get much more down.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

Welcome back to the land of the living Angela. I hope you are able to start enjoying your food again soon. Well done for not resorting to junk food or starchy food when you were feeling so nauseous. That's a big step in the right direction! Take care of yourself, xo Cate

You're awesome Ang! Well done. It's those little break through's that show you that you are really really ready to tackle this! So glad you're feeling better and I hope you have a great week.

Will check in soon, better get to work! xo

Day 9

Ok, it has finally happened, today I am officially craving something, no idea what but am feeling for something, ignoring it though, went and made myself a cup of coffee and drinking that and my water, so best it goes away and quickly, lol.

Otherwise feeling pretty good, bug seems to have gone completely now no nausea anymore, yay for me :)

Mentioned in Kristy's diary earlier today for the first time had mango with with yoghurt, usually just have cinnamon but felt like something different today but oh my word was i full afterwards, it is really a big portion when you add the two together, think next time i do that will only have half my fruit portion and save the other half as a snack in the day.

Was a busy bee last night when i got home, prepared dinner for tonight as my BF plays football and needs to eat early and i get home a bit late, so while i was at it, made the same thing for lunch today and cooked our dinner for last night, looking forward to lunch, it is my chicken and asparagus dish and then yay i get to have it again for dinner :) I like it when i have everything planned and it also really helps with deviations, think i need to be more organised like that in future!!

Anyway thats my story for today so far, need to get back to work, have a busy day ahead of me.

Hope everyone is well and having a great day.

Good on you for fighting the cravings Ang. Sometimes fruit at wrong times of the day can cause that insulin spike!

Sorry it wont be a long post from me tonight, but just wanted to let you know that I've popped in and read.

Tata xoxox

Definitely think it could have been the mango then, that is the only thing I have changed.

No worries, thanks for reading and have a great evening, got kicked off FB before i could say goodbye, no second biscuit hey ;) and enjoy Grey's.

Just quickly Angela- I never had a whole mango portion with my yoghurt for breakfast. Sometimes I only had 1/3rd. It's very satisfying. Cheers, cate.

Hi there,

Thanks Cate, I don't think i will do the mango in the morning, yesterday was absolute torture for me with all my cravings, and today when i cut the fruit out with breakfast and just had the yoghurt i was ok, cravings gone, had a bit of mango for my afternoon snack and will have the rest of the portion after dinner tonight i think.

No much to report today, still feeling strong, bit bleh today, was feeling a bit funny this morning bit light headed but it passed and feeling ok again, still just very very tired, like i can't get enough sleep, lol.

Hope everyone one is well, almost hometime for me can't wait, want to go home, have dinner and lie on the couch and watch some tv, don't feel like doing much else...

Hey Angela

Just reading through your diary and we sound similar in a few respects :) I am married to a South African guy so I can understand the family thing and having a good old fashioned braii! Love a bit of boerewors!! ha ha ha

I had 45 kg's to loose, lost most of it then have put some back on after Christmas, my birthday, New Years and my recent trip to Paris :) It was a great time but I think I would have traded it all for just staying on plan and reaching goal!

I pretty much put 15kg's on overnight which is really scary!

Anyway I have restarted since Tuesday and have about 25kg's to loose all up- at least I didnt go back to the start!

All the best for your journey and remeber it is all in the mind with Cohen's- stay strong and keep your food interesting, that's the best advice I can give!

xx nicky

Hey Nicky,

Ah you have no idea, my life revolves around braai's lol, don't think a weekend will go by that we won't be going to one or be having one at home, and my biggest weakness at them is the breads and potato bakes and stuff. Where in South Africa is your husband from, amazing how small the world is hey.

I think when on Cohens and then stopping and restarting also has alot to do with picking up weight so quickly, i was on it last May lost about 12kgs and picked it all back up when i went off the plan that's why i think it is so important to get to refeed and then maitenence, that's the key to the whole plan.

Thanks so much for the encouragement I need it, hehehe, and if you have any interesting recipes please let me know, I can be so boring in the kitchen my poor BF just eats what i make he must be so tired of protein and salad, hahahaha.

We will do this and before we know it will be chatting about maintenence just like Kristy and Cate, i cannot wati!!!
