Sorry I didnt get a chance to check in the other night. I weighed in at 158.7 this morn. And of course, after my insanely busy few weeks, I'm now sick :(, I hope that wont stop me from losing though. Havent got long now before our trip to the D.R. Hope everyone is having a good weekend!
 
Hi Nim, glad you made your trip home safely. I know you’re disappointed in gaining 6lb, but honestly that should be gone relatively quickly so try not to let it get you down.

Sorry you’re under the weather now. Hopefully you’ll be feeling better soon!
 
Good morning! 157.5 this morning! I have a question though. I want to get back to the gym as soon as I'm feeling better. But I want to also make up for lost time. I'm thinking I want to do 2 hr workouts. Would that be beneficial or would it be overkill? I don't want to do more harm than good. But I do want to burn more calories and make it to the 130's by the last week in January. (Even if I hit 139, I'll be ecstatic. I just want to see a 3 on my scale again) I've been researching online but haven't really found a definitive answer. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. Hope y'all have a good Monday!!

157.2 this morning. Feeling better today. Just fed up with this nasty weather. Had a fender bender yesterday. A guy decided to change lanes into me. Funny thing was I was in the lane next to him but I was in front of him!! Have no idea how he didn't see me!! His front left hit my rear right. Messed up my rim pretty bad and put a dent in the wheel arch. Not too bad tho. Could have been worse. Just fed up that it happened.

Anyway, food wise yesterday I did ok. I cheated a little with a bowl of ice cream but overall, I didn't go over my calorie goal. Today so far I've had a bowl of Cheerios for breakfast and I'm going to chipotle for lunch. Probably have a light dinner to make up for a heavy lunch.
 
155.9 this morning. 2.3 lbs to go to get to where I was before I went to Ireland. (153.6) I really wish I hadn't let myself go as far as I did. I feel like it was such a waste of all the effort I put in beforehand. Well, I've learned my lesson and hopefully I won't allow myself to do that again. The resort we're staying at in the DR in January is an all inclusive (why don't they just call it an "all-you-can-eat/drink") but there is a gym (with a beautiful view of the ocean) so I'll try to combat my bad eating with lots of cardio!!

Hi Nim!

Sorry to hear about your gain while you were away, but you are doing great and are back on track now :) You'll be back to your pre-Ireland weight in no time! Don't think of the effort put in before as a loss, it may be what kept you from gaining more, and it's helped you lose weight since you got back.

Sounds like your trip in January will be amazing! And it's great that they have a gym, that should help you burn off some of the extra calories.
 
Thank you so much Icychic. I appreciate your positive attitude. I can be really down on myself and negative when I feel I've failed or let myself down. You are absolutely right though. Thanks for that.

Yeah, I can't wait for that trip. I wonder if I'll make it to the 130's before I go though.......:)
 
I had a bad bad day yesterday. I've been sick for 2-3 weeks now and its driving me crazy. Yesterday I just gave in to all my cravings. I had a large bag of skittles, a large packet of starbursts, a large bag of Lay's dill pickle chips, a huge red velvet and chocolate chip muffin and a glazed donut. I'm mad at myself now for doing that. I haven't weighed in yet today so I'm dreading to see what the number is. Hope everyone else is having a good week.
 
My official weigh in day is today. So after that horrible binge day I had on Tuesday, I tried to be really good and make up for it a bit. Stuck religiously to my diet and didn't cheat again. Haven't lost as much this week as I would have liked but it's prob because of cheating so badly. And I still haven't gotten well enough to get to the gym yet either. This cold/chest infection is driving me crazy!!! Down to 155.3 this morning so only a total loss of .9 lb this week. A loss is a loss though, no matter how small. Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!

Sorry to hear about the binge :( But it's in the past, don't dwell on it, keep moving forward, and remember how you felt afterwards for the next time you are tempting. I've been trying to eat a little bit of what I'm craving every day. That way I don't feel completely deprived and also I know once I hit my goal weight I will want to go back to eating the chips and candy and pop so I don't really want to fully cut it or I know my weight will rebound. I just always have to remember moderation and it's been working so far for the cravings.

Being sick sucks! And does NOT help your eating and exercise habits at all. Do what you can at home even if it's just some jumping jacks or push ups or just extra walking around the house or on the spot.

Hey, Nim. Sorry about you being sick. It seems like lots of folks on the forum are sick this week and the last. I've been evangelizing eating raw garlic to everyone; it seems to have worked for me getting over a couple colds faster than usual, as well as a sore throat. But good job being back on track after your binge!
 
Thanks Icychic. You're absolutely right. On most days, if I have a craving, I try to treat myself in moderation so that I don't binge like I did the other day. I have some fat free frozen yogurt in the freezer at the mo and it's super yummy so I have half a cup of that when my cravings start. I think Tuesday was just a really bad day. I've been sick for about 3 weeks now and the symptoms just won't go away. And tues, my hubster was out of town and I was missing him a lot so I just snapped. Lol!

GreenSurf, thank you. I'll have to try that garlic remedy. Although if I do, I doubt my hubby, or anyone for that matter, will come anywhere near me!! Haha!

I didn't weigh myself this morning but yesterday I weighed in at 154.9. Last night I hosted a dinner party for some friends (I have no idea how I got thru it being ill, but somehow it was a success) and we had a huge meal so I was afraid to weigh this morning! Haha!

As for the garlic - I think you essentially swallow pieces like pills so your breath might not be too bad. Heard of another trick - if you are coughing rub vicks on your feet. Supposedly it helps. Hope you feel better soon :( Being sick sucks and surely does not help when you are trying to lose weight.

Lots of rest, lots of fluids!

Yesterday food wise was ok but I could hardly move cos of the pain in my back. It's feeling a little looser today so hopefully I'll be able to move a bit more. I'm forced out of the house today cos I have to go meet a contractor at one of our rental homes. Probably a good thing. Get me out and about. Just wish the weather wasn't so crappy.

Anyway, weigh in today was 155.6. I've cut 100 out of my calories while I've been sick and basically immobile. As soon as I can get back to the gym I'll put it back to 1300. I really hate not losing anything. :(
