MoonGoddess's Path

Its a full moon for sure... so far work has been insane! Water is messing up, only in the upstairs part of the building & everyone has hideous attitudes. aye aye....

as I said before... I will have a frickin great day!

...at least I have a job, gas in my tank, food in my fridge & a treadmill waiting to take my frustrations out on at home... if I can just get there.

Hey Moon. I've heard of Indoshine before, I wonder if you live in Southern CA? I know there is one in Santa Barbara I think.

Good for you for getting in a workout before dinner. That always makes it more guilt free.
Have a great weekend!!

Hi MJ, nope. I'm on the Atlantic coast not the pacific. In Wilmington, NC actually, destination for hurricanes & vacationing tourist that clogged up the roads all weekend!

I admit that I have not even counted calories the past two days. I have gotten a ton of steps on the pedometer, but ditched the calorie focus for a few. Too much going on with my family & Burgos's sister around. We ate pretty good. Even made my strawberry spinach salad. Yummy.

Holiday's over & I didn't gain anything (yet I know it can take a few days sometimes) & I am now back on track.

not gaining is a good thing...

ditching the calories for a few days won't kill you... sometimes your body just needs the break...

you're jut taking a small detour - you'll get back on track... just don't lose sight of where you want to get to...

It was delicious. & not gaining is good, but I love losing!

I actually saw a drop on the scale this morning. Small but I was happy for the movement. I can get back in the swing of things & end up losing what I have gained back & get back to working down to my goal.

ok so for the salad...

bunch of baby spinach leaves, slice up some fresh strawberries, add a handful or two of pine nuts, squirt in some flax oil & drizzle in a little balsamic vinegar (I use the fig or raspberry infused stuff), then a TOUCH of salt & pepper. Toss & enjoy!

Its a nutty flavor.

You can do it with Olive oil, but I usually have flax on hand & its supposed to be "soooo good for you" according to the gals in the wellness department. I used to know why, but the caffeine isn't kicking in yet.

i always put mandarin oranges and almonds in my spinach salad -it's really the only salad that I like - (I'm sooo not a rabbit) - I love strawberries -so I think it's absolutely brilliant to put them in with the spinach..

I got it from my grandmother who used to make it after she had it at some restaurant. I love it. Usually I need some cheese or something to enjoy a salad.

everything i'd need to put on a salad - to make it enjoyable -like meat, cheese, beans, croutons, etc... pretty much defeat the purpose of having a salad :)

but some goat cheese or gorgonzola crumbles would be a good addition and the goat cheese is like 70 calories a serving...

Hey girlie! It is so good to see you back on the forum. That salad sounds delicious! I had a yummy spinach salad myself today for lunch. Doesn't sound as good as yours but I think it is great we are both doing salads for lunch.

You live in NC? Are you near Churchill? A good friend of mine is moving there for the next year to complete a residency program. I will be coming out to visit her in a few months I suppose. If you are close by it would be great to meet in person :) I'd say let's grab some cocktails...lol...but depending on our weight loss goal we can maybe go for a nice walk or something.

Anyway, glad to see you back. Can't wait to hear what you have been up to!

That salad sounds delish Moon. I'm the type that needs a cheese in my salad too. Lately it's been feta. I'm a feta freek. I do love goat cheese as well, yum...

Glad you were able to see a small drop in the scale :)

Mouth watering!!!!! Sounds so delicious!

Ah Chapel Hill - UNC, not that is a place I know of. :) Although it is about 3 hours away.

Glad everyone is liking the salad idea. Hope it helps you get in a few more fresh veggies than you would have other wise.

Today as been insane at work. I finally caved to the mac brownies the baker made. Its like a macaroon on top of a brownie. Best I can say is that the coconut will give me fiber & I did it instead of the eggplant parmesan lunch! We all have to cave now & then I guess.. just feels guilty doing it. Oh well have to add in some extra steps tonight. & I actually know I will be eating a decent dinner since I have plans to meet up with a friend & get some sushi. I'll have the salmon roll & a sweet potato roll with a seaweed salad. No clue how to enter all that into the spark people files, but I know its much better than eating out at other places!
