My friend's mom hates all vegetables and fruit. She claims she likes corn but I think that it's now considered a starch and not a vegetable. It makes it a pain in the ass for family get togethers. She is very serious about it and will not eat ANY vegetables...

Oh, by the way. I signed up for the SHAPE challenge but totally dropped the ball on following the program. I've just been running like crazy in preparation for my upcoming 1/2 marathon. I'm down on the scale and have been eating healthy I just have not had time to log in and document my exercise and eating...sorry chica!!
 
Sorry everyone for dropping off the face of the earth.

My mom is sick again & its kinda hit me harder than expected. My therapist advised to stop all focus on losing weight, dieting/calorie counting & weighing daily, etc. for a little while. Seems something I tend to obsess or over do in hard times when things seems to spiral out of control. I am amazed I have been able to take the break from it all. ..although I did cheat & weight myself a few times.

Things are going ok. I have gained a few back (I weighed myself this morning). I'm hoping to get back on track soon. Just needed to concentrate on other things & prove that this is still healthy for me.

Hope you are all doing great & losing the weight!

Oh & not striping. I just tend to eat like I want to & he still hates veggies. His loss! I'll have to think about the strip dinner idea again! Would be funny.
 
Hi Ali! I've missed you. I understand you need to take care of yourself and your Mom right now. Hang in there, we'll be here when you are ready to get back at it. And don't worry about gaining...we all gain! I'm up to and struggling to get re-motivated w/the diet. Exercise is good...diet sucks!

I'm glad you are doing ok. I'm sorry to hear about your mother. But I'm glad you are taking it easy. Concentrate on the top priority- yourself.
 
Hi all.

Just wanted to check back in & hopefully refocus on my weight loss again. I have gained a few back... of course. Isn't that what happens when you don't exercise or watch what you eat? What more did I expect? Just glad it wasn't more than it was.

My mom seems to be doing better. I think the allergy season just hit her really hard. I never know what is going on really since she refuses to see any more doctors. Just have to wait & see. So far she is pretty resilient. She still has a couple of spots of cancer in each lung, but she is still going, thankfully.

Took a trip to the mountains & ended up hiking a lot. Kinda makes me wish I lived there. Certainly felt like I was getting more of a work out than I do here at the beach, but I'm sure I would fine a way to be lazy if I lived there too.

I'm currently redoing my bathroom & the painting has been a workout. Even fell once & got lucky in not getting hurt, just a few bruises, including my ego. Guess I do have to face gravity! :)

Anyway hope everyone is losing more towards their goal weights & hopefully I will start dropping again soon. I know I am going to try harder in the next few weeks.
 
aw. Sorry to make you miss me, but it feels good to have been missed. :blush5:

Last night was amazing.

I got home & almost made dinner, when the man called & said he wasn't actually having to stay in the field late after all & was headed home! I hopped on the treadmill & walked til he got home. The we ended up at my favorite restaurant, Indochine. Tried to fine a new mongolian bowl place, but it was really hard to find & then once we got there, there was a really long line & only a few tables. We said forget it & ended up going to eat Thai under a breath taking scorpio full moon. It was wonderful.

I have no idea what the calorie content of mango basil summer rolls or beef pad see u is, but it was worth every calorie. At least I didn't do fast food or something!

Today is going to be a great day. I am determined. Already I skipped the drive thru breakfast & went for a soymilk & instant breakfast packet instead. I can do this.
