Momma4alex’s adventures in surprising my man….

Hi Heather!
Sorry I haven't gotten to stop by here lately, I've been kinda MIA. lol. I caught up on the pages that I missed and you seem to be doing wonderfully!! You're so close to being 20lbs down hun! I bet you're excited, I know that when I hit 20 down I freaked out like a little girl. :p
I hope every thing works out how you and hubby want it to with the army and such. I'll keep you guys in my thoughts.
Well, I've got two more diaries to hit before I pass out for the night, so I'll be sure to be around more and keep up with all the going ons. Keep it up hun and take care!! <3
xoxoxox

ps- We'll be rockin' some awesome bikinis soon my dear!!!

Hey thanks elle for stopping by.

Man i really need to get my ass back in gear and post here everyday. Food and exercise wise i have been good. I am working on making sure to get enough food in so that i can still get in 30 minutes of cardio without going to high in my cal deficit which at the moment seems to be my only problem besides getting in plenty of veggies.

Ok well I can't update my food journal or exercise totals until tomorrow due to sparkpeople.com being down for maintance. ugh why is when i can get into one site the other goes down on me.. :( anyways I know for monday I ate 1,395 cals and burned 296 through exercise for a cal deficit of 1,163 cals and for tuesday 9/18/07; I ate 1,542 cals and burned 414 cals from exercise for a total cal deficit of 1,143 cals today. I burned a little more then i had planned today as i am trying to keep my cal deficit about 1,000 cals a day as i don't want to put my body in starvation mode but want to keep losing weight too. Today I did 33 minutes for total of 5.68 miles done. and yesterday i did 25 minutes both of the exercise was done on my elliptical which I am loving have around the house now.

I'll update more tomorrow need to head to bed as its 1:37am and i'm setting my alarm for 8am and going to get up and get moving around early so that i can go to bed no later then 11:30 when the news goes off tomorrow night. I am tired of staying up till 2am and then sleeping in so late. sorry i meant to get to everyone diaries but i'm falling asleep just posting in mine so i'll do that in the morning also. see you all tomorrow.

hey there ^^^^^^^^^^^^still sounds like a gr8 day^^^^^hopefully
sparkpage will be back up and running!Keep have a gr8 days and stay away from the scale lol Tammy

Hey Heather,

Looks like things are going well. Instead of cutting back on exercise maybe you should try and eat some more food. Its still calories being burned :)

Sleep is also very important! Sounds like you are making continuous strides to get healthier and healthier!

You are doing so well =0)

::HUGS::

Hey thanks tammy and Jenna for stopping by.

I have made an considerable effort to increase my calorie intake so that I can still continue to workout at the rate I have been. the last two days I have at between 1500-1800 cals which while it makes me feel like i ate too much i still burned quite a bit of cals in exercise which while being on tom sucks cause i really don't feel like exercising at all but just do it anyways cause of knowing how much i ate and don't want it to turn into more fat.

Food Journal for 9/20/07:

Breakfast: Berry crunch cereal with 1/2 c. 1%milk and a raspberry shake with 1cup frozen raspberries, 6oz vanilla yogurt, and 8 oz 1% milk and 3 ice cubes grinded until well blended.

Snack: chocolate chip granola bar

Lunch: 2 Chicken and cheese fajita wraps. 3 oz of chicken breast cut into strips and 2 slices of 2% cheese on whole wheat fajita size tortillas. 1c. seedless grapes, 1c. watermelon

Dinner: 6" sweet onion chicken terriyaki sub from (subway). had 2 slices of american cheese on it and carrots, tomatoes, cucumber, lettuce, olives and light sweet onion sauce on it. and a 6oz cherry yogurt

Dessert: white chip macadamia nut cookie from (subway).

Totals: 1,792 cals; 276g carbs, 40g fat, 97g protein and 29g fiber which is a new one that i started tracking since i didn't think i was getting enough in my diet.

Exercise: 52 minutes on the elliptical for a total of 7.5 miles and 589 cals burned.

cal deficit: 1,059

Hope you all are doing well and i really should have been asleep way before this. see you all tomorrow

Hi Heather!
Sorry that tom is visiting you, that's always the hardest week for me to get exercise in too. But most of the time I'm a bum and skip it, glad to hear that push through it and get it done! You rock!! :beerchug:
Keep it up sistah, remember... bikinis soon muh dear!

HI There!!!!

Looks like things are still going well! I havn't been doing as well as I should be, but I'm GOING TO START!!! I swear! We will win that halloween challenge!!!

I would definately say increase calories and keep exercising, rather than further restricting calories. A higher calorie diet with great exercise is actually a healthier way to lose.

entry for 9/21/07

Hey elle and amber, thanks for stopping by.

Tom is almost on its way out and hoping that shows in my weigh in for tomorrow morning.. I haven't touched the scale for a whole week even though it was calling my name and watching my son play on it in the morning.. he kept trying to get me to stand on it... lol I told him mommy doesn't want to see how much she weighs.. so he would step on it.. then giggle..

anyways food was good and a lot more cals then i had planned on but still a good deficit but not as much as i wanted.

Breakfast: blueberry shake (210 cals)
Lunch: 2 turkey sandwiches with light mayo, 3 celery stalks with 2tbsp pb and 1 c. watermelon and 1/2 c grapes (684cals)
dinner: 5 oz tri-tip, 1/2c broccoli, 1/2c. corn, 1/2 c. mac and cheese (501 cals)
snacks/dessert: 6 oz peach/mango yogurt(80cals) and 6 oreo cookies and 8 oz milk (390)

totals: 1,864 cals 238g carbs, 63g fat, 98g protein
exercise: 6 miles in 33 minutes burning 407 cals
cal deficit: 805:doh: had hoped it would be closer to 1000 but nope. Ugh stupid cravings due to tom and cramping suck.. at least its almost over.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Team 1 members if you stop by keep up the great work and lets rock this challenge.. :pumpkin:

Mean Ole Tom!! I am with ya on having a gr8 week! You are doing well
1 more lb then 230's woohoo!!I am routing for ya and I can't wait to see the look on hubby's face!Hope you have a nice Monday and team challange.
Tammy

Look at you Heather!! over 20 lbs lost in 10 weeks!! You rock girl!!!!
Now if you keep going like you have been you will be under 215 by Christmas and the 100's are just a step from there.!! Whoo I can't wait!!!
I am glad I found such a great friend in you. You won't let my obsession with the scale take over me and always there to encourage me. i look forward to our chats on msn and when I feel like slacking I just think about your determination and progress and I am back on the road again!! Not too mention the yummy shakes you are making, I am now addicted and make them a lot more too!!
Hope you are having a great day!!!
Hajni

Keep going Heather - you are worth it! Try to be consistent in your good choices for food and exercise, and that dang weight WILL come off indeed. If I don't lose for a week, I remind myself that if I dropped one egg, I would not toss out the entire carton; instead, I would just clean up that one egg and be careful with the others. Do you get what I am saying? When life throws you a curve and it affects your WL journey, just recognize it as a speedbump and keep on going. Good luck to you!

Thanks to all of you for stopping by my diary.

Newbride- I lost 2.4 lbs this weigh in so it was good but not as much as i thought I would drop due to tom.

Hajni- I'm glad I have made such a good friend from knowing you too. Our chats on msn keep me going too. Like when i don't feel like doing anything productive I think back to all the things we have talked about.

ABBAgirl- thanks for the comments. I am trying to keep consistant with exercise and food. Its a challenge in itself sometimes as I have a 3 year old who likes to have my whole attention most of the day so even getting little tasks like the dishes done are hard somedays.

Anyways, Things are going well here. I haven't posted much as far as how I'm doing on eating and stuff but i promise that I will start doing that everyday from now on. I really need to keep on top of everything so i don't get off track. I have been trying to plan meals out ahead of schedule so i know exactly how many cals and stuff i'm going to be consuming so i can know how many to burn in exercise as i don't want to have too great a cal deficit or put my body into starvation mode at all during this. Well gotta make lunch and get stuff done so i'll update later today as for food and exercise.

Heather...
Congrats on being down 2.4!!!
You're doing awesome hun! Keep it up!
ooooooh!! Question: How do you make your shakes? I keep reading that you're drinking them and they sound super yummy. I think I want to start making some but need some pro-shake-maker advice. lol.
Take care <3

Howdy Heather,
Sorry I have been scarce I have been having major drama at home trying to deal with my son thats WAY out of control!
Congrats on 2.4 lbs your doing great and I can't wait to see ya in the 30's!!
Maybe take pics every 10lbs you lose to see the progress I can never tell
looking in the mirror but pictures really show!Have a nice day tammy

Hey tammy thanks for stopping by in the midst of all the drama going on at your place. I couldn't imagine having to deal with all that. Keep up your spirits up and I hope things get better soon.

Well today was a good day. I can't say for sure what my cal total was as sparkpeople is down again when i wanted to update you guys on here how my food was. anyways today i tried a new food and it was actually pretty good. well not really new as i have ate chicken before but never had ground chicken. I made spaghetti with it and even my mom liked it so much that she's actually taking some of it to work with her tomorrow for lunch instead of eating out. woohoo maybe i'm rubbing off on her yet.. lol :) anyways, i'll update my cals for food and stuff tomorrow but i did get in some exercise today although it wasn't 30 minutes but still good considering i hadn't done any formal exercise in 2 days... shame on me yeah i know... i promise though no more rest days this week. and i plan on getting in a full 30 minutes if not more each day no matter what whether i have to spilt it up or can do it all at once.

exercise: 22 minutes, 3 miles burned 300 cals
food and cal deficit update tomorrow morning. see you all then. goodnight and sleep tight don't let the bed bugs bite... haha my mom used to say that to use everynight when she would tuck us in.

I think it'd be good for both of you if you rub off on your mom. Few things are more encouraging then helping others make changes as well.

Can I ask if you intend to use ground chicken for other things like tacos and I dunno pitas. I have never tried it so I'm not sure if it's very versatile.

Your journal and journey looks pretty interesting so I'll be back.

Will make sure to check and see if you take more rest days j/k

Hi Heather,
WHoo, I guess I have to crack the whip next time I talk to you!!! ;)
Anyway, congrats on having the 22 min. last night. We can all have off days, as long as you are back on... you will do great!!
And congrats on making healthy choices not just for yourself and Alex but your mom as well. Since you are the one doing the cooking, she will benefit from all the yummy and healthy stuff you are eating and support your journey. I am lucky as DH never complains about the low cal. bread or fat free cottage cheese or ff yogurt I buy and he eats those too. There are adjustments I made in my house that my family just have to live with.. LOL. Like using olive oil instead of anything else, or low carb tortilla wraps and low card pita bread, low fat sour cream, ff shredded cheese, low fat tofu...and I can go on. As this is a life-style change, once I reach my goal I still have to maintain my weight I am not going back to the old ways of eating, my family will be used to the healthy stuff.
Anyway, good to see you back to your exercise routine and i am sure you will do great on your weigh in on Saturday.
