Congrats on getting in 22 minutes of
exersices I totally took the day off for exersicing not the diet
part it was to late and being out in the humid air with rain and
not getting home until 9pm I said heck with it.
Did you find out an exact day hubby is coming home? Hope your day

Tammy, Nope we still haven't heard an exact date for when hubby is coming home. I wish I knew so I could get a goal weight in mind you know? Since things are kinda up in the air on that part. I am just working as much as i can to get this weight off.

Hajni, thanks for stopping by and always encouraging me to keep going.

Ladyumbra- Ground chicken is just like ground hamburger meat just not as fat or high in sodium as hamburger meat is. it would work well in tacos and other things of that nature too. Also Ground turkey would too. both are good alternatives for hamburger meat although i still use hamburger meat every now and then and cook it in my george foreman grill.. which allows the fat to drain out instead of staying around the food while it cooks.

Today has been going well. I ate a good breakfast and lunch is yummy as I warmed up some of the leftover food from dinner. Dinner is going to be hamburgers cooked on my grill then veggies and fruit. and i'll have a protein bar for a snack.. lol

Well i'll update later tonight as for exercise and actual totals for cals and stuff. gotta get my son down for his nap here in a few minutes.

Ok, man i just realized that I haven't posted in here since wendesday of last week. Sorry guys I just totally forgot until now after talking to hajni about how diaries seem to help people and ourselves keep on track.

Anyways, I have been doing good. Food today has been good still not sure on the total cals and stuff as i haven't had dinner yet but will update when i eat dinner.
Exercise today was great.. did 45 minutes on the elliptical doing a total of 8.09 miles and burning 582 calories. so 1 day down 5 days left for working out this week.

I weighed in at 237.4 this morning. Puts me at 23.6 lbs down from my start weight here at the forum. I feel great and can't wait to see even more progress.

Oh yeah i set some goals for myself for October:
  1. to get down to 230 by halloween
  2. do 1,200 minutes of cardio for the month
  3. do 3 days worth of weight/strength training per week
  4. drink 8 or more glasses of water a day

If i think of more the i'll add them to my list. Man i wish the sigs could be bigger cause i would add my goals to my sig to remind me each day.

Thanks Amber, I sure hope so. It would be great to have to figure out a new goal for my b-day challenge and all the rest of the stuff i am in. I can't wait to see where i'm at for the end of the halloween challenge this forum has been the greatest help i could have asked for.

I mean i have met some great people on here and made some really good friends although i wish i could one day met them in person but for now talking online has been a blessing to someone like me who hardly talks to other adults besides my mom, hubby, sister and her boyfriend and every now and then my dad besides my best friend who lately hasn't been to available but with 3 kids and dealing with all her family stuff i could see why.

anyways food for today was good as far as cals and stuff go.

breakfast: 1 c. Kellogg's frosted mini wheats, bite size)200 cals). 4 oz of 1% milk (60 cals)and my multivitamin(5 cals)= 265

Lunch: tuna(70cals) on cinnamon raisin bagel(230) and cheesecake w/ cherry topping(637 cals) (desert from the other night when we went out to eat) = 937

dinner: turkey burger w/ 1/2 oz mozoralla cheese and 1tbsp of light mayo on wheat bread(330 cals)and 1 c rice a roni flavored rice(320)= 650

totals: 1,841 cals,240g carbs, 67g fat, 80g protein
exercise: 45 minutes elliptical, 8.09 miles, 582 cals burned
cal deficit: 972 cals not too bad but a little under my 1,000 cal deficit goal for the day.
 
Good evening/very early morning everyone, I'm having trouble sleeping as i'm too excited about planning my trip to see my hubby after having not seen him since July 1st. I'm planning on going up to see him next Monday the 8th and coming back home on the 10th. I really hope he can see some difference in me from the 20+ lbs I have lost so far. Anyways, today was a overall ok day but not the best. I didn't eat all that great today but didn't totally blow it either but i'm sure paying for it with the stomach cramping that i'm getting from the dinner I had tonight.. ugh anyways.. lol i guess thats what you get when you hardly eat fast food like that as often as before.. ugh well i guess i learned my lesson. haha.. lol

Today's food:

Breakfast: berry meledy shake: raspberry, strawberries, blueberries and i think it had blackberries in it too but not sure as it was a mixed bag of frozen fruit. Anyways it was very yummy and filling. and 4 ritz whole wheat crackers with pb smooshed between them.

Lunch: none cause i wasn't hungry

Dinner: 20 chicken nuggets and apple slices with low fat caramel dip. :( my tummy is upset with me after eating this..

snacks: none

Exercise: no formal exercise like on my elliptical but I did walk tons today as I had to do errands to pay bills today. Of course I forgot to put my pedometer when i first got up so it only recorded from the time i left my house till about 10 pm which i walked 9,000 steps. Back on the elliptical and weights tomorrow and may take a tour of our local gym that hubby and i are thinking about joining so we can workout together and ds can play in the daycare on site so we wouldn't be far away from him if something was to happen.

If I do take the tour I will be sure to let you all know how it went and whether we will be joining this month or not. lol :) I can't wait as i was hoping to be able to add some other cardio and weights into my routine besides just my elliptical or dancing that i do for fun.

Well I think thats it oh yeah planning my food for tomorrow.. haha I am putting my menu together now as well as a list of stuff i need to get done tomorrow so i can make sure to schedule time in to exercise as well as play with my little boy so he doesn't feel like i'm just ignoring him. although he is very independent already. likes to do things on his own and not needing mommy's help.

Breakfast: Kiwi-Mango-orange shake
Frozen Mango Chunks, 1 cup
sunnyside farms orange cream yogurt
Sunnyside Farms 1% milk
Kiwi Fruit, 1 cup

snack: 1 cup grapes, 1 cup cantaloupe ( 176 cals, 43g carbs, 1g fat, 3g protein)

Lunch: Turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread and sugar free vanilla pudding =(260 cals, 35g carbs, 8g fat, 14g protien)

snack: Oatmeal raisin granola bar and 1.5 cups honeydew melon (182 cals, 41g carbs, 2g fat, 2g protein)

Dinner: 5 oz boneless pork chop baked, broccoli w/ low fat cheese, 2 cups mixed salad(carrots, cabbage, tomatoes) 2 tbsp Lite Italian dressing (368 cals, 15g carbs, 16g fat, 43g protein)

Water: 120 oz's use 24 oz water bottle and fill it 5 times maybe more due to working out.
Total: 1,324 cals, 203g carbs, 29g fat, 75g protein
Exercise: 45 minutes on elliptical and 15-20 minutes strength training. and tons of walking due to cleaning house.
Cal deficit: ?? (will update later today)

trying to get down to 235 by the time i see dh next week

Well some of you may not know but a few do. I have made plans with dh to go up to Washington where he is currently stationed to visit. Its going to be from Monday October 8th through Thursday October 11th and I can't wait. :jump: I'm like a little kid on christmas morning waiting in anticipation of what i'm going to get. lol :) I am really looking forward to spending time with him and growing closer then we have been in a while besides when he was home in june for 2 weeks. I'm also a little scared that he may not see or notice a difference in how I look as I have only lost 23.6 lbs since starting here on WLF or 25.6 since I last seen the doctor. It will also be the first time the 3 of us have been together as a family without anyone else around to bug us whether it be my family or his or friends of ours. We are however going to go visit my best friend while I'm up in washington with my hubby as she lives about 2 hours from where we are staying but she's in oregon. I can't wait till next week.. i feel like jumping up and down and screaming... lol ahh

anyways, food was good today but wasn't what I had originally planned this morning. lol :)

Breakfast: raspberry shake (190) and a blueberry waffle w/ 1 tsp reduced fat syrup (265)

Lunch: 2.9 oz tuna salad with low fat wheat crackers (150) and a raspberry banana shake (544)

Dinner: 5 oz grilled pork chop(282), and 3/4 cup mixed veggies(greenbeans, carrots, peas and corn)-(50)

snacks: 1 cup cantaloupe(55), 1 cup honeydew melon(61), 3oz baggie of baby carrots(38)


Afterworkout snack: Slimfast optima peanut butter meal on the go bar (220)

Food totals: 1,854 cals, 305g carbs, 30g fat, 101g protein

Exercise: 45 minutes on the elliptical, interval training 8 miles, 660 cals burned
Cal deficit: 1,032 :) at least i hit my target and didn't go over too much... haha

woohoo going to see dh in t-minus 4 days.. woohoo

well the countdown is now on. Today is friday 10/5/07 and I get to see my hubby for the first time since July 1st when we had to say goodbye yet again and send him back to Afghanistan. I'm so glad he's out of harms way and getting the help he needs to come home healthy and happy to me and our son. Anyways, I got confirmation and plane info today from the company that is paying for our plane tickets to go see dh and our hotel expenses which is a relief to me as the tickets along would have cost us 500 dollars with our military discount. and no telling what the hotel would have cost. anyways, I am super excited and can't wait to be able to wrap my arms around my husband and tell him how much i love him in person instead of over the phone.

food today wasn't that great but still pretty good.

breakfast: cinnamon raisin bagel with 1 tbsp butter

Lunch: 2 small turkey wraps(whole wheat) and a mango shake

Dinner: chicken fettacunini alfredao noodles and a small salad and 1 slice of sourdough bread. (??cals cause i didn't eat all the noodles but at all the grilled chicken)

I'm figuring i was at probably about 1500-1700 cals with dinner but since i'm not sure exactly as i didn't eat my whole dinner i brought most of it home as i was full after eating the salad and chicken that i barely touched the noodles.

exercise: 45 minute walk. not sure on cals but total steps for the day was 10,940
 
Keep planning out those menus ahead of time, it really seems to be key to staying on track! Its when we get crunched for time and dont already have a plan that we tend to grab junk.
 
Girl,you have been doing excelent and 25 lbs is a BIG deal and very noticeable!!When I lost like 10-12 lbs I saw no difference really until I hit 20-25 then that was the big stepping stone to keeping up the good work before ya know it you will be 35-45-50 lbs lighter it's so amazing but NOW i am stucl and have been BAD I need HELP grrr I have cheated and ate and ate and haven't hopped on the scale since last SATURDAY cuz I am skerred!Anyway keep me po1sted on your progress and your trip,GL Tammy:hug2:

Hey! Was it as wonderful as you'd hoped ? :beating: I'll just bet you had a grand time together! I'm sure leaving was very hard. Be kind to yourself as your emotions recover from the ups n' downs.

You've done such a great job so far on your WL journey, Heather! Imagine how AMAZING you'll look once DH is done his tour. Wow, will he be pleased to get home to his beautiful, gorgeous, hottie of a wife! ;)
