Thanks: hanji and boam. Yes it is very tough finding time to exercise and eat healthy with a very energitic 3 year old running around. I ususally exercise when he's napping or as sleep for the night since unless i go for a walk outdoors thats the only time i can get it in. like right now i need to go exercise my butt off while he's napping. lol so i will talk to you all later. hope your both having a great day. oh yeah if either of you have yahoo messenger can you give me your screen names so i can add you on there as i am ususally on there more at night then on the forum.
 
Well eating today went great as far as getting in foods that are healthy for me. I managed to hit my target calories for today as far as food goes. I went to the store today and bought a heart rate monitor that calculates my heart rate and tells me the percentage of maximum heart rate that i am working out at as well as calcuating how many calories i burn while doing my workouts. It also has a feature were i can input how many calories i am taking in and then deducts the amount i burned during my workout from the input of food. so that i know exactly how many i am eating per day in all once i have worked out. Not sure how good it really is but a friend of mine had recommended it as she uses hers daily and has lost over 100 lbs since buying hers. I also bought 2 five lb dumbells to add to my weight lifting as i was only using 3 lb dumbells all this time. and need something to use once i start getting used to the 3lb ones or to be able to switch things up every other day.

tonight i am going to use the 5lb ones and see how things go with them since it will be the first time using them.

well i will let you all know how the heart rate monitor works in case you would like to get one of your own. well off to do some exercise since i wasn't able to get in any earlier as soon as i started doing my walking dvd my son woke up from his nap. Although so far for the day based on my pedometer thing i have walked 5.76 miles or 12, 200 steps from 9:30am to 10:41pm so that's not too bad.

Jenna, it really isn't all that fancy it looks just like a watch and has to spots on the top that you put your index finger and middle finger on and hold for a few seconds and it reads your heart rate that way.
I got it at Walmart for 39.99 plus tax and got 2-5lb hand weights for 4.77 each. Oh yeah if you wanna look at what it looks like you can check it out at

here's sunday's food and exercise.

Hello all, so far today has been a pretty good day. I got up at 8:00 or so this morning. I so far have had breakfast and a snack. Lunch will probably be made here in a few minutes and then dinner will be made around 7pm.

breakfast: 2 hard boiled eggs cut up w/ teaspoon mayo mixed in. 4 slices of bacon and 1 slice of white bread (didn't have any more wheat bread in the house). :(

snack: special k cereal bar

Lunch: tuna w/ 1 tablespoon mayo and unsalted crackers

snack: grapes and yogurt

dinner: Chili dogs no bread or bun

exercise: so far 60 crunches/situps mixed and 2 sets of 25 each for bicep curls and triceps. 2 sets of 25 db bench press. and then 2 sets of 15 squats and adductors/abductors for legs and 2 sets of 10 bicycle moves for working out legs. I am planning on doing my 2 mile dvd tonight for cardio later tonight.

Not sure on total calories yet as I haven't added it up. will update later

Congrats on your HRM!! Did you wear it tonight for your cardio? I found mine pretty accurate and a lot better than my treadmill counter. Also found it a great tool in determining my correct heart-rate, it shows when to speed it up or slow it down. The kind I have has a chest-strap. using it greatly improved my running.

This is pretty impressive!!! I always had a hard time trying to reach the recommended 10k steps when I was using a pedometer.

How did it go with the 5 lb dumbells? I just used them the first time yesterday and it kicked my butt!!! I am feeling it everywhere today!!

All the support really means a lot to me. Hajni, yes i am feeling the workout that i did last night with the new weights. I haven't used my hrm tonight for the cardio workout since i haven't done it quite yet but i found it to be pretty accurate today when i did my weight lifting one.

My menu for today was pretty yummy although i haven't ate dinner yet shame on me.. lol since i meant to stay on schedule but alex didn't get up until almost 5 so we had lunch then and he ate something a little while ago for dinner and is almost ready for bed. although so am i.. lol which is weird cause usually i am full of energy. i guess when you have a headache though it can do that to you. but when you have only ate about 1000 cals i guess that probably has something to do it too.
 
Ok well today was really a low cal day for me. i didn't eat lunch or my second snack but did eat dinner and breakfast and a morning snack. i am also not going to do my 2 mile walk tonight cause i got a major migraine that came on earlier and still hasn't gone away and everytime i try to eat it makes me wanna get sick. so i am going to go to bed and then will just eat something extra good tomorrow to make up for today's low calorie eating. hopefully my weigh in goes good tomorrow. i hope to be able to say i am in the 240's by tomorrow morning but i am not sure if i have made it.

will post tomorrow as i am going to bed now with my son who's still awake although he's tired.

I am sorry about your migrane. I never had one but I heard it can be pretty brutal.

I'm sorry to hear about your migraine. :[ I get them too so I know your pain. Have you tried Excedrin migraine? I find if I catch my migraine early enough, like right after my aura it usually helps me a TON. It usually doesn't take the migraine away fully but takes away some of the pain so I can at least function.
Or even (I know it might sound funny but a doctor once told me it) maybe try sitting down for 5 minutes and covering you mouth and nose with your hand and breathing. I forgot the reason behind it but sometimes it makes me feel a teence better.
Just a few suggestions! Hope you got some rest and feel better.

Hajni, I added you to my contact list also. Its cool now we can talk whenever either of us has time since we both know what its like with little ones running around.

Elle, I have taken excedrine before but currently don't have any in the house but i do have tylenol which tends to help but last night it came on so fast i couldn't take anything cause everything that i did made me feel like getting sick. Usually though if i catch it in time i will be able to function if i take a tylenol or something for the pain.

I used to not get them that often but then i wasn't exercising and stuff and now that i am eating healthy and exercising they are coming more often but i think that has to do with the fact that i cut out sodas out of my diet so far its been 5 days since i have had a soda. Hopefully my body will adjust soon and i won't be getting the migraines as often.

Well my weigh in went ok but i didn't get into the 240's like i wanted. I am just so close that I know hopefully i will be there next week. I am now at 250.2 which is 3 lb lost for this week.

well gotta go make breakfast before it gets to late and we get of schedule again.

oh yeah, the headaches. I rarely have them anymore sans the weight loss. Drinking too much beer does it to me but yes, certain changes during a lifestyle change will bring about some headaches but others disappear too - strange, I know.
 
Have you gone to the doctor for your migraines (i have one today too). My general practitioner gave me this med called zomig that you're supposed to take as it comes on. It hasn't been helping me but I'm going to the neurologist on the 16th. Maybe the doctor can give you something to help battle them. They really are horrible.

Congrats on your 3 pound loss... you'll be in the 240's before you know it:hug2:

My migraines have only gotten this bad the last few days cause of the weather change we have experienced here and the fact that i have had no sodas for almost a week now when i used to drink 2 if not more a day. so going cold turkey is a killer.. lol :) Anyways hopefully my body will adjust soon cause i am trying hard to stay away from sodas lots of empty calories there.

anyways food for today:

Breakfast: 6 slices of bacon, 2 hard boiled eggs and 1 vanilla yogurt

Snack: special k cereal bar

Lunch: 6 oz can of tuna drained mixed w/ 1 tablespoon mayo and 5 low sodium crackers

Dinner: 3 piece chicken selects from mcdonalds.

Desert: my major weakness and the one time i will give in this week: 2 scoops of ice cream from baskin robbins ( mint chocolate chip and reese's peanutbutter cup)

Total cals: 1955, fat: 106g, carbs: 136g, protein: 114g

exercise: major cleaning of the house which i forgot to keep track of time so i have no clue how many cals i burned doing that and then a 4.5 mile walk tonight with my mom and son

I have no car tomorrow as my mom's in the shop and she's taking mine so she can go to work so me and my son if we decide to go anywhere will be walking. lol :) i gotta love walking with my son in his stroller cause he relaxes and falls asleep easier for me when its nap time.. haha well of to bed for me its 12:44am and 8 am comes early since i am trying to get up before him to get in some cardio before he wakes then when he's napping will do some weights and abs then my walking wherever we need to go tomorrow
 
ok todays was a strange day

well first of yesterday i spent almost all day cleaning thinking that it was tuesday so today i was so bored out of my freaking mind it wasn't even funny. add to the fact that I didn't have a car and had a very energentic 3 year old to deal with made it hard to go anywhere since he refused to be in his stroller. anyways today's food was somewhat good but since i totally forgot about lunch my cals are right at the lowest i would like them to ever get

today:
breakfast: 2 hard boiled eggs w/1 tbsp mayo and 13 scoops chips
snack:1 dannon light and fit yogurt
Lunch: none totally forgot about it as i wasn't hungry from breakfast
snack: grapes- 25
dinner 3 oz chicken breast with shake and bake honey mustard sauce and 1/2cup mixed peas and corn and 1/2 cup mashed potatoes( although my son ate most of them) with 1tablespoon on the mashed potatoes and 1 tablespoon for the veggies to be steamed in

totals for today: 1201cals, 51g fat, 109g carbs, 80g protein.

exercise: 60 crunches, 60 reverse crunches and 15 mini push-ups and then 3 mile walk.

so all in all it wasn't a bad day. tomorrow's a new day and alex has a appt in the morning so time to go to bed since we have to wake up early. well off to bed see you all in the morning and sorry i didn't post in everyone's diary today even though i would normally try to. Hope you all had a great day and one tomorrow too

May I ask what the reverse crunch is? I don't think I ever done one of those.
