Miss Princess's diary

Found it. Drank it. And I was a pretty good girl today. I need the threatening to keep from sabotaging myself, thanks ladies! I also rode my bike again today. I had to take the long way since my normal road is closed, but I only rode one way (the harder direction at least) because it was raining when it was time for me to leave so I got a ride from a friend. I'm slowly accumulating my exercise for today. I need to do upper body weights today, it's been almost a week since I've weight trained 'cuz I was on vacation and then just doing cardio since I've been back. If I go more than a week I start "softening" up again. :( I'll get on that tonight for sure. Plus I'm gonna have the totally unrealistic back-of-my-mind goal of losing 6 pounds in a week. Unsafe? Yes. Crazy? Yes. Hoping that I've just been "retaining water" and I'm really not at 205? Also YES. See, the pipe dream here is that the 203 I saw before vacation was on its way down anyway (which it was for one day, I did get a 202 reading, but since I only saw it once, I didn't believe it). Then I would only REALLY be trying to lose 3 pounds in a week, and really that's in 2 weeks since I weighed that, so all this weight "gain" has been a bad dream and once I pee it all out I'll be skinny, right? Crazy, I know. That's why it's a pipe dream. But anyway, that's what I'm shooting for, and if I even get down to 202 for real I'll feel better.

Sorry for the stream-of-consciousness writing here, but it's my journal anyway, so I guess I'm not that sorry.:D Have a great evening all!

Calories so far today (before dinner) 1185 out of 1850 allowed.

ROFL! :D I think you've been hanging around me and Cassie too long! :D I know what you are talking about. I actually saw 201.5 on the scale once, but I didn't believe it either. Now I am back to 207! If threatening is what it takes, then I'm gonna come over and kick your butt if you don't eat healthy and exercise!! :p

I'll be good, I promise. I'm going out for Japanese food tonight, and I'm a sucker for tempura (which is just fancy fried food anyway) so I'll have to budget my calories REALLY conservatively since I don't have a clue how many calories are in that stuff I eat there. My action plan is to have miso soup first though so I fill up on low-cal stuff first. I'm also going to share the tempura with 2 guys, so hopefully I won't get too much of it! Then I'm going to eat some veggie maki (rolls) I think. Sushi rolls (sushi is just the word for vinegared rice, not all sushi contains fish, but it can) have on average 275 calories per entire roll (which is then usually cut into 8 pieces). I can eat 2 of those before I'm stuffed, so I'm gonna budget myself 1000 calories I think. I seriously doubt I could go over that, and I definitely don't want to be wrong!

I did do upper body strength training last night, and my total calories for yesterday were 1725.

Hey MP, stopping in to say hey. Can you believe I got to this weight and have NEVER had Japanese food? lol. Hope you enjoyed it!

I have also never eaten Japanese food.....but I love chinese! Good idea to plan out how to attack you dinner...that way you feel like you ready for anything! Good luck !

I think Japanese food is one of the best you can go out to dinner for if you are trying to lose weight. They have so many selections to choose from that are low cal. And the whole experience is healthy. You really take your time eating so you can savor the flavors. And the food is so pretty that makes you want to take your time even more.

I highly recommend it...the other night we went out for sushi and I had the Japanese Clear Broth (which is like zero calories) a California Roll (about 280) and an Avocado and Cucumber Roll (about 260 calories). And I was stuffed!!!

Hope you have a great weekend missprincess!!!!

It could have been worse. I love Japanese food. It usually is quite light. I say usually since there is that deep fried devil they call tempura too. I usually stay away from noodle dishes too since they're higher in calories. Well, I saved up 1005 calories for that excursion, and I may have come in under that until we went to a friend's son's graduation party & I ate 2 pieces of chocolate cake. No layers, not huge, but still two pieces. I don't know what the damage was, but I could take a stab at it: dinner - miso soup (soy broth based, very light) probably under 100 calories, about 1/3 of 5 different kinds of sushi rolls - this probably comes out around 500 calories, veggie tempura - broccoli, onion & sweet potato, no idea on the calories, but it wasn't very much since 3 of us shared one appetizer order, so, let's say 200 cal (total guess), plus a little ice cream (less than 1/2 cup) and some fried banana (about 1/4 of a banana in tempura batter), we'll have to call that 200 calories too, there's my 1000 calories. Plus two smallish to medium sized pieces of single layer cake with whipped cream frosting. No less than 300 calories for both, no more than 400 I'd say. That brings me to over 2000 calories for that day, and all of it after 6pm! But I did sit on my stationary bike and ride it for an hour and a half during a movie afterward.

Saturday was better, I only ate 1800 calories. Plus I walked 3 miles and did the "get ripped" DVD which is about 50 minutes of total body weight training. Today I probably won't be over budget either, but I am hungry. I can't lift weights two days in a row, but I had a lazy softball practice today and spent an hour alternating between batting, pitching, and chasing a ball around a rocky field. Probably doesn't count for much exercise. I'll do something else tonight.

We'll see how it all pans out on Monday, I'm trying to be really active & maybe that'll keep me humming along.

I'm sure that didn't set you back at all. That hour and a half on the exercise bike probably made the chocolate cake a wash. Don't even give it another thought!!! You're doing great!!!

Looking good. Keep it up and good for you trying to stay active.. I gotta get your motavaiton and do differnt things all the time. Have a WONDERFUL Day. Don't forget your WATER:p

I agree with Scarlett. Staying on that bike for so long helped to burn off some of the calories that you were over. I think we both seem to have bodies that simply do not want to let go of the 200s! What's up with that? :p Lol! :D

Good morning! It is a pretty good morning too! I'm back at 203 today. See, I knew I didn't need to change my ticker. :p I'm not gonna screw it up this time either! (I'll wait until this weekend for that  ) I'm going to try to behave myself this weekend, but it's a special trip and I don't know how I'll fare. I will have the chance to be extra active though (except for 7 hours of driving - I'll have to do a lot of isometric butt & ab squeezes to get some exercise in during the drive!)

I didn't do more exercise than softball practice (which was hardly a challenge) yesterday, but I did only eat 1780 calories (which was only a little light for my current goals) and maybe one day of semi-rest won't kill me. I went to the movies by myself yesterday AND managed to avoid the popcorn. That was very encouraging. I like popcorn. Nice and greasy too. I can't understand why I like to eat something that in principle seems so gross. The fake butter they put on popcorn is nothing more than artifically colored, artifically flavored oil, and probably not any "heart healthy" types of oil at that. Plus the sheer amount of salt on movie popcorn is enough to bloat me just thinking about it. Still, it's finger-lickin' good. BUT NOT ANYMORE! I didn't eat any yesterday through strength of will (not my usual tricks of leaving my wallet in the car), and I'm really proud of myself for it!

No slacking today, I need to run & lift weights. Plus I've started going to work an hour earlier, so I'll need to get it all done early enough to go to bed on time! Here goes!

Good luck today! I need to run and lift weights today too. I'll probably do the lifting sometime soon.

As for popcorn, it is so gross but so good. Whenever I'm in the mood to eat something bad for me, I ask myself, and how was this made. It doesn't work for everything, but for some things, I throw it back in the cupboard right away.

You sound like you had a good time at the movies (or "pictures" as we call them here heh). What film did you go to see and did you enjoy it?:)

I went to see X Men 3. That Hugh Jackman is such eye candy! :D I thought it was fun. Mostly mindless fun, but good fun nonetheless. Let's see, that was Monday's entry, and I guess I missed posting yesterday. I've been sticking to my 1850 calorie goal more or less each day (one day over by 37 one day under by 76). I was kinda lazy in the exercise department yesterday, but I managed to eek some out. I rode my bike that easy 2 miles that I never count as "exercise" unless I'm lacking anything else to report. And then I didn't want to work out last night, but I made myself sit for 20 minutes and pedal my exercise bike and 20 minutes jumping on my mini trampoline. All this while watching a strange old movie (funny mostly, but how times & humor have changed!)

Today I walked/jogged 2 miles, but with a new running buddy, and she's a little behind me in terms of fitness, she'll get there I know, but I need to do some more cardio today I think. I didn't really push myself. I don't want to be critical at all since I remember being at that level, and it wasn't really that long ago either! So I'm just enjoying whatever I'm doing and trying to add more in wheneve possible.

Official weight at the doctor's office AFTER breakfast and FULLY clothed = 203. Pretty good since I usually weigh myself mostly naked and before eating in the morning. I find that to be the most consistent way to do it. I've actually weighed myself just before & after undressing and it can make 5 pounds of difference (especially w/ shoes or winter clothes). Today's clothes were summery and probably not more than a pound, but I'll take it! I did see something that looked like 202 this morning but since I'm waiting for 2 days' confirmation, I'll see what it says tomorrow. I don't want to get ahead of myself!

Great news at the Drs office weigh-in!! I am adamant about weighing myself first thing in the AM with little to nothing on. The fact that you are 203 in spite of the time and the clothes is fantastic! Great job!

Sounds like you are doing great. Doctors weights are always about 4-5 pounds more for me. I think part of it may be a that they don't have a digital scale like mine. I'm not sure which is right, but I'm going with mine :p

As for Xmen 3, it sounds like you had fun. The love of my life went with his girlfriend to see that  and he said it was pretty good. Long story :)

Well congrats and you seem to be doing really well.

I want to see the X-men film too and the new Pirates of the Caribbean one as well. I like action adventure films like that though I tend to get motion sickness at the cinema for some reason.:(

Don't worry about not getting as much exercise in as you'd like! It all adds up in the end!;)

Hey MP! Good job on the running today! And woo hoo for weighing 203 after breakfast and with clothes! You are going to be the 100s before you know it! :D
