Yesterday i had quite the experience of a lifetime thats for sure. Went tubing at a conservation area close to home. This tubing was not the typical tubing you would think of though, it was actually through the main river that runs through my town and the others surrounding it. Anyways, when you first start out tubing down this river there are some nice big rapids to go through and it looked fun so of course im guna try it. Well, i go and i get stuck in something they call an Eddy...unfortunately the violent water kind. My boyfriend comes by me and grabs my leg trying to pull me out of it but no luck before the current continues him on his way. Then a kid comes by and goes right under me with his tube and pops back up on the other side with no problem and im still stuck in this damn Eddy. So im struggling and struggling to get out and keep going and then i get flipped over and jolted thru the rapids under water with only little gasps of air in between. I finally get out of the rapids very flustered, choking on water, and disoriented and someone hands me my tube and i manage to make it over to a shallow spot to collect my thoughts. I stand up and see a huge gash on my knee that still hasnt stopped bleeding and is extremely sore to the point of making me nauseated. I stood up and seriously had to say to myself..."am i really alive" because that was the most scariest moments of my life yet and i dont wish even my worst enemy to go thru that.
Needless to say, i will not be doing my intervals or any kind of leg exercises today and possibly for the next week until i heal a bit more. I may try to get in some abs or arm stuff tho. Anyone have any suggestions?
