Hello everyone,

On the advice of Scarlett I decided to start my own diary. I have been struggling with my weight since I have been 14 years old and I went from a size 14 to a size 8 now. My goal is a size 6. I got these cute pants capris actually from Old Navy I want to fit back into again. I have been up and down and yo yo dieting for years. I tried it all Slim Fast, Diet pills, Liquid diets, no exercise mind you I wanted to take the lazy way out of losing wieght. Only to discover there was no easy way out and I had to change my lifestyle. I stopped eating fried foods, became a vegetarian. ( I am no longer one) but I still cut back my red meat intake. I drank lots of water and walked. I also loaded up on the veggies and fruits and stopped snacking altogether. I did a total clean sweep of my old ways. I also stay away from pop and sugary drinks. I try to avoid the bad card killers like white rice and cake and pizza. I am also a recovering Anorexic who has changed her mindset into believing there is more to life than being thin. I used to skip meals, count calories and fats, you name it, I did it, heck I even bought a jogging suit that made me sweat constantley to loose weight. I am trying to loose 20lbs the right way so wish me luck all. HUGS :eek:

PS I walked over a mile and a half today too
 
Hi Mia, and so glad you started your diary. It sounds like you have made all the right and healthy changes!!! You sound like a textbook success story!!! So happy for you! :D :D :D

And those last twenty will come off, we can chase them away together.

Mia, how tall are you? If its safe, I will definitely help with the last 20 - you already know my fears on the why's of it all. PLEASE don't think I am discouraging you - only concerned :eek:

NP I am 5'4 and I weight 156lbs. right now :) and I totally understand BizB. The doctor said my ideal weight for my height is around 130lbs. I would be very content with that as well. I am going to an Italian resteraunt tonight with my hubby and my friends and I already decided no dessert for me. (Desserts are my major weakness) OMG Tiramasu, it's tough but I can do it.

Well I did great last night out at dinner with my friends and husband. Not only did I order no fried foods, I also refrained from dessert. My friends and I went to see Pirates of the Carribean II last night and I had no popcorn or snacks, just bottled water to drink and rum and coke lol! I am very pleased with myself and my restraint. I have to go run and do laundry now but I will be back. :eek:
 
Glad you checked with doc Mia :D OMG'ness! I LOVE tiramisu!!! SO bad for you But SOOO good! You did great! Proud of ya! :D
 
WOW, you're doing good with facing temptation Mia. Just remember when you reach your goal, all those things that you love will still be available and you will have room to budget them into your maintenance plan upon occasion. And they will taste much better then!!!

Well I had a pretty good weekend and I did great on eating. I ate salads and low fat fajitas over at a friend's house. The only naughty thing I had was pop. It was either pop or eat a brownie so I chose the lesser of two evils. I went and saw Pirates of the Carribean Two with my friends and the movie rocked! Tonight I am going to have to work on getting a signature and avatar. Still have not found an exercise plan that I need to stick too, but at least I have the food plan down pact. Anyone that can pass on Tiramisu is pretty strong. You flexed some serious diet biceps on that deal.

Hello and Hugs

Okay I got this idea from Gothika's diary and that is to start tracking the food I eat.

Today I had

For Breakfast: A bowl of Honey Nut Shredded Wheat with Skim No Fat Milk
Total Calories, 230, Total Grams of Fat 1.5
Plus two cups of coffee with non fat creamer

For Lunch: A cup of lowfat yogurt and a yogurt smoothie
Total Calories, 430 Total Grams of Fat 1.5

For Dinner: A can of Campbell's Ravioli Portobella Mushroom Soup
Total Calories,130, Total Grams of Fat 3

If I get really ravenous during the day, I have my cereal "dry" as a snack. I am not hungry and so far I do not feel starved at all. :p

Plus I walked a mile today! I have to worry about Saturday coming up. There is a picnic with lots of temptations but I know I can hang strong.

How many pounds in weight do you normally lift?

Thought I'd answer this from my diary here in yours. I just use this little three pound hand weights. I'm not trying to really build a lot of muscle, just kind of tone up my arms, you know?

Okay today I started out with no breakfest and 4 cups of coffee with non fat creamer in them, ( I know shame on me I should have had breakfest and I just chatted with T2Trucker almost all morning in live chat).

I also had my yogurt and yogurt smoothie for lunch

1 apple and 1 banana

Some dried cereal as a snack

Dinner is going to be a challenge, my husband is taking me out to a Chinese resteraunt tonight and trying to find healthy food there is going to be a real pain in the buttox. I will skip ordering soup and the eggroll, which I normally get and just eat the main course without the rice. At least it's not a Chinese buffet, I tend to gorge a little on buffet style meals, but I am slowley learning to stop that. Until next time HUGS xxx ooo
