MGB's Diary: "Clean Your Plate," they said.

So here I am, sitting at my computer with my oscillating fan blowing through my nappy hair. (It's been a hard day with the heat and I'm greasy looking.) My look screams, "Yes... I smell the way I look." hahaaa! So not hot, but who gives a damn, right?

For those of you not in "the know," Jenna and I first started talking to one another at the President's Challenge that Mal had posted. I decided to leave this post at Jenna's journal, because she's been a major inspiration to me. Honestly, I believe this challenge helped me to really get on track with my workouts and pushed me beyond what I thought were "my limits." Today, I just earned myself a Bronze award and as silly as that may sound, I'm so proud of myself. This is the first time that I actually took part in anything really physically challenging during my weight loss journey. (Softball and MMA training as exceptions) It freaking feels amazing! :D Anyways, off to my accomplishments:

Workout:
- Brisk Walk (60 mins)
- Power 90 Sculpt 1-2 (30 min)
- Turbo Jam-Cardio Party (43 min)

Meals:

Breakfast:
- oatmeal and strawberries
- bowl of kiwi, cantaloupe and grapes with 1% cottage cheese (415 cal)

Snack:
- Ghetto Banana Burrito with 2 tbs peanut butter (415 cal)

Lunch:
(Thanks to Amber and her delicious meals, I had to copy her!)
- Round steak with green bell peppers, onions, and mushrooms with part skim mozarella cheese on a hoagie roll (It was DELICIOUS!) (470 cal)

Snack:
- cantaloupe slices with a fig
-1.5 c 1% milk (230 cal)

Dinner:
- Rosemary and Garlic Roasted Chicken with red potatoes and green beans
(420 cal)

Total Calories: 1,950 calories (1990-2340)
President's Challenge Points Earned: BRONZE Medal awarded, Baby!
Notes: I haven't quite reached my calories for the day, but damn.. I'm really full at the moment. Being that it is hot, I may have to enjoy myself a Fudgsicle (In honor of ellebelle) or two... haha I'm trying to go to bed earlier, because this staying up late is for the birds. :) My poor old body won't allow it for too much longer. haha Oh.. and another thing, I'm going for silver now! WOOOT! Wishing you all a wonderful night!

-Sheryl

I'm soo proud of you... you've been putting my workouts to shame... damn and you get up at 5am!!! WTG you deserve it. Your a total inspiration for me!

And it a damn fudgcicle... those things are sooo good! I love them... you would never know they were "diet"!

You'll get that silver soon!:hug2: :hug2:

If I start swimming now from Australia will I make it in time for pumpkin pie at Thanks Giving? Amber, can you send a list of the ingredients, it is just that there seems to be some rather 'unsavory recipes' around these days!!! :)

As long as the sharks don't eat you for their Thanksgiving dinner!:rotflmao:

I'm glad you enjoyed your steak hoagie. Everyone enjoyed them for dinner tonight here. My husband and 3 of his friends and one of my friends were all over. Between the 6 of us, we ate 9 eight inch hoagies!! Plus zucchini and baked lays with dip. Ah...good food.

Hi Sheryl, I seen you around, just wanted to say I appreciate all the nice things you say to people and I found pg 1 very interesting--my friends live on Big Island and I visited them 3 times, which isn't bad for a poor girl ;) Course I didn't have to pay to stay there, I slept in a shack in Holualoa. I sure do miss all the wonderful fresh fruit....sigh....anyway, I'm looking and liking what I see! Keep it up, you're gonna get to your goal!

Girl, I need to pass by your diary more often...lol...I can definitely look at your nutrition and get an idea of how much I'm suppose to be eating because right now I'm having problems with that...I think that eating 4 times a day isnt enough, eventhough i feel full and fine, but like you said...It's going to hurt me down the line..Your doing an awesome job with both your nutrition and your workout...I just need to work on my nutrition a little bit and I'll be fine..lol...Well, Just passed by to wish you the best of luck and to say CONGRATS on Bronze Metal for the President's Challenge.:)

Yay!! :] You are awesome chicka!

You are doing fantastic. Where do you find the energy? I have to chug a Red Bull around 3pm every day just to be able to get through my workout and mommy duties after work each day. Congratulations on the weight loss and President's Challenge. I joined but haven't been keeping up with my points. I need to get back to doing that.

I think I exercise alot till I see what everyone else does...How's the fam in hawaii ??? And your going were to see who - ha ha ha

Hey beautiful.. thanks for dropping in again. My family's doing rather well. I'm planning to head to Hawaii this Christmas (because I can't deal with east coast winters at all... haha) to surprise my parents and grandma not only with just being at the doorsteps, but being a bit smaller as well. woot!

I have extra vegies if anyone wants to try Sheryl's Zuch bread recipe...

Soli

My zuch bread brings all the boys to the yard... and they're like, it's better than yours.. damn right, it's better than yours... I can teach you, but I have to charge.

Hey MGB. Thanks for the MILF comment! Lol! Do you have a big week planned?

Ummm so I'm looking at your new avatar... yah, MILF is most definitely fitting, Amy. Yowzers! As for this week, I'm actually just busting my ass working out a bit. However, this weekend me and the husband are going to a Tosser/ Dropkick Murphy's show, so I'm excited! WOOT! Not all too sure what I'm going to wear, but I'm sure it'll be along the lines of pinup curvy biznatch. WOOT!

Thanks a lot, girl! I get up at 5am, so that I can get at least 1/2 of my workout finished by the time Sean has to leave for work... and also, it's so much cooler at that time. haha

As for fudgsicles, they're delicious and guilt free! It just takes me back to the days of sitting in front of the tv watching Transformers with my big ol glasses that I used to wear off the very end of my nose. (If you look at my pix, somethings never change... LOL)

Woot! Another Senior member! Nanner nanner, everyone else! haha jk Thanks so much for the kind words. As for the Big Island, that's one of my favorite places. They have some of the best fresh fruit stands: pineapples, mangoes, coconuts, starfruit, etc. Damn I miss Hawai'i.

GI can definitely look at your nutrition and get an idea of how much I'm suppose to be eating because right now I'm having problems with that...I think that eating 4 times a day isnt enough, eventhough i feel full and fine, but like you said...It's going to hurt me down the line..
***Johanna***

Hey girly... actually, everyone's body is different. I've gotten to the point where I have to consume a lot of calories (protein/ carbs) due to my workouts. I eat 5 times a day.... and well others feel a bit more comfy with eating only 3 large meals a day and small snacks in betw/. To each their own. You just need to find what works for you. Also, you're doing so well and I'm proud of you, little mama. Gotta give your girl an update with your next weigh in, ok?

Mucho Congratulations! you are a total rockstar!!

tee hee! Thanks a lot, Mal! I have you to thank for posting the challenge in the first place. :)

YAY SHERYL!!

Hi Sheryl!

Congrats on all of your successes! *happy dance for you* :)

Hope your day is going well and you are staying cool!

Thanks so much, Bethann. By the way, I told my husband what I want to be for Halloween '08 and he decided he wants to go as GI Joe. hahaaa! For those not in the know: Halloween '08- Cobra's The Baroness..

Hey Sheryl,
Sorry it took me so long to pop in and say hi! This is the first time my computer has managed to be on for something other than work since I last responded to you in my journal. Congrats on the bronze! Thats totally awesome. :D

Yikes... don't go overworking yourself, Sunny. haha Thank you so much for dropping in and the congrats.

Awww thanks, Alee. You're a doll.

-Sheryl

PS the attachment is my Halloween costume for 2008. HA!

What's good Miz Booty? I heard you won bronze in some challenge?! Wow, that IS cool :). WTG woman! Wish I could say the same for myself .

Today was muggier than a motherf*cker. Ick. I woke up at 5am, because I had a feeling the day was going to suck horribly. We were expected to have a high 80s, possible 90 with a 40% chance of T-storms. Instead the clouds just grew slowly, keeping all moisture in the air. I pretty much had my oscillating fan taped to my ass crack all day. So, since I need to take yet another shower, I'm just going to list today's accomplishments now.

Workout:
- Power 90 Sweat 1-2 (36 min)
- Ab Ripper 100 (4.5 min)
- Grappling/ Sparring (35 min)
- Winsor Pilates Abs (23 min)

Meals:

Breakfast:
- oatmeal with strawberries
- kiwi with grapes and 1% cottage cheese (490 cal)

Snack:
- Thomas Whole Grain Bagel with 2 tbs peanut butter
- small banana
- 1c 1% milk (670 cal)

Lunch:
- diced rosemary chicken breast (leftovers) and veggie (green bell peppers, onions, zucchini)pasta with shredded part skim mozarella cheese (535 cal)

Snack:
- 3 cantaloupe slices (60 cal)

Dinner:
- whole wheat spaghetti
- chicken breast with tomatoes
- 2c 1%milk (640 cal)

Total Calories: 2,390 calories (1990-2340)
President's Challenge Pts: 769 pt
Notes: So I ate 50 calories over... oh well. Then again, I did a very heavy training session during grappling. I had a very active day today, because well... I just got so damn bored. HA! Weird.. I never thought I would say I'd choose to workout over vegging out at home. Yah me! Well, I'm calling it an early night, everyone. Wishing you all a great day/ night.

-Sheryl

Hunny, you are nuttier than a damn snickers bar! A fan taped to your ass crack.., that is too f'n funny :rotflmao:. Have a good night mami.
