Maryann's trail....Rotation Diet "version"....

Phew, I don't think I could eat so few calories! 1500 seems low some days! Not that I am actually HUNGRY but my brain wants to eat haha. I will one day have to try the apple slices and PB thing but it seems like it adds up to a good amount of calories (apple 100 calories, PB 80 calories for one tbsp equals 180 already and I don't think 1 tbsp of PB would cover an apple!)

Hi Folks - happy Snowy Wednesday ( snowed here again- go figure...ha ha ha...)

Hi Mystic - yes the 1,200cal days are quite low- I get fairly hungry by late afternoon - but I manage to get thru them with lots of tea with milk, and high-fibre snaks -

- I did the IBM body weight simulator that Mr.Vee recommended - & it gave me 1,400cals/day to lose 2lbs./week..

- I've been alternating 1,200cals/day with 1,600cals/day- which puts me exactly at the average of 1,400/day...and seems to be working so far... ( per Chris Powell hi/low carb plan I saw on Dr.Oz)- but everyone is different - different ages, genetics, activity levels...best to go with what works for U ! - younger folks need a lot more calories than us "mature" people... (our bodies/metabolisms slow with age)...sheesh..

- High fibre snack - the apple sliced up+peanut butter- I use 1 tablespoon peanut butter ( 90 cals ) & "dip"/scoop the peanut butter using an apple-slice...quite filling - I find the fat in the peanut butter really fights off hunger well for me.

well.....today going pretty good 4 me !

exercise: 45mins.snow shovelling, and off to do my 1/2hr treadmill now

food: budget: 1,600cals today - total 1,283...so have some cals for a snack of fruit/protien in the evening - yay.

I am off on a little vacation on Friday ( Orlando-Disneyworld - yay ! ) ....

my plan - 1/2hr walk everymorning at the resort before heading out for the day - listen to my Fat2Fit podcasts while walking

( to burn a bit of cals- perk up the metabolism - and keep "healthy" ideas in my brain).. while faced with all the junk-food treats in the theme parks.

Wishing everyone a great day filled with healthy choices, ...

time to go do some packing... likely won't have chance to post over the next while... so wishing everyone a great Week too !

cheers, Maryann C.

We got snow here too!!!

God job today. I think I will try the apple and PB today for a snack!!

Have fun on you vacation!!

AHey ya Maryann,
Hope you had a wonderful, warm, fun vacation! Wasn't it nice to be thinner this year?! Looks like you have a good plan going into it, and I'm sure you'll get some good exercise before, during and after the park! They do have some healthy choices at the parks from what I remember, but they are a little pricey..
Wishing you continued good choices and continued momentum...it's easier to stay on track than to try to get back on..that, plus the mirror and the scale keep me motivated during traveling and trips. I've got a c
Vacation coming up in Feb., I don't have a weightloss goal per say by then, just want to look and feel good so that I can get 110% out of the vacation!
Looking forward to hearing and seeing. (Photo's,please!) your vacation!

Sarah

AHey Maryanne,

I'm back from my month away, and it looks likeyou've been doing great. How cool to be fitting smaller pants etc.

Did you get some exercise equipment for at work? And how was disneyworld?

We actually came up to Canada on our holiday, an had memorial weekend in victoria on Vancouver island. We went whale watching and hung out with a pod of orca for about an hour. I thought Victoria was beautiful.

Hope you are well Anna

Hi Maryann, Hope your vacation was wonderful! I miss your cheery pics!Cheers, xo Cate

Hi folks - I am back - hope everyone is doing well - I need to catch up on all the posts...
...and wow - the site is changed over - was a bit of a challenge getting log-in re-set....but think it worked today...
Vacation was great - I'll try & post a couple pictures...
- I did manage to do my morning walks on 6 of the 8 mornings - ....was nice to get outside early , before the hotel grounds got really busy - there was a nice lake-shore walkway that I did & I was pretty good on the food ( much better than previous holidays)... & even the bit of weight loss I did manage this fall really helped how I felt.
- good to be back - Monday is back to work , back to calorie counting & back to treadmill - & starting to get Xmas stuff ready.......

Hey Maryanne!
Welcome back! I really missed your fun and encouraging posts! I'm sure the overcast and cold weather is not so welcome right now, but, hey, we gotta have that to really appreciate the warm weather don't we? (I keep telling myself that as I navigate outside here in Shenyang right now...brrr it's -25c outside now!).
Good job on only being 1 pound up...in vacations past, If you're like me the damage was much worse! I'm also glad you noticed the difference in the way you felt...that makes all the difference and keeps me motivated. Now, you can get back to your routine and get the treadmill humming, your eating with good healthy choices and keep on coming down..one pound at a time!
Thanks a lot for your comments on my thread...I went to a Christmas party and wore a red Chinese dress..I'll get a pic up as soon as I upload.

Again welcome back, and good choices to you my friend!

Sarah

Hi Maryann, Good to see you back & thank you for posting your pics. Glad you had a great time! xo Cate

Hi, MaryannC - good for you for a successful trip and for sticking with your healthy eating plans.
I've seen your posts on the Rotation diet topic - looks like you are finding success with the low carb, high carb version. I'm doing another rotation and am doing it somewhat Free style (If you know what I mean) Keep up the good work!

tonite - planning to bake View attachment 19297 some of these -
promise to myself - have ONLY ONe shortbread cookie- then FREEZe rest...
Exercise today: 1 hour shovelling snow
Calories today: will be around 1,600 for the day - ok
plan - make it thru the Xmas holidays with WEIGHT maintain .....NOT GAin - ...still have the 1pound I picked up on Florida trip...am hoping to try & get it off this week - but if not, will just try & keep up healthy choices , include daily exercise ...and shoot for weight maintain thru Xmas....
~ I did order a step-exerciser on-line -will arrive jan.2 - it's a nice compact one - planning to take it to work - then can exercise in back-room in our dept. on my lunch breaks - ( mix it up a little from my tread-mill at home) & too cold outside these days to do my outside walks at noon.

cheers all, hope everyone doing ok with Xmas rush & food starting up,

Maryann

Nice to see you back here, and I think it's a great idea to plan to maintain over Xmas.

Those treats all look yummy, better put up some pics of yummy veges and fruit too!

Hi folks- Happy Thursday ! View attachment 19302

Hi Anna - yes - good reminder to keep focused on healthy choices ...to help avoid bad Xmas stuff - ...think healthy, think healthy.....

Good day today - am down 1/2 pound ( maybe all the snow-shovelling I did yesterday helped.)

Exercise today - did 1/2hr treadmill, will do 2nd 1/2hr later tonite.
food- Budget of 1,200 cals today - plan is 1,165- so should be good.

supper- having my homemade tomatoe soup ( good - low-call- fill me up supper)
View attachment 19303

snacks - am sticking to mandarin oranges ( good high-fibre, low cal treat )(I just love them this time of year)

Hope everyone having a good day - managing with the "busy" of Xmas , and temptations of all the rich food & treats everywhere,

cheers, Maryann C.

Hey Maryanne,
I think that will be my plan too..maintain over the next 2 weeks! I still don't plan to have any refined sugars..I know myself well enough to know that will push me over the edge! Hope to keep lots of exercise in the agenda and those good fruits and nuts to keep me satisfied!
Good choices to you my dear!
Sarah

Hi Sarah !
View attachment 19306 Yes, I agree that to try & lose weight over Xmas is just not realistic ! not any fun either ! ... I like your idea to avoid sweets all together, enjoy the turkey, and steer to fruit/nuts when the baking comes out... great idea - think I will try it this year & see how I do ....
..great way to avoid a LOT of those Xtra Xmas calories ! ....& I think it might be easier to just avoid sweets all together..rather than trying to control myself to just one or two...( that rarely works !) ..

~ & yup - will try & make a point of the tread-mill each morning ( it worked well in Florida to get up a bit early and do my walk before the day started - it helped set my mind on a healthy-mode right from get-go each AM - and made it easier to keep that trend thru the day).

...so ...here's to lots of mandarin oranges, some lovely pecans, almonds, and tread-mill each morning - to get thru Xmas with my smaller-size pants still fitting ! View attachment 19307

cheers,
maryann C.

Hi all - yay - Friday ! Scale was kind this morning - the Florida pound is finally gone - yay.

thx for the encouragement Anna - this week was hectic for me- needed a boost ! -thankyou. :santa:

View attachment 19318 Plan for this weekend - bake, decorate, gift-wrap.....
.... ? wonder how many calories you burn wrapping gifts & muttering about the "work" of Xmas...lol.

calories today: budget is 1,600 .... will be at 765 with brkfst & lunch...so should be fine
exercise: plan for usual - 2 x 1/2hr treadmill sessions ( no snow overnite - so no snow-shovelling today-thank goodness.)

.... so - patience & faith in the process does work - just gotta keep making those healthy choices until the scale catches up & smiles for ya...

Wishing everyone a nice Friday with good choices,
Cheers, Maryann
