Happy Sunday ! View attachment 19396

~ have a bit more housework to do this morning (the vacumning)- ( more calorie burn-yay ) - ?? who ever thought I'd be "happy" about housework .... puts a whole new light on things when U look for stuff to burn calories... lol

~ got some snow over-nite- so there's also snow-shoveling on my agenda today....

~ then tonite- Xmas dinner at sister-in-laws... cabbage rolls & perogies yummy (Yes- I am Ukrainian - we love all the bad food groups- butter, cream on everything... ) - I will try my usual eating-out strategy- fill plate 1/2full with salad first, then rest just on the remaining 1/2plate. - will try to avoid starchy foods-stick to protein & veg & fruit
View attachment 19399

~ will do 1/2hr treadmill later tonite when home( to help balance-off the supper out a bit ).

Wishing everyone a lovely Sunday , have lots of Xmas fun & Not too many cookies !!

According to MFP-
Cleaning, heavy, vigorous effort 60 mins 246 cals,
Cleaning, light, moderate effort 60 mins 204 cals
Shoveling snow 60 mins 508 cals
Housework is much more bearable when you can turn it into "calorie burning!" Those chocolates are GONE!
Have a wonderful Christmas Maryann! xoxo Cate

Merry Xmas eve !!

Mystic, Cate & Trusylver- thanks for the support

Scale this morning was good- am holding stead at my 239.... I plan to weigh-in each morning thru the holidays- to help me keep on-course .... ( that's already a difference for me this year- past Xmas's -I avoided the scale like the plague.)

It's nice to know the calories burned with vacuming & snow-shoveling-thx Cate - my hubby even commented yesterday that I earned & deserved to enjoy the dinner with all the hard physicial work I had done.

Well, off to work for a 1/2 day- then next family dinner tonite.... I am plannig same strategy as yesterday- littel to no sweeets, lots of veggies...and treadmill tonite once back home

Wishing Everyone a lovely & Healthy Xmas,( and behave - don't fill those plates too full !)
cheers, Maryann C.

Hey Mary Ann!
Merry Christmas and good job on maintaining your focus! Weighing in every day to maintain focus is so smart, and to see that you have dropped a pound since I last visited is awesome!! You are doing it right gal!
I know what you mean about avoiding the scale...I avoided it completely even after I started losing weight. My aunt asked me last night how much I had lost and I told her the sad truth...almost 100 pounds...embarrassed, but proud at the same time...she has battled weight all her life too (she's 82) and she's currently losing weight, so she completely understood...which was nice!
Stay the course girl...you have such a great head start on all the rest of the New Years resolution people, but you have so much to offer them...you are now in the 230's,,,isn't that awesome!! I'm so proud of you!
Let's have a great new year, and get those mini goals, goals and other objectives together!!

Sarah

Well done MaryAnne losing weight this week is awesome! I hope you had a lovely day, and that it wasn't too crazy and stressful.

Merry Christmas

Hi all, Happy Wednesday- Boxing Day !! .... View attachment 19424
...well- up 1/2 pound today - not too bad considering all the goodies we had here yesterday...

Hi Anna- the pound lost was an unexpected suprise ( maybe it was the snow shovelling on Sunday-)?

Yesterday was lovely- lots of loving family over- feel very blessed , and am also glad to be my on the healthy road these days...I even found the cooking & Serving easier with the bit of weight I have lost - my feet were not nearly as sore as they were before after a day of preparing for company & felt good to be wearing a size-smaller dress pants than last year....

I actually feel pretty good this morning - am thinking part of the Xmas partying "fuzzy" was "food hang-over"....don't have that today - yay.

Quiet day at home today - clean up after yesterday - no company today - (more coming up on weekend)- am glad for the break & rest.

Plan for treadmill - this AM & this aftn ,
Food - have leftovers- but will stick to veg&turkey - no starches. - will put the baking/sweets in the freezer right away - so not tempted to "graze".

Wishing everyone a nice, healthy day .... ?boxing week shopping??? ( shopping can be good exercise - park far away from the store)....

cheers, Maryann View attachment 19423

Maryann, You have this nailed!! Leftovers into the freezer- GOOD thinking! In the New Year I will be re-committing to dropping some more weight & to re-focussing on becoming as healthy & as fit as I can. You have been great support to me over the last few months & I am enjoying seeing you blossom as you change your lifestyle. I look forward to accompanying you along the way. Here's to a great 2013! Cheers, xoxo Cate

Glad you had a great Christmas. Ever since moving out of the snow, it's been by far my favorite time of year. I think its great when you can enjoy sitting down and having a nice meal with friends and family and not pile on the guilt about whatever you might be eating.

The guilt is for December 26th and after. :D

Hi folks - tired Thursday - back to work for me today ~ yuck !

View attachment 19434

Weight is holding steady this morning - no Xmas gain yet-yay... so gonna keep keep being good- - treadmill felt good yesterday- good counter-balance to the rich food ....

Cate - thanks for the kind encouragement- the support (and appreciation) is mutual - I am looking forward to sharing our journey's in 2013- here's to a successful year for us both !!
View attachment 19435
Anna & Mystic - thanks also - you 2 gals both have so much energy- you both inspire me... I am thinking the big-secret to success is the support we give each-other here...many thanks-

MrVee - guilt-free eating my foot !! the only guilt-free food I've ever found was broccoli....& who wants to eat broccoli for Xmas !!? .. U indulge- U pay on the treadmill ( & the scale....) lol. ...

Plan today- treadmill ( 2 x 1/2hr) & got snow over-nite-so will shovel this afternoon.

food- challenge- we have a xmas luncheon at work today ( chinese food) -my plan is the usual for eating out - focus on protein/veg, avoid/limit starches, and avoid/limit fried/deep-fried foods - ....so for chinese food- that will leave me with beef&Broccoli & the wonton soup...which is fine.. - my stomachs' a bit gurgly today anyway ( might be from the cabbage in those good Ukrainian cabbage-rolls these past couple days.... lol. )

cheers everyone,
Maryann

You'll be right Maryann if you limit the fried stuff & the sweet sticky sauces. I eat Chinese regularly but never eat anything fried. I don't actually like it any more. As you say, you'll work it off on the treadmill! Cheers, xo Cate
