Marsia's Diary

I think you should bite the bullet and just get out there! Don’t wait to feel ‘perfect’ or worry about stumbling over words. I honestly believe exposure is the only way to overcome fears and anxieties. Maybe start small - I will go to a local cafe and make conversation with the barista - and build from there.

I could even counsel other people on how to get through this, but it's so much harder when it is yourself and you don't see your own blind spots!
So true. Also, just in case: you are plenty interesting and charming. We're so lucky to have you here!

Sounds like you are all well prepared and won’t go hungry . Best of luck in the storm . Nice J is being sweet to you . Keep safe Marsia

I was reading about this in the online news! And thinking that it's probably a wise precaution - fires can do so much truly horrific damage that any way to cut down the chances is worth pursuing.
Good for you hard-boiling the eggs! And settling in for a three-day siege, if need be - but I trust it won't come to that. Hoping for no fire at all - but stay safe in any case! :)

Hey Marisa, sorry to see the power outages have hit you. But I guess its better to be sitting in the dark than burning!

We have a backup generator, they are a good idea.

The joys of unregulated capitalism... Still: it might be better for your peace of mind to pretend their weather model just had a bad day when they made that decision and they actually meant well.

A generator is essential here, without power we have no water in the house, ours is not big enough to power the whole house but is ok for essentials.

We really need a generator too but they are a bit pricy. Glad you had a wonderful time though . I think power outages gives us a chance to down tools and great headspace so long as they are short lived .

Too true about news outlets. :(

Glad you're enjoying power, light and water - and all at once! Even more glad that no fires came anywhere near you. :)

Marsia think we all now need to start planning on ways to save more money , save more power ,plan for outages , we just consume so much without thinking where does it all come from.
I had a family chat last year and explained that everytime a light is left on unnecessarily or tv , immersion heater etc etc that our hard earned money might as well be flushed down the toilet. We were thinking solar panels but after reading your post I'm not sure . We also thought a turbine but they can be expensive and repairs can be costly.
Your day sounds great though. And sounds like your daughter might be become a famous singer !!!! Go K !!!

Nice to read you're getting involved in the COMMIT plan. Gardening is a wonderful thing to do for stress relief and good exercise too.
