Looking to lose an extra human I apparently picked up along the way

Yes, the faster the drop the more likely you get loose skin from what I understand. Slow and steady sucks but it wins the race!

172.5 today. Back from my cardio workout: incline walking. Thinking maybe I'll sign up for one of those Saturday cardio classes (spin or whatever) at my gym to try something a little new.

My ducks appear to be in a row for tomorrow's Tax day hell day, so I'm just gonna try and have a normal day.

Bought a pair of size 32 jeans yesterday and they're not partiuclarly tight. So I guess that's my size now. Tried on 32 slacks and they also fit, though I didn't buy them. The bad news is that I'll have to bust out my suit in early June, and it seems like maybe the pants at least will need a minor alteration.

Today's update. I got a an ad in the mail for Chick-fil-A that had a free chocolate chunk cookie coupon, no purchase necessary. I happen to live all of three blocks from a Chick-fil-A so I walked over and cashed it in. I was expecting some sort of Chips-Ahoy nonsense, but instead got one of those soft gooey things from Heaven. Ate it on the way home and then checked the calorie info once I got home:

330 calories!!! For comparison a bag of M&Ms is 240 calories. I had 940 calories left for dinner and dessert, so I was now down to 610. Fortunately my planned dinner tonight was chicken thighs, rice and broccoli. So it became chicken thighs and broccoli.

I am a bit hungry right now though. I suppose that's why you're supposed to make your calories count in a deficit and try and stick with stuff that has some nutritional value: to avoid my current situation. I'll go have a pickle spear and try and keep myself busy until bed.

Look on the bright side - you WALKED to go get the cookie. Calories in, calories out?

The day after a 330 calorie cookie and the weigh in is: 170.5. A new low. Getting close to busting the 170 barrier now. 9.5 pounds away from the finish line.

Today is Tax Day. The day when a large percentage of Americans suddenly have the urge to become anarchists. It seems to go away the next time someone cuts them off in traffic.

Off to my workout. Off to lift heavy things and put them down. Maybe in honor of the day instead of weights, I should lift the tax code...

That's silly skinny Vee! That lifting is going to be so much more productive once you can eat. You will be a beast coming up from 161 eating right and working hard like you have been.

Thanks Q. I needed that as I had to complete the "roll of shame" on bench today. :(

My chest is really underdeveloped. My legs are really strong, and my upper back is as well. But my chest is just nil. Suppose I have to stay the course, and maybe since it's so weak my chest will gain a little strength while the rest treads water until I'm off the calorie deficit.

The roll of shame means you were pushing yourself. Those little sore and scraped bits are badges of honor. You're a good ball session, good poo, or large cookie away from the 160's. That's unreal!

Since I always do exactly what Q tells me to do, I did all three of those things today. So when I got back from basketball, I hopped on the ol' Health-O-Meter:

Not official so no fanfare yet, but in any event there was a fist pump to be had. Feelin good.

Well it didn't take long, 169.5 this morning so I'm officially in the 160s.

There is no real way of knowing because I didn't pay all that close of attention back then, but that number above isn't just a new low since starting the weight loss program. The lowest I ever remember my scale weight being as an adult was 170 back when I was about 20 years old and working as a bike messenger. I know that one time I managed to just barely squeeze into size 32 jeans as an adult and that I fit into them now quite comfortably (it's pretty much dead on the right size).

So I'm just going to call this the "ultra new low" in that I believe that this is the least I've ever weighed since reaching my adult height.

8.5 pounds to go before we move on to phase 2. Considering where I was in July 2012, the idea that I'd ever find it necessary to need to _gain_ weight is just astonishing to me.
