Looking to lose an extra human I apparently picked up along the way

218 this morning, but I'm actually somewhat happy in that if I bounce upward and don't crack 220, that may mean I've seen the last of it.

Played an hour and 45 minutes of basketball today with an average heart rate of 152, and a high of 183!!! I was under the impression my heart rate shouldn't be capable of getting that high at my age. Have my parents lied to me about my age? In any event the new battery did the trick on the heart rate monitor. That 152 is completely legit as tonight was probably as intense and as lengthy at that intensity as I've exercised since my mid 20s. I worked damned hard and kept at it. I've got fat to lose and I'm 42, but cardiovascularly I think I can finally say I'm in halfway decent shape.

Personal training tomorrow night. Going to try a pot roast tomorrow; sale at the store. Work situation still in flux, but I'm 99% sure I will be moving to Chicago. I already have the accent, so it shouldn't be too hard an adjustment.

Wow, hope you share the weight whoosh around a bit! Would really love to see a decent drop this week. Congrats on the new low!!

Mmm pot roast. I'm roasting a beef for dinner tomorrow too. Om nom nom

216 this morning. The pot roast turned out good but not great. Will have to come up with a better seasoning regimen. I want it to have a little bit more zing.

Had an upset stomach all day yesterday but still made it to my hour personal training session. It was core which would seem to be the wrong thing for an upset stomach, but ironically while training was the best I felt the entire day. Strange.

216.5 this morning. It's nice when '216.5' is mildly disappointing.

Playing poker in a tournament tonight with my mom. She loves poker.

Looks like I'll find out my job fate either late tomorrow or on Saturday as their budget meeting is tomorrow.

How'd poker go? Making me want to setup a game! Been so long since I played a game.
Good job on the weight loss!

216? Holy crap. You're doing awesome, MrVee! I'm making my rounds, trying to get caught up on diaries. You're doing well, just as I expected. :)

You're going great by the sound of it Mr Vee. Well done. I need to get serious about getting into shape. I feel like a Telly Tubby after our trip! Catch up again soon. It's nice being home :) xo Cate

Alright, 216 yesterday and 215.5 this morning.

Just back from a mountain hike in which I set my personal best time up the mountain and did not rest at any point on the way up. IOW, that's about as good as I can do for that mountain. Going to have to try a different mountain one of these weekends.

Cate,

The key really is consistency. Everyone has days where they do fine and days where they eat/drink too much. The key is to have the former be the sizable majority of days and the latter be the exception.

I did not work out on Thursday, played golf on Friday but otherwise did not work out and then yesterday I canceled personal training for the very first time in 16 months because of a very bad case of the MrVee flu I caught on Friday night. This "illness" has ensured that I'm planning on being on the wagon for a very long time. That is good news though, since this was just about my only weakness when it comes to calorie consumption.

In any event, I think I did my body some good giving it an extended rest from the vigorous exercise. I felt very spry going up the mountain.

214 this morning, a new low and a weight starting to sound quite low.

Haven't done this in a while, so here's the weight chart and model:

Now it's time to reward my new low with an omelet and bacon.

Awesome Vee! I would have thought big drops would have been long gone after all the weight you've lost. Fantastic!

214 again this morning.

Quercus,

What I've noticed with the large drops is that they have tended to occur at all weight ranges. The key differences as I've gotten lighter have been: the large drops now aren't quite as large as before, during the more moderate phases in between it still used to drop some anyway while now the drops are small to non-existent.

The slope for my last 30 days of weigh ins (omitting any days missed) is -1.7 per seven days. Last year on this date it was -2.4. So the rate of weight loss is slowing like it should, but it's encouraging that the slowdown is as modest as it has been.

Getting my hair cut today and have personal training at 6 pm.

-1.7 lbs/week at 214.0 = .79% of body weight
-2.4 lbs/week at 310.5 = .77% of body weight

So by percentage of total body weight your rate of loss is slightly higher this week than the same week last year. Very impressive and consistent.

P.S. Yes, I went back to your 10/29/2012 post to get your weight. Once I thought the question I needed the answer.

212.5 this morning. I don't know if going on the wagon is responsible for this, but if so I should have done it way sooner. Needless to say, a new low and just one pound away from hitting the next milestone (which means I would no longer be "obese" by WHO standards).

Did legs workout for personal training and am feeling it this morning.

212?! Good grief, man. I think we need to send a representative from the forum to verify that you're in fact human, and not a machine. haha! Good job! :)

:iagree: with jen!! ( Thanks jen-you made me laugh!) Hopefully being off the wagon will produce similar results for me!! Go Mr Vee- awesome drop!
