Looking to lose an extra human I apparently picked up along the way

Ooh. How exciting!! Is it New York? Congratulations on the offer. A new world is awaiting you by the sounds of it. Cheers, Cate

Go for it, MrVee! You have a new body, time for a new life! :) What an adventure that will be. Have a good weekend.

Chicago? Oh, man, you gotta go! Even if for a few years - one of my regrets is not living in a big city for awhile, and I love Chicago. You'll definitely miss the mountains, but there's a lot of parks and you could always join the local rowing club (heh heh heh). People are generally friendly and I've never seen city pride like that anywhere else.

I understand your dilemma, and I fully admit that I'm living vicariously through you. Would it be in Chicago itself, or in the outlying region?

To make it easiest on me, I would likely live very close to the downtown area. It would be expensive, but I'll make enough to afford it and I'd likely otherwise forfeit whatever is left of my sanity.

I actually was born, raised and lived in Chicago my whole life until about a dozen years ago. I prefer Phoenix all things considered. But I'm working on ways to mitigate the worst of Chicago (the soul crushing winters).

220.5 this morning.

Tried an interesting tactic last night. At the bar watching the baseball game, and the baseball game was such that I stayed much longer than I had anticipated. The end result was three more beers than I wanted. So when I left, I calculated how much exercise I had to do to burn off those extra 400 calories and then went back to the health club for the second time (it was about an hour and a half before close). 45 minutes and 33 seconds and average heart rate of 132 gives me a net burn of 542 calories. However the key will be how today progresses. You can't just exercise hours upon hours every day without your body giving in, at least not at 42 years old. My calves are a little tight right now, but so far so good.

Soul crushing Winters? Would you drive at all in Chicago? It does sound like a big opportunity. One of the things I dislike the most about being an adult is having to make so many decisions! Living in the middle of Chicago sounds very exciting Mr Vee. Who knows what awaits you? xo Cate

219.5 this morning.

Running on a treadmill while tipsy is an interesting challenge, while walking on an incline is also quite tricky. Got my post bar workout in again.

I don't think this will be a regular occurrence, but it is indeed possible. Determined to use every trick at my disposal to get my weight down into "peak sexy" territory.

It was 218.5 this morning and then a full 18 holes of golf with the parents. Shot a 92 in awful conditions (the course was chewed up and the greens were no good).

Will be up late tonight having discussions with a client about my future. I hate having to make decisions.

Big changes are scary. Being in an office will give you practice and opportunity for being more social without actively trying to date.

At least you know what you are getting into as far as having lived there.

Working from home allows you the flexibility to plan your activities, but I'm also guessing it is the circumstance in which you gained a lot of your weight. You can always move back. I did.

I can't weigh in on the being close to family as it hasn't helped my relationship with my folks and we've never been that close. I would imagine that they would want to see you succeed and that you wouldn't mind having a built in reason to visit AZ.

One of the most insightful statements I've heard is: Successful people don't make the right decisions, they make their decisions right.

I would say it's not so much about about the choice itself, more about who you'll become in the process of what you choose.

I won't recommend one over the other; I hope whatever you choose works well for you.

218.5 this morning. My goal right now is to have seen the last of the 220s.

My body yesterday seemed to be hinting that I needed a day off. Technically I had one on Sunday, but I played 18 holes of golf and it was cart path only so there was tons of walking and it was a very hilly course. My hamstrings were reminding me yesterday that they may need some rest. So I think today is a rest day and I won't do much more than walk to the store if I need something.

Unofficially accepted the job offer yesterday and so now I just have to wait to hear back as we work out the details.

Great job walking throughout the 18 holes. Especially while taking care of your bag. I did that once and it felt like a 10k obstacle event.

217 this morning continuing the half a pound a day streak. Waist was at 39.7. So according to my body fat estimator, my body fat is now between 29.3 and 29.8%, so I'm below 30%.

Going golfing this morning with a friend at a very nice course that I normally wouldn't be able to afford to play. But he's got a package discount so it's affordable even if a little more than I usually spend on golf. Hopefully my game will rise to the challenge.

My heart rate monitor wasn't working yesterday, so I'm hoping I just have to replace the battery. Will buy one on the way home from golf, and use the old one as a ball marker while golfing.

Nice work MrVee! Sub 30 bf and working through the 2teens!

Don't forget that you have a battery in the strap and the watch part (assuming you have the strap type of monitor).

Good luck on your game.

And your golf too I guess. ;)

Yeah the watch is working fine, so it's the battery in the strap I'm replacing.

Big drop this morning, 215! on the scale. That's now 160 pounds lost. I'm 27.5 pounds away from being half the man I used to be.

Off to the parents house to watch football.
