Looking to lose an extra human I apparently picked up along the way

ha... "beauty" mode pic of sore-muscles?? paints a very interesting image...

U know what they say - no pain - no gain .... so if your degree of "soreness" reflects the cals burned - .... U are cruisin !
..keep up the good work - the scale will catch up soon ;)

285 this morning. I have to say this is a little unsettling. Interestingly enough, my little inaccurate hand held fat monitor is giving significantly lower readings than when I was 280.5 last week.

So there's weirdness of some sort going on. I good blame it on the trip, but I wasn't that bad on the trip and was 282 and 281 the first two days back. So I'm thinking it's the TRX workouts have somehow made me absorb every bit of moisture my body comes in contact with.

Or something, I don't know.

Have some colleagues in town (many of whom I was with last weekend) and tonight is the designated get together night. Should be fun.

More personal training today. Hopefully I'll still be able to walk afterward.

Any possibility this is related to the strenuous workout schedule and muscle building? You're doing everything well, so it makes me think your body is in process right now.

I blame it on water retention.

But...you HAVE been working out this whole time....just now, pushing yourself even further due to higher endurance/strength thresholds...

I wonder...

That's my guess but this isn't really my area of expertise. I could blame it on the trip, but I wasn't too bad on the trip, and when I came back the first two days I was 282 and 281.

We'll see I guess. I'm going to be using the silly little body fat thing every morning with my weigh-in and see what it has to say.

Very much enjoying the smart phone.

To be fair my trainer is doing most of the pushing right now. :) But yeah, I haven't had anything like the soreness so far like I had the last few days.

I agree it's probably your muscles retaining fluid from your hard workouts. I bet once you are no longer feeling sore your weight will drop right back down!

I think so too. After really intensive exercise I have been known to jump up a kilo or 2 next day. It must be frustrating though. Cheers, Cate

I wouldn't worry about it too much, Mr. Vee. Sometimes the scale can be misleading and it sure sounds like you're doing the right things.

Mr Vee, hang in there the scale will soon show the positive results you deserve. You are putting in the work and effort and it will show soon.

284 this morning.

Did not have a good day calorie wise yesterday, but don't know whether I was at maintenance or a little over. Was out at an event that just had way too much in the way of free food and drinks. Don't think I binged, but clearly didn't stay within calories, despite eating very light during the day knowing it was coming.

Did the TRX thing again yesterday, but amazingly not nearly as sore today as earlier in the week. Maybe my muscles are starting to adjust. Apparently the big key to this type of workout is the balance and stability aspects. You're not just working the muscles you normally would lifting weights and doing lunges and squats, you also are working other muscle groups by maintaining your balance. That's the theory anyway, and I haven't seen a whole lot on the internet that says otherwise.

Have a busy schedule today. But have time in the morning for about 40 minutes of basketball or treadmill.

Good work with the exercise, sounds like you are getting used to it!! Awesome! So cool that you have basketball as your hobby too!! Very helpful to get some more exercise in!

Been a busy week, and I've barely had time to come by here. Didn't even weigh this morning as last night was a long one. Hopefully it was the end of what seems like a week long New Year's Eve party spanning the continent. When I was 27 something like this would have destroyed me. At 41 I don't even feel human right now.

Gonna have to make some lifestyle changes that only slightly relate to my weight. Have a big meeting on Monday that should clear up my work for a while, so hopefully after that I can settle back into a less hectic schedule and post here more often. Everyone in their job has a busy time of year, mine is always March.

"take two advils and call me in the morning" type of night? Maybe?

You've done great thus far, do you mind sharing your daily eats?? Interested what's going inside!

I hope you feel better, Mr. Vee. :p

Congrats on the exercise. It'll get just a bit easier everytime. I adore that feeling.

283 on Sunday morning. At least it's heading back in the right direction. Body fat monitor continues to give me lower readings than when I was down to 280.5 before.

69 and Sunny today after some unusually crummy weather for this time of year the last two. If the ground is dry enough, I think it's mountain day today. Tomorrow is going to be a day off (will be WAY busy), and I took yesterday off due to my short term illness :D . So I should get something done exercise wise today.

By request, here is the diet plan for today:

Morning Coca Cola wakeup = 140 Calories
Cheese Omelet with 3 strips o' bacon = 400 calories
Mango! = 85 calories
Chili = 450 calories
Cheese stick = 85 calories
Pork tenderloin chop with rice and mixed veggies = 800 calories
Dessert (probably chocolate covered almonds) = 140 calories

Total = 2100 calories. 100 calories to play with if needed. Not exactly diet food and I need more veggies, but it's worked so far anyway.

Yello, yay for the good direction. I had dessert yesterday too, and a fry up (fried breakfast in the UK) for brunch...
but you know: so what? I ll do some extra work in the exercise department!! Just like you.
Have a great day! :D

Try to have a small dessert every day, and I try to do it within an hour of dinner. Should be sweetish whatever it is. Read something a while ago about how this goes a long way to preventing late night cravings. What I read suggested to suck on a small piece of chocolate like a Hershey's kiss (around 25 calories in one of those). I don't go quite that extreme.

Hey MrVee! Thanks for posting, I'm jealous of those yummies....I feel like I gotta draw a fine line between suffering and indulgence. Can I eat a bell pepper with a brownie? It just doesn't seem to work!

Anyways, I want to thank you again for the weight loss model spreadsheet. I added a few tabs, i.e. meal planning and rewards to stay even more vigilant. After a few slips, I'm getting back on track with my model weight. I'm off by 3-4 pounds, but that's within reach! Thanks agaaaaaain!

So, how do you like the SGIII?
