Good job on the exercise.

Maybe it's the type of food your eating that doesn't promote weight loss. Maybe you need more vegetables. They are so good for you and really low in calories. When you have bread, pasta or rice is is whole grain/brown or do you eat the white stuff? When you have dairy is it low fat? Those kind of things may help. Also, you may not be drinking enough water or taking in too much sodium (which can retain water). So there's all those kinda things to think about. Hopefully that helps a bit. Maybe you can post an example of stuff you have been eating, that may help. And also, make sure you're eating enough calories, don't want to have them too little.

Thanks for the ideas...I try to eat a vegetable or fruit at every meal...other than breakfast, where I have special k with low fat milk...I might add some peaches tomorrow. I only eat wholegrain bread or natural wholegrain crackers. Try to stay away from bread as much as possible actually, that is why my calories have been so low the last few days where I try to rediscover what I should eat instead of the bread. I did have a bagel last night with lean/skinless chicken breast and salad so that is white rather than wholegrain. I only really snack on fruit, so its things like grapes, kiwifruit, apples, bananas..I sometimes have a handful of almonds as a snack. I don't use butters or any types of spreads. My diet is pretty much salt free, other than when added in cooking....and I drink at least 8 - 9 big cups of water a day...but usually it is more like 12. I will post a sample of today's meals when I get done for the day. I do enjoy a snack made up of one dutch fruit bun...the are really yummy and only just over 100cal...but I guess you would say they belong to the white bread family. I am trying to eat as normally as possible, so that once I do lose the weight it does not all come flooding back like it did last time. Hopefully the weight will stop dropping off pretty soon...but while I may not be losing weight, I do feel a whole bunch healthier!
 
Week 2 Continued...

So my meals today looked like this:

Breakfast
Special K Cereal with low fat milk

Lunch
5 kavli wholegrain crackers with gerkins and laughing cow cheese

Snack
Dutch fruit bun

Snack
11 Almonds and 3 Kiwifruit

Dinner
Stir fry vegetables and lamb with Hokkien noodles

Dessert
30 green grapes

Total calories today: 1330 Water: 10 glasses at least Exercise: 45min
Restriction:1571

I think I should try to through a snack between breakfast and lunch, rather than two after lunch...but I basically eat when I'm hungry. I had to make myself eat those snacks today, otherwise my calories would have been more like 900...I am really happy because I am getting no cravings and finding it quite easy to make good choices...long may this continue!

Since I am joining this new year challenge I am going to leave my points summary to one side for a while...it seems to have sorted my habits quite nicely so far.

I was reading through your posts from a few days ago - I think your body actually retains more water when you are near/ on that time of the month Maybe that's also another reason why you haven't lost weight. I'd wait until it's over and re-weigh.

Keep up the hard work though! It will definitely pay off! :)
 
Weigh Day....

Well the scale is finally on its way down:party:...long may it continue! I have not lost much, about 1/2 a kg, which is 1.1lb...but that is better than nothing...and it has only been two days since I weighed myself.

So the challenge starts today...it is Wednesday the 7th here. The eating I am not worried about, but will have to work a little harder on the exercise as I only did just over 3hrs last week. May start adding a couple of yoga workouts to my exercise week...I used to do pilates, and still use some of the moves when I do my circuits...but yoga may help my aching legs...:)

Still bidding on a DVD for the 30 day shred...hopefully I get that as I have not been able to find it anywhere...will turn to amazon if I am not successful in my bid today.
 
YAY! Congrats on the weight loss :)

The food doesn't sound too bad. If you keep eating like that, you should do fine.

Week 2 Continued...

Well today was a bit of a break through day for me...for one I am noticing my fitness improve greatly, and most importantly I finally lost a little bit of weight.

I did yoga for 30 min this morning.

This afternoon I did 30 min high intensity on bike, 20 min high intensity on elliptical and 10 min with my swiss ball.

Total exercise time today was 1hr and 30 min (a record!)

I am still struggling to get those calories in, I find when I am getting exercise in I don't really feel hungry.

Calories eaten today: 1190

Am going to try and get up early to exercise tomorrow as it is going to be a busy day of errands, so if I get something done in the morning I can always fit in another 20min or so in the evening.
 
Wow, looks like you're doing great Lilly. Glad to have you on our team over in the new years challenge. with dedication like yours(pushing yourself despite not seeing a change in the scale was GREAT) we'll have one amazing team.

Feeling good!

I was a little worried I'd be sore this morning, but I wasn't really, so that is good, maybe the yoga helped a little yesterday. I've already fitted in my first 30 min of exercise, 20 minutes on my stepper with my arm bands and then 10 minutes with my swiss ball and some weights.

I am aiming for about an hour of exercise a day, but if I don't get there some days I'll just make it up by doing more on others.

Team two names...hmmm? Belly Blasters?? Energizers?..I'm lame with names!

Oh well better go eat my breakfast...It's 8.50am here, so running a little late...but it's the holidays so who cares!

I am a little worried that I won't be here to put in my 10 points for eating on the Tuesday, I don't wanna let my team down, but won't have the internet again until Friday evening...that's Thursday on this Board.

Week 2 continued

Well we are having a heat wave here and the heat and humidity are leaving me feeling quite smothered and tired.
I did 30 min this morning (20min on stepper, 10 min with swiss ball)
Even though I felt totally drained I did another 30 min exercise on my bike and elliptical this afternoon....it was a struggle in the heat, and I really didn't want to do it, but I made myself.

So total exercise - 1hr (just over 500 cal I think)
Calories eaten - 1250
Calorie restriction today - 1697

I hope this heat levels off a little soon, as it is really hard to get motivated, but I am glad I made myself!
 
Good job on the exercise. It's always great to do exercise when you really don't feel like it because once you're done, you feel awesome for doing it! Also, good job on the eating :)
 
End of Week 2

Well I can't believe it is only two week since I started this...seems much longer!

This morning I did my circuit for an hour, I do ab work, strength and cardio (skipping, elliptical, stepper, bike, butt kicks, high knees etc) just about killed myself but I kept pushing and was very proud of myself in the end.

So my total exercise for this week is 5hr and 45min...pretty good. (my weeks go from Saturday - Fridays) because that is when I started. Tomorrow is the start of week 3 and my rest day.

I am going away for a couple of nights with two of my friends, we are having a girls weekend, but will be back on the Sunday to fit in an exercise session, and I already have my eating mapped out for the weekend.

I weighed myself again today...only two days since last time...couldn't resist, I have lost another .6lb which is not a heap, but for a day is pretty good.
