Football is real football what most Aussies and Americans call soccer, At the football I am not coaching (this year, much lol), I Work as a sports trainer which basically means my job is to prevent injuries in partnership with physiotherapists, Doctors and coaches using proper warmups and injury preventative training, pre and post game massage along with spending a lot of time strapping (Taping) to prevent injury to joints and muscles, and to prevent further damage to existing injuries. During the games my job is to treat injuries on the field or get the player further help if it is a major injury. I have only ever needed to do CPR once on field but broken bones are not uncommon in football.
My training also covers preparing rehab training programs but too many coaches just want to throw their players straight back in to play even when they are not yet fully fit.
A sports Trainer is roughly equivalent of an Athletics Trainer in the US.
I also attend other sports as a trainer including Rugby Union, Martial Arts (assorted), BMX, Touch, Baseball, Basketball, Field Hockey, Triathlon etc.
I have also participated in a wide range of sports myself including: Judo (Shodan, Tore Knee Ligament training for Olympic trials when I was 16) , Broomball (Aus Team), Hockey, Field Hockey, Handball, Netball, Cricket, Rugby Union, Football, Cross Country Running (High school regional Team), Powerlifting (2009 Aus Bench Champ, multiple state titles), Road Cycling, Golf, volleyball, Tennis etc.
I think I am past the point where most men think it is "cute" that I coach, but some men have such fragile ego's lol especially the younger ones when they find out that they are weaker than a middle aged woman
