Lift, Train, Fitness

Unfortunately there is a big genetic component to the hip problem, my father had double hip replacement at 55.

no point hiding my real name, easy enough to find with a bit of searching, this is part of a lantana flower (a weed) in the rain yesterday during a walk around my property.

May the 4th be with you.

Foggy this morning, likely to be hot and steamy today, need to buy a new chipping hoe today for a new garden project outside now that the new peacock enclosures are almost done (they need some more landscaping in them) and our white boy has mostly recovered from his case of Blackhead thanks to the help of another peacock person online sourcing some vet only medication for me and not any of the vets in town who do not treat birds.

I love your photo Tru, but it's a shame that something so pretty is such an invasive weed. You seem like a person who always has a project happening Tru. Your place must be looking pretty good. Are the snakes still about? Does it ever get cool there? We have our wood heater going now as it is getting down to 3-5 overnight sometimes now. The days have been about 6o over the average though. I didn't think I was a Winter person, but I am looking forward to it now.

yes, the snakes are still about, it was 18 degrees at 7 am this morning, cool enough to turn the aircon off in the car driving my son to work (his choice not mine) lol but still hot enough to be sleeping on top of my covers at night.

I wear shorts and T shirts all year round up here, it is nothing like living in the southern states, as a kid it was normal in winter to be walking to school in -5 temps or sleet on a bad day so I feel the heat badly, I have been in Queensland about 15 years now and just cannot adjust to the heat, locals think I am mad wearing summer clothes mid winter at night but they have no idea what cold is lol

with my hip problems I have to learn to let others help me more, it makes me cranky and hard to get along with.

18 degrees at 7am? Eek! & snakes still?
Oh, Tru! Asking for help goes against the grain for me too, but I have had to lately.

Spent part of the day walking around a local Garden expo, tomorrow I will be going to a Hotrod car display

Rainbow Beach Hot Rod & Rockabilly Rumble is today's activity, expecting lots of walking and hope to get some good pics

Nope, and the day was a bust anyway, got to the event and it was pissing down rain, not great for an outdoor event.

There is a local cafe on the old highway called Helltown Hotrods, probably head out there tomorrow instead.

Trivia: Gympie (our nearest medium size town) is known as Helltown because at one point it was the murder capital of Australia lol not so many now but in recent times there was a head found on the roadside by a mowing crew only a few kilometres from our place and there is a current investigation of a bloke who went through a wood chipper.

Went for a walk along the beach today this is one of the pics

Feeling a bit stiff today, and it will be a long day in the car tomorrow, have to drive to Brisbane (5 hour round trip if traffic is good) hubby has to have a followup appointment with the vascular surgeon after his surgery on his leg last year. Monday week will also be long when I will be transporting a 4 player chess team to a regional tournament.

feeling exhausted today, spent a good portion of the morning pushing our 600 kg mower up to the shed from the paddock after it broke down

havn't posted for a while, sleeping tablets had no effect, doc has prescribed a stronger one, all of the results from bloodwork were all perfect cholesterol, A1C, no deficiencies in anything. however the xray of my hips which have been hurting when I try to sleep came back, I have arthritis in both hips.

Doc can see where this makes it hard for me, the usual recommendation is loose weight and exercise, however as some one who has normal bodyfat % loosing weight will mean either loosing muscle or getting down to the bare minimum healthy bodyfat %, while I said I wanted to get that low before, now I have to. The exercise side of things is also a problem, when I exercise, I gain muscle but on the other hand I cannot exercise fully at the moment due to my injuries.

I am hoping that the The traditional concoction from India he wants me to mix and drink once per day will have an effect on pain and inflamation levels

1 teaspoon of turmeric
1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
mixed into 1/2 glass of milk

Turemeric is a great anti-inflammatory - hope you're feeling better!
