Lift, Train, Fitness

A result I´ve seen elsewhere as well. It´s a shame they never find a way to separate out the people who change their diet because they have health issues. Even if only one in ten vegetarians stopped eating meat because they had a heart attack, have allergies or were trying to combat another health problem it´s going to influence the results massively. I´d probably never even consider vegan eating if it weren´t for my allergies and I´m by no means the great exception.

Interesting stuff. But Lama also makes a good point about vegetarianism and veganism coupled with pre-existing health conditions.

Pugly watching the snake closely

Weather is atrocious outside, quiet day at home with bub, task for the day is to pin together the layers of the hand painted patchwork quilt I am making for bub, then the challenge will be working out if my tiny machine is strong enough to do the actual quilting.

Spent some of the day repairing the top wire of the chook yard, 30 metres of wire to repair 1 strand on 2 sides.

Sleep has been a problem lately due to my injury pains, doc prescribed a sleeping tablet to try, if I can sleep I can heal quicker, not feeling any effect from it yet lol, first time ever taking sleeping meds. I am a bit wary of some of the side effects.

Callers to a national hotline for Stilnox users have reported incidents such as crashing cars, having sex, fighting and binge-eating while apparently asleep.

The medication guide for the drug outlines the “less common adverse” side effects as: “Unexpected changes in behaviour. These have included rage reactions, confusion and other forms of unwanted behaviour. Sleep walking, driving motor vehicles and other unusual, and on some occasions dangerous, behaviours while apparently asleep.

“These have also included preparing and eating food, making phone calls or having sexual intercourse. People experiencing these effects have had no memory of the events.

Last thing I want to do is sleep bing on whatever junk food is in my fridge.

took dose an hour ago and don't feel sleepy at all.

Me too. I'm a lousy sleeper too Tru. Have you tried magnesium oil? I buy it online from Amazing oils, but it's available at a much higher price in health food stores. I rub it the tops of my feet about half an hour before I go to bed & it helps me to sleep sounder. It also works much better than oral magnesium to stop cramps. If you check out their website I bought "The Works Pack" & I don't think I'll need to buy any more for a couple of years :) It's great value, especially when you see what it costs in stores.
It also works well with aches & pains, headaches......(I sound like I'm on commission!)

I have magnesium oil as part of my sports trainer first aid kit, great for cramps, no effect for sleep. took sleep meds last night, had no effect, doc wants me to take every third night.

havn't posted for a while, sleeping tablets had no effect, doc has prescribed a stronger one, all of the results from bloodwork were all perfect cholesterol, A1C, no deficiencies in anything. however the xray of my hips which have been hurting when I try to sleep came back, I have arthritis in both hips.

Doc can see where this makes it hard for me, the usual recommendation is loose weight and exercise, however as some one who has normal bodyfat % loosing weight will mean either loosing muscle or getting down to the bare minimum healthy bodyfat %, while I said I wanted to get that low before, now I have to. The exercise side of things is also a problem, when I exercise, I gain muscle but on the other hand I cannot exercise fully at the moment due to my injuries.

I am hoping that the The traditional concoction from India he wants me to mix and drink once per day will have an effect on pain and inflamation levels

1 teaspoon of turmeric
1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
mixed into 1/2 glass of milk

Worth a try Tru, that's for sure. I tried Turmeric capsules, but they upset my stomach. I might try this.

Still struggling with lack of sleep which is not helped by hip pain, sort of resigned to the idea that I will no longer be able to do heavy squats at the gym, but elbow is healing slowly, so it may be possible to return to compete in bench press only. have been concentrating on beginning to build an online following for my photography, today I got a pic of a tiny frog (about half the length of my thumb) half hiding under the bark of a Bluegum log

not the greatest pic, but with limited lighting in a handheld situation for something so small it isn't bad either, not sure what species of frog it is.
