Lift, Train, Fitness

Bench session went well, still need to finish building a landmine for landmine press to protect the bar and my floor, they work well just using the corner of the powercage and the cheap bar I use for some accessory movements but I would like to improve the setup.

Landmine press has a lot of advantages for shoulder health compared to overhead press whilst still using the same muscles. OHP has an unnatural path for the shoulder, which you may be able to get away with when young with healthy shoulders, but age and wear and tear makes OHP a poor choice for joint longevity.

I agree that overhead press is a weird thing to do for the shoulders. I need to look into proper execution for landmine press.

Another ordinary day here, no slip ups with accidental wheat consumption, this has forced me to get back on track with my eating, after a few too many non keto foods slipping in when others in the family have been eating junk. However hubby is getting better at spotting alternate names for wheat when he buys something for me.

Hosting a game day on the weekend (AD&D 1st edition) food will all be BBQ so minimal temptation to eat crap that is normally found at a games table lol

I'm glad you have been able to steer clear of wheat. I think wheat is a bigger problem for me than gluten. It's great that your hubby is getting better at spotting it. Enjoy your weekend, Tru.

Head is fuzzy this morning, heading to the shed to do a back training session which will hopefully break me out of this brain fog.

Back training done, rather than posting here I will post it in the strength club as most members have no interest in reading the contents of a strength training session.

Did you just wake up out of sorts, Tru? Hopefully exercising will make you feel better. I know a walk does me. I think a lot of people here are interested in strength training, but not all read other people's diaries. I simply don't understand most of it & can't do it myself, although I would quite like to. I love that you provide proper support to people who do strength training. There are so many "experts" out there who are just plain dangerous & you give without having ulterior motives. Whoops- just went on a bit in your diary. Hope you feel better as the day goes on xo

yep just a bit out of sorts when I woke up, feeling a lot better now, posted my training in the strength club, with the exercise, sets, reps, weight and a link to how each exercise is done.

Awesome, thanks! I'm good enough with the basic training principles and know what to look at to judge someone's quality of movement but I just don't have the expertise to advise others on many specific exercises. Links to quality information are helpful for my own training though, so thank you.

hubby has informed me that he has arranged to get a whole sheep for the freezer next week, it is hard to get mutton and it has soo much more flavour than lamb, $100 for a heap of meat is a good deal.

Jealous! I love mutton & lamb & it has been very expensive.

it is, a work colleague of my husband is have 5 sheep slaughtered this weekend and it has been a long time since I have had lamb or mutton for exactly the reason you give, it has become super expensive.

Sheep´s delicious. Do you know why it´s become so expensive? Do fewer people keep sheep or do they just keep them for the wool until they die of old age?

after years of drought, farmers have had to reduce flock numbers sending the price up
