Oh, Tru. I am so sorry I have hardly been in here much the last few days. I just came out in goosebumps catching up with all of your posts about the fires. I have hardly been home, but saw the fires on TV, not realising they were so close to you. This year is going to be horrendous. Your husband is worth his weight in gold. We rely mostly on volunteer fire-fighters here & I don't think I can properly express how much I value them. Stay safe my WLF friend!
yep, volunteer rural firefighters are so important. and as a mentioned this level of fires in Queensland doesn't bode well for the southern states this summer. We don't want to see another Black Friday but the conditions make it a big possibility.
at this point in the evening the fire has been slowed but still out of control, and the forecast is for the wind to continue and the heat to be high again Thursday and Friday. I will have to drive around the the fire-ground tomorrow to get to Uni and I think the numbers attending uni will be low as many students live in the area burnt and evacuated.
My gym owning friend J has taken in 2 joeys rescued from the fire, she doesn't have space for more at the moment. I have a couple of paddocks for livestock available. Big W in Noosa is giving away clothing.
