Lift, Train, Fitness

Oh, Tru. I am so sorry I have hardly been in here much the last few days. I just came out in goosebumps catching up with all of your posts about the fires. I have hardly been home, but saw the fires on TV, not realising they were so close to you. This year is going to be horrendous. Your husband is worth his weight in gold. We rely mostly on volunteer fire-fighters here & I don't think I can properly express how much I value them. Stay safe my WLF friend!

yep, volunteer rural firefighters are so important. and as a mentioned this level of fires in Queensland doesn't bode well for the southern states this summer. We don't want to see another Black Friday but the conditions make it a big possibility.

at this point in the evening the fire has been slowed but still out of control, and the forecast is for the wind to continue and the heat to be high again Thursday and Friday. I will have to drive around the the fire-ground tomorrow to get to Uni and I think the numbers attending uni will be low as many students live in the area burnt and evacuated.

My gym owning friend J has taken in 2 joeys rescued from the fire, she doesn't have space for more at the moment. I have a couple of paddocks for livestock available. Big W in Noosa is giving away clothing.

Fire is still out of control, I have uni today and need to drive around the fire to get there. Uni has sent out e-mails offering a range of support services for students.

Just got home from Uni, Probably won't feel very good tomorrow, got hungry and ate a sandwich, all that wheat is already having an effect.

It was pressing movements in tute today, which is good because mentally I was a bit off, so having an easy day was helpful

Got home and son passed on the message that hubby will be late tonight, he has been called out to a fire. just going to veg in front of the TV watching kids cartoons with bub and chowing down on a couple of pieces of steak.

Feeling itchy today, I really should not have eaten the sandwich.

Breakfast is cooking, When bub wakes up depending on how long she sleeps I may be able to get in to the gym for an extra Deadlift session and take my TRX stuff in to practice some assessment exercises that I don't do very often as I now have the day and time of my prac exam for one of my subjects.

Is the smoke reaching your house, Tru?
That's interesting that wheat makes you itch. Maybe it does me too. I know it bloats me up & gives me pains in the stomach. I never quite know what makes me so itchy, but sometimes I feel I could scratch my scalp off.
Hope you get some time to get out into the gym today.

There is plenty of smoke in the air, heaps of fires around, not just the big ones making the news. The fire hubby was called to last night was a farmer who lit a stack of dried out dead trees on fire. I do not understand how these people could seriously not know it is currently a TOTAL fire ban at the moment. It is all over the radio and local media that all fire permits have been cancelled, advising people that must be using power tools that they need to have a spotter on hand looking for sparks and having a means to deal with any spot fires they start. We have grass we would like to cut but are not willing to risk hitting rocks and creating sparks in the dry, wind and heat.

If I eat wheat or products derived from wheat I get a red itchy rash on my arms and legs, If it is just a small amount I will get itchy but not get the rash. I generally do not get any intestinal problems from it, I am not a coeliac, it is an allergic reaction.

Agreed - there should be (but it differs state to state) savage penalties for recklessly endangering lives - let alone all the other damage that comes from fire.
I can't believe any farmer would not know when there's a total fire ban.

It is 33 outside at the moment. Spent 3 hours at the gym working through exercises in prep for practical exam.

"9.8, feels like 2.9" here. I had to resurrect my Winter woollies!
Edit: & it just started raining.
I wish it was possible to send your rain up here.

J had 3 joeys in at the gym today, the kids that lit the big fire have a lot to answer for

feeling out of sorts today, however I did get my written exam result back with a Distinction.

frustrated I am struggling with picking up coaching clients locally and may have to put time into online training to cover the costs of putting together my gym for coaching. It is hard trying to coach in a commercial gym without some of the specialise equipment.
