Have to get my middle son to his paediatrician appointment today

ate some keto baseless quiche last night that youngest son cooked at school yesterday

I have tongue in the crock pot for tonight, hubby will be cooking something for himself as he refuses even to taste it lol, he is as stubborn as the kids sometimes and they are looking forward to eating it as the have had tongue before.

:eek2:

lmbo! :p

When I was little, I didn't put 2 and 2 together when my Na'Na Margie made Hog Head Cheese. I'm mean.....Duh! lol

I loved the stuff...Until one day we popped in for a visit unexpectedly and I opened fridge to find a hogs head! I screamed and cried...

When she told me what it was for, I never ate that "cheese" again! :smilielol5:

There are a few internal organs we wont eat, being brains and tripe, hubby also won't eat haggis

but liver, kidneys etc are all on the menu, full of great nutrients and cheap lol

Baseball today so I need to slice up the meat cooked last night and get get the car packed with sports equipment, my car is always full of some kind of sports equipment :willy_nilly:

I never liked hog head cheese, but I've eaten every organ of several animals. It's a bit ironic that I eat none of any of them anymore. I really liked tongue. Tacos lingua are Mexican tongue tacos which are yummy. I always thought tongue was a nice mix between liver and brisket in flavor and texture.

Never heard of head hog cheese? Mustn't be an Auzzie thing..
I was vego for over 13 years, and while I do eat meat now, I am quite picky on what I do eat. I would like to think I'd try tongue. Enjoy TL :) And gorgeous pics too X
What are you aiming to do with your course once you're finished?

the course is just continuing education, as a coach, trainer and massage therapist it is important to keep learning, it is no good just relying on your initial qualifications, you need to keep knowledge fresh, and learn new ways of doing things as the science changes and becomes more precise.

eg I was already very familiar with muscle fibre types as they relate to exercise and how everybody has a mix of the different types in varying ratios based on genetics, but science is beginning to show that long steady slow exercise can change type II fibres to type I fibres which is really bad news for building explosive strength which relies on type II muscle fibres. So no long slow cardio session for me lol

it has yet to be shown if fibres can be converted the other way from type I to type II and type IIz

anyway, time to relax for a bit, after working all morning massaging at the markets.

ate a couple of things last night that I shouldn't have, holding a bit of water weight this morning, going to water fast today to quickly return to ketosis.

bit of a stressful day today, my son is taking a "sicky" from school so I can help him get the last of his assignments completed for TAFE, doing assignment for Autistic kids with communication problems is very stressful for them and and very stressful for those helping them through it. It is like there is a big mental block between knowing the answers and actually being able to put it in written form for assessment.

BUT when it is done he should have his Cert II in kitchen operations and completes one of his subjects for graduating with his year 12 certificate next year.

Helping kids with disabilities is sooooooo much harder than helping normal kids with their homework :(

Talk about BAD science for the new WHO report lol

the diet data came from self reporting consumption forms and there have never been any isolation studies on meat consumption, all studies done still have the participant eating a "Normal" diet with a lot of carbs from bread, pasta, rice etc

comparing unprocessed red meat to things like hot dogs and other manufactured fake mead is ridiculous

I am not very good at getting my point across in written form sometimes but I found this blog post to be well written

I have just set up a squat challenge elsewhere on the forum for November but at part of it I included the following Info

For those who are interested

The calorie burn for squats is

.096 X lb per minute

so if you weigh 200 lb and squat with moderate intensity for 1 minute then you will burn 19.2 calories so of you spend 5 minutes doing 100 squats that is a total burn of 96 calories

Because I have not been able to go to the gym today (see above) I have been doing bodyweight squats through the day (not finished yet) and will post my calorie burn a little later as an example.

ok using the formula from above

.096 X 198 = 19 calories per minute

700 squats taking approx 5 minutes per 100 squats = 35 minute

35 X 19 = 665 calories burned today just by doing squats interspersed with other chores.

if I was to do this each day it would burn approx 1lb of fat every 5 day in addition to my other exercise and diet control

it is not hard to find 5 minute to exercise, anybody can do this, you can find 5 minutes while waiting for food to cook on the stove, watching TV or in Ad breaks, waiting for a load of washing to finish etc.

:rotflmao: re: all the hog head cheese chatter. ;)

Thanks for the heads up re: Squat Challenge and the extra info! *WooHoo!*

BTW: I'm still trying to learn how to tape foot! I will eventually get it! :D

was not online much last night, we had an awesome lightening storm, the power stayed on which was a bit of a surprise, although I know the power went out for houses in town. no photos because the batteries are flat in my digital camera and I don't have any film for my good camera.

kids suggested I should stand in the middle of the paddock to improve their view of the lightening lol they take every opportunity to remind me that i attract it, having been hit by it in the past.

I hate all the media hubub about bacon and meat...its basically a bullshite survey and not even a true study...its not even observational! We can only hope it drives the price of red meat and bacon, sausage and salami down though...more for me!

Did the kids suggest wearing an aluminum foil cap whilst standing in the path of disaster?

completed 200 squats so far today, and I am having a bit of a bludge now after spending the last 2 hours shovelling thick mud out of a blocked drainage ditch down in the gully next to the driveway.

Baseball this afternoon, although I am not a baseball coach I am taking care of the agility training for the players while learning more about coaching technique from the head coach. This afternoon is a special coaching session for pitchers and catchers only.
