finally home from the 2 day carnival, tired and a wee bit sunburnt (sleeveless shirt on the first day) but had a good time.

Food was mostly ok till I got home, I have just consumed 1 Red Eye (energy drink) and 1 Golden Gaytime but it was worth it lol

as this is a new training cycle weights are still low but that will change quickly

Coaching this arvo, counting down 1 1/2 weeks to comp, trying not to show how nervous I am prior to my first comp as a professional PL coach lol

when it is just you coaching yourself you know that the only person to suffer when you fuck up is you, when you are the coach of another athlete your fuck ups become so much worse when they affect others.

good session this afternoon, son hit national qualifying numbers for reps. My brain knows everything is spot on target but the nerves remain.

Congratulations to your son Tru! As a parent, I know the hoops we go through. He's a credit to you!

today is a light day at the gym, well light compared to some of my other days that is.

forgot to mention yesterday that after training I allowed my son to have a coke (his only sugar for the day) and when I asked him for a sip he reminded me that I wouldn't like it lol, way back I used to drink a lot of coke but now it just simply tastes awful but I still have the urge to have just a bit.

the reminder was a good one and stopped me stuffing up a good day.

Training - Light Bench Assistance Day

Warmup followed by

Close grip Bench Press 6 x 6 @ 65 kg
3 X 10 @ 10 kg + Burn Bar on Decline French Press, Had an arsehole squeeze behind me when at full extension brushing the weights, was lucky not to strain my shoulders as I failed that rep, They are new and they WILL learn
Floor Press 3 X 10 @ 70 kg
2 X 1 minute vibrogym triceps dips (High Amplitude, 40 Hz) just to finish off

Nice work with your son :)
It's amazing how by not having something it changes your taste buds - good on you for only having a sip, and using it as motivation for the rest of the day. You're a champ!

BB i didn't even have the sip.

Just woke up and it is 8pm, felt sooo tired this afternoon, just sort of crashed, feeling better now, just gonna relax for a bit before going to bed.

at least the boys can all cook for themselves lol

The plan this morning is to head into the gym after my 2 litres of water and hit my back hard, the muscles of my back are the least developed and I suck at deadlift due to mechanical disadvantage. my body structure is perfect for squat and benchpress but that means it is the worst possible structure for deadlift (I am built like a little T Rex). I also have the additional motivation that my son is catching up fast and I don't want to make it easy for him to overtake my lifts lol. First step is to get back up to my PB of 180 kg then push on to a 200 kg deadlift.

"my son is catching up fast and I don't want to make it easy for him to overtake my lifts lol. "
Can't have that! :) GO TRU!

Way to keep ahead... :hurray: The competition is good and I suspect it's also good motivation for him trying to catch up to your lifts.

After Warmup

10 X 3 @ 110 kg (243 lb) deadlift
3 X 10 @ 140 kg (309 lb) shrugs

Chins

went to sons baseball last night, the team got off to a good start, they were the bottom team last year but won against the best team last night. my son took a spectacular full stretch diving catch in his position as catcher (it was a sky ball came down 3/4 of the way to first), the young pitchers done a great job, with one of them being his first time. I have to replace my instant ice packs this morning before heading to today's game as one of out players took a nasty hit under the ribs when batting last night.

Food was spot on yesterday, time to go and cook up some meat for breakfast because it will be another long day and won't be able to cook up meat at lunchtime. I usually don't eat breakfast.

Having stopped weighing in for 2 months now I have to judge progress in other ways, so this morning in the mirror I can see improved tricep definition with a nice horseshoe beginning to show when flexed. and hubby keeps asking if I know how much it might cost to have my loose skin removed from my belly. Some things just cannot be fixed with diet and exercise.
