So do you have a "regular" or two you play tennis with?

Reading about the heat reminded me another reason why I like racquetball...I don't do well in the heat...physically. About an hour of working in the yard in the heat and I'm zapped. The racquetball court has a thermostat and it's usually set on 69 degrees! :)

i have like 3-4 regs actually. i have one that will always play, no matter the day as long as it isn't raining. but everyone monday there are 4 of us. the him, then another person who i met on the court and another friend who likes to play once a week. i've been trying to play different people. i'm the type that'll walk up to someone playing alone and ask if they want a hitting partner. i like the variety in the people i play.

Frick man, you've just started training for your 5k was it? And you can do 7 miles in an hour????? Waaa I'm sooo slow... LOL

Hi RG! i am doing 7 miles on the elliptical so no worries there, the most i've run was 3 miles in 30 min. so about 6 per hour. and thanks for the compliments!

Ok Last night i played to hours of tennis, and it was quite enjoyable. Today, i hit the gym this morning for some moderate cardio, since i was a little sore and its my 1 hour session, so i figured i don't have to push so hard EVERY time i come in. I did push somewhat though. i did 6.63 miles in 60 minutes, but i was on level 16 instead of 15, so not bad at all. i clocked in 1020 calories as well. Now with the extra five minutes of cool down, i.e me catching my breath, well (not really i was fine, i didn't over work anything, but i just go really slow to relax the muscles and such) i did 7 miles for 1100 calories. hanging out with a co worker tonight, so no tennis. Most likely a sushi date with a friend tomorrow, so no tennis either, but i may go for a two mile run. we'll stepped on the scale today to see 248, but it doesn't count il next monday, so i'll keep plugging away. Ah yes, today i got my body fat percentage checked. It was 27%. which means i have 62.5 lbs of fat on me. the good news with that is this:

At 300, i was 35% which means i had 105 lbs of fat, and 195lbs of lean body mass. 50lbs later i am 62.5 lbs of fat, 187.5 lean body mass. So in those 50lbs 40 was fat and 10 was muscle lost. If i can do that with these last 50, i will be at 200 lbs, 25lbs fat, 175 lean body mass with a bf% of 12.5. i think that will be excellent, i hope to not only acheieve it, but possibly surpass it! next check will be at 225.

How is everyone doing today? hope all is well on all fronts for you guys.

That is excellent!!! Knowing that must be a huge motivator for you. Keep it up and you will surpass it fo' sho!! lol

yeah i'm in michigcan and ontario is the closest part of canada for me. i'm about 20 min west of windsor. So we've been pretty much getting the same weather. Its not bothering much while working out, just when i'm not. It just sooo humid man.

And don't forget, lost lean body mass isn't always muscle. There's also a loss of connective tissue etc that was there to support all your extra fat.

Let's see - when I was 287 lbs I had 36% bf, so 184 lbs lean body mass. Now, at 261 lbs, I have 31.5% bf, so 179 lbs lean body mass.
If I get to 200 lbs (assuming keeping the same lbm), I will have about 10.5% bf, which would be awfully nice. But, I'm sure my lbm won't stay there, as at the very least some loss of support and connective tissue will happen, which is probably a good thing.

right, LBM is pretty much everything that isn't fat. That's why i calculated losing about another 10 lbs of LBM, becasue i don't think its possible not to lose some.
 
Wednesday

Thanks for the compliments alta and melissa, of course i don't have to tell you ladies how beautiful the two of you look.

Well last night i did nothing lol. which was a nice change of pace. today's workout was long, but it felt great, full body on the circuits and 30 min of cardio. 3.23 miles 503 cals level 16 today. not bad at all. did a lot of weights today, and i feel great. i've been sluggish about getting to the gym, usually arriving at about 6:30 which is about 1 to 1.5 hours later than normal. today i plan to play a couple hours of tennis and be in bed no later than 9:30. I am so ready for my lower chest to start to pop like my upper, then i will be a happy happy camper! I guess that also includes lats, i know its only a matter of time and i see my body changing, but its the most unattractive part about my body to me and i want it gone now! lol
 
Thursday

OK here we are on thursday :) one more day left. anyway, yesterday i got in about 2.5 hours of tennis after work, which was super nice! played really well and felt great. Today i hit the good ole' elliptical, as it is cardio day. so here's the story. 60 min (the actual workout) 7.06 miles level 16 1040 calories. Total- 65 min (5 min cooldown), 7.33 miles 1105 colaires burn. not bad at al. tomorrow i will have a gym buddy who wants to try my workout with me so it should be fun! today i will try and get a little tennis in and get a haircut, man i need it lol.
so no one stopped by yesterday, which was a bummer, so i'll ask how is everyone doing today?
 
I don't think you're human, K! The more I read I think you're a machine...or at least a hybrid of sorts. I'm not sure how you find the time to do all this stuff!

So no tennis today, got shut down.... so I decided to do a trail run on a 5k. i set the path for 3.3 miles (a little bit longer than a 5k, but no worries) on google, and set off. Well i did it, and it took 37 minutes. I was shooting for 30, but i'll live. i figure with out the extra .15 miles, i'd finish it in 35 min, which is respectable. i've only been doing it for what 5 weeks now, and i'm sucky about running regularly. i did 2 miles last thurs and didn't run again until today. At least i know i am running again on sat though. I'll get my 30 min 5k soon enough... just you wait.

Hi all! WE are here! the end of the work week! Well today was a different day, because i had an friend come into town and she wanted to work out with me and follow my routine. It was great fun. we did two circuits of full body and 30 min of cardio, well actually because she didn't hev to go to work she did an hour (she kept going while i was in the shower). so it was a nice workout to compliment last night's run. good times all around. i may try to get a couple hours of tennis in tonight, hang out with her again, then tomorrow we are going for a 40 min run, which should be fun. what's new with you guys

Got in two hours of intense racquetball last night. I was exhausted....good stuff. Saw some significant movement on the scale this AM.

Workout buddies are AWESOME!! I think im slowly transforming my bf into my workout buddy. HAHA sucker! lol
