Kureransu's Log.

forgot to post yesterday.

Pretty much a cardio day. 45 min on the elliptical, then i went out and practiced my shooting in soccer. I have to save, My shots have come a long way. I actually have power in my shots now. Now i have to get my form down. I can bend the ball but its not consistent enough to go with my aim. In other words, if i got for a corner shot with a certain amount of bend in mind, there's a good chance i'll kick it flat and it'll go wide. But boy does it look good when it works like i want it to!

here's today's workout:

* Dumbbell Preacher Curl: weight per arm
o 45 lbs x 5
o 55 lbs x 5
o 65 lbs x 5
o 65 lbs x 5
o 55 lbs x 5
o 45 lbs x 5
* Bent-Arm barbell Pullover:
o 42 lbs x 5
o 52 lbs x 5
o 62 lbs x 5
o 62 lbs x 5
o 52 lbs x 5
o 42 lbs x 5
* Cable Curl:
o 65 lbs x 5
o 80 lbs x 5
o 95 lbs x 5
o 95 lbs x 5
o 80 lbs x 5
o 65 lbs x 5
o I don't know if these numbers are right. the pulley says this is the right weight, but every other pulley machine i use is MUCH easier with this same weight, so i'm just putting what i see.
* Bent Over Dumbbell Row With Palms In: (listed per arm)
o 80 lbs x 5
o 90 lbs x 5
o 100 lbs x 5
o 100 lbs x 5
o 90 lbs x 5
o 80 lbs x 5
* Wide-Grip Pull-Up:
o 3x10

So here is my weekend update til this morning.

Friday night, i did my wallyball session, which was fun, but one of my teammates was driving my up the wall. when he would be in front, he would play back court to the point where he was stepping on me. i'm like dude, move up and stay there, i got this back here. Then when he would play back court, he would let balls drop that i would have to run backwards to get. I'm like i will never run backwards fro a ball where there is someone playing back court behind me (we sometimes play 3 on 3, where there is no one in back court behind you to assist, but we were playing 4s and it was unacceptable for him to expect me to run backwards. I told him its easier for you to run forward than me run backward. so we lost a lot. still had fun though.

Saturday was overkill. After my class was over, i met with 4 other members of next session's soccer team to practice and such. we went from 3 til about 4:45. at that point one of the team mates and i went over to the tennis courts for 1.5 hours. My arms were still a little fatigued from friday's workout, so we called it and went back tot he field and practices shots and one-timers for another hour. I was absolutely exhausted.... so from 3-8 i was running like a mad man.

Sunday was ok. just my typical cardio circuit class, which i do enjoy a lot. its intense, but not as intense as the rest of my workouts, so its a nice intro into the new workout week. Pretty much relaxed and watched a movie with the gf.

Now today, well not too far into it, but here is the workout.

* Barbell Incline Bench Press:
o 225 lbs x 5
o 255 lbs x 5
o 295 lbs x 4
o 295 lbs x 3
o 255 lbs x 5
o 225 lbs x 5
* Cable Rope Triceps Extension:
o 70 lbs x 5
o 85 lbs x 5
o 100 lbs x 5
o 100 lbs x 5
o 85 lbs x 5
o 70 lbs x 5
* Decline Barbell Bench Press:
o 230 lbs x 5
o 260 lbs x 5
o 300 lbs x 5
o 300 lbs x 5
o 260 lbs x 5
o 230 lbs x 5
* Skullcrushers:
o 80 lbs x 5
o 90 lbs x 5
o 100 lbs x 5
o 100 lbs x 5
o 90 lbs x 5
o 80 lbs x 5

I was really saddened that i couldn't get that fifth rep up for 295. i was really hoping for it, since next week is the last week of the session and i was hoping to get all my lifts to at least 300 for 5 reps. I am still going to try at least one set for 300 for 5, but not hitting 295 has me worried....

Decline i was supposed to move it 2 310, since i did 300 last week, but i put 5s on the end instead of 10s and well, did 300 again this week. no worries though, i'm still happy that i made my goal for at least decline already.

Tonight is the last soccer game of the season, and i am seriously looking for a win! we'll be 4-4-1 and i'll be ecstatic about that. I'm grabbing dinner after the game with a friend since we've been saying we were going to it it one day since we started in october.. The crazy thing is she started dating this guy and he is/ was going to come along, but now she's not feeling him at all lol. In two weeks he's said he loves her and they've not known each other long at all.... He's moving really fast and it seems that it has completely turned her off to him... sucks to be him. so we had to devise a plan of action in case she hasn't broken it off with him before we play( he plays in the soccer league too, just on another team. he ALWAYS watches her games though). which was hilarious. anyway. that's my update. i'll be roaming the other journals throughout the day.

I went to the movies last night to see fast five. It was ok. the best part was the movie stopped for like five min so we got complimentary passes, so we'll probably see thor this weekend. I was thinking about paying tennis, but i think i'll rest up. i had a pretty tough lower body day today, so I'm just going to relax and rest early. so yesterday i ran 4.1 miles on the ol' treadmill, took 36 min. It was tough, i haven't really ran much and going for a 9 min mile off jump was a little daunting. but i survived. Today was lower body, and i just couldn't get pumped for my dead lifts. I just wasn't feeling it no matter what i tried so i just stayed at 315 after 2 failed attempts. to make up for it i hit everything else in lower body to make myself feel better. here you go:

* Barbell Deadlift:
o 225 lbs x 5
o 315 lbs x 5
o 405 lbs x 1
o 365 lbs x 1
o 315 lbs x 5

o 315 lbs x 5
o 225 lbs x 5

* Abductor Machine:
o 190 lbs x 15
o 190 lbs x 15
o 190 lbs x 15
* Adductor Machine:
o 190 lbs x 20
o 190 lbs x 20

Looking forward to wallyball tonight, this weekend most likely me fighting food from restaurants since we are going out to eat with my gf's mom... I'm so not used to doing things for mother's day. kinda weird for me.

kinda missed a this week on here lol, well here's an update for today at least..

Yesterday evening i play 2.5 hours of tennis, which made up for my lack of doing NOTHING on tuesday, which i don't regret, i was pretty spent. Had a really good time with tennis and was beyond exhausted when i got home!

Today i decided to change it up a bit for cardio, just sick of same ole same ole.. you know so here is what was my challenge for cardio today...

it was pretty exhausting, let me tell you. I counted down and up as one "lap" per say and i did a total of fifty. Took 48:30, which is great because i wanted at least 45 min of cardio, and i didn't wan tot go in to supplement any loss time. i did it in 5 sets of ten, which i would walk a lap around the stairs and rehydrate, because i would be dried out after ten. I felt pretty good about it, and i will most likely make this one of my cardio days, as i find other ways to cycle through. I might try jump rope next, although that may be boring for such a long period of time. we'll see though.

I know no one ever reads this thing, but i figured i'd post anyway, it's been a year now and well. Why not.

So, and Update.

This year has been a fantastic year. To me, its like 2009 all over again where i joined this place and lost 108lbs. It was a great run, and while it was awesome to lose all that, i felt really scrawny and wasn't happy with myself. So 2010- 11 I lifted heavy and Just ate ok. I went back up to about 260, where my lowest was 222.

Now here we are again! I like my size now and I'm been going crazy since march of this year! i'm now 211 lbs, 19.1% bf and actually just ran a 5k this past weekend. It was fun times and I finished in 27:12 and 12th in my age group, which i'm not complaining about. The thing is, now even though i want to lose about 15 more lbs, i FEEL like i'm fit. Sure i have my problem areas (i'm sure those who reads Alta's journal know we will always have areas we want to work out) but i at least feel like i'm moving in that direction. I'm playing a ton of sports now, swimming, running, biking, both road and trail, and just enjoying life. here's a couple pics of me now and approaching Home Plate (that was the finish line of the race at comerica park) during my 5k. hard to believe in 2009 i was 330lbs...Hope all is well!

Kureransu!!!!!!!! First off, OMG look at you go, boy!

That's super impressive! Getttt it! You have reached such a happy place in your life and it's beautiful to read about. It's funny how this will constantly be a roller coaster of life. Ups and downs and other times better than others.

You look so happy and fit and sound so at peace. I love it! We are always striving and that's the beauty of it. That we just KNOW that pushing towards a new goal is the way to keep "living". Not about hating where we are, just about appreciating that we can go somewhere new. :)

And... OMG.. I SO did not expect to come in here and get a SHOUTOUT! Wohoo!! YEA YEA! ;) Thank you!

I'm going to be sticking around here too! What do you say? Let's PUSH for a new us!?

Hello All,

I just wanted to bring this thread from the dead to let you guys know that I did finally hit my goal of 200 lbs. I actually hit it last year, but this year is the year i'm happiest at 200lbs. I know It seems pretty high for a guy 5'8" but I've been lifting really hard these last 5.5 years and I'm pretty healthy. My summer goal is now 190, which i think i'll hang around for a while. If you guys have any questions, i'd be more than happy to answer. here's my First picture I posted here in feb of 2009, and last week.
