kureransu...

hi big guy ;)

heres a little animation for you...that i'm sure you've already seen...
but how did he do it??? finn loves this!!

yesterday i got called into work which was a bummer. but i did get in a little of tennis before the sun went down!. today i only did 30 min of cardio, and 70 pushups. a friend and i were trying new things out that he is learning from his personal trainer. he has to do 30 push ups a day, and i told him for every ten he does i'll do twenty. he's a pretty slim guy, just out of shape. so he did 35 i did 70. did the bowling which sas annoying i bowled a 194 and a 199. 200 didn't like me today. anyway hopefully i lose something tomorrow. i'll let you guys know

Hey bro, I'm back :p

I've just been catching up on your journal. Great stuff! My weight loss has slowed as well, but in my case it's mostly due to lack of exercise. Now that I'm feeling a little better I hope to change that this week.

I enjoyed reading about your gym stories. It's crazy how much knowledge you can pick up along the way when it comes to fitness and weight loss, and it's also crazy how much misinformation there is out there! It's really all further proof as to why I remain agnostic. I mean, I have always bought into the idea that having 5-6 smaller meals per day versus 3 meals will stoke your metabolism... but as it turns out unless you have blood sugar issues there is no difference according to pretty much any valid study on the subject. It sounded plausible so I believed it. When will I learn?

Looking forward to seeing you post your numbers tomorrow. Not looking forward to posting mine :)

WTF!?!?! and other notes.

good ole' michigan. one of the few places in the world that, can make you sick in an instant. Yesterday was about 50 and partly cloudy. today, is a winter storm warning in effect for about 10 inches of snow until 8pm. I wke up to 3 inches this morning. The snow is HEAVY as well. so yeah, no tennis this week it seems. I went back to circuit training to mix cardio more with weights to lose more. I weighed in today to see i hit another milestone. Down 5 lbs! that's buts me at 289 and 41 lbs lost. Yay me! Well i guess i should work. i'll be checking things out in other threads and actually replying today!

and guys (relly, schwa, bl) thanks for the recent support. i hate to say it but i was starting to grow wary of posting on here, because no one was replying. I know my journal isn't witty or even all that personal, but it stays on point i believe i provide good info! anyway. have a good day guys. this ta will be open all day, so i'll be looking!

Hey bud... sorry i have been MIA lately. Its been a long week. ( more on my page wont go there on here)

anyways, your dedication is amazing. Way to stick through it thus far! The snow didnt even keep you from working out... i most likely would have used that as an excuse to drink hot chocolate and do NOTHING haha :)

well im back now so im sure you will be hearing more frequently in the next few days haha.

:waving:

Howdy

Just checking in to say hi. After reading the thread all I can say is "bloody 'ell". If I can get 1% of your dedication and commitment going I'll be happy! Keep the journal going, it encourages the rest of us.

Looks like you've been kicking butt! Congrats on losing so much!

Kureransu... Is your name Clarence, then? :)

I spent three years in Japan, so I read everything like katakana....

tuesday!

hey everyone! sorry it took so long to post. i have had the reply window open for ever, but i got a couple of deadlines coming up and we had a couple of meetings to make sure everyone knew what needed to be done by who by when...if that makes any sense. then lunch came. now i am back. Anyway. 65 min of elliptical per usual. Today i looked at myself and actually feel like i am getting smaller! its a good feeling to have because i feel i look mostly the same except my clothes are too big. here's to losing weight! I talked to the other guy who hangs around my weight today. i told him not to settle for 250 because he is 6 foot 2. i told him based on your shoulders, you are not a big guy, just a fat guy who is getting smaller fast (don't worry, no offense was taken or implied there) i told him when he hits 250 and doesn't like what he sees, he'll understand. he is small, and right now the fat is just kinda hanging off of him likes its melting. obviously since he lost 100lbs in 4 months he has a ton of loose skin, which is his biggest complaint. I told him the way he lost he has to do it in two steps. one for the lost and the other to tighten skin. i also told him he needs to find a way to work on his legs, because he never does. always chest. i like that he listen to me, because the mroe he loses, the more i feel i have to lose to keep up with him, because he the fat just pours off of him. when i met him he was 11 lbs heabier, and now he is the same weight. he lost 101 in the same time i lost 41, which is amazing. and you can definately see it. i try to ride him to keep him from settling for ok and go for the best. he ahs this assumption that losing weight means being skinny, which is what he doesn't want. i told him to turn some of that excess into muscle and he''ll be fine. i hope he listens. i am glad he started hitting the weights now as he was all cardio with 1000 crunches in between.

anyway, relly, thanks for the post, i love seeing people post on here. gives me a reason to come back. i know a lot of people view, but its nice to hear some feedback every so often. have a great day everyone.

That guy lost 100lbs in 4 months? 1000 crunches? Hell where do ye guys live? Krypton??

After reading some more of your journal kureransu and your workout routines, I'm starting to believe you're actually He-man in disguise...

Ha! he-man? no no, just determined. The regulars in the morning do a lot more than i do. they actually make me feel bad, when i get there after them and leave before them. one guys does an hour of cardio, then an hour of weights mon-fri. i wish. i do an hour of cardio 3 days, and an hour of weights 3 days. I play tennis as well and he bikes about 100 miles every weekend. he's been doing this for about 10 years though, so i don't feel too intimidated....

Ddr station!

ok guys i am stoked! as if i don't do enough already i have made myself a DDR (dance dance revolution) station in my basement! for those that don't know what ddr is, i'll explain. its a rhythm game much like the rockbands and guitar heroes you see today, but instead of playing and instruments, you dance! which is following a pattern of arrows on screen and stepping on the corresponding one a=on a pad you stand on. it seems simplistic, but the harder the levels the more arrows and the more cardio you get! i had an old 27" CRT sitting in my closet, and a ps2 collecting dust. I finally came up witht he idea to take the tv in the basement, along witht he ps2 and some dance pads, and get some late night cardio in!! this will work wonders. it'll be good to see where my stamina is on this game, since i haven't played in so long due to living on the top floor. i am ecstatic! i will probably start playing tomorrow, unless the weather is super nice and the snow melts by 5 to play tennis! its supposed to be 54 and sunny tomorrow, even though we had a snow storm today. oh man, wii fit has nothing on good ole' DDR! (no offense to wiii fit users)

wednesday.

hi all. i did another round of circuit. kinda fun, yet very worn.. i figure i'll let you guys in on what i did today..
1st was core.
crunches
saxon side bends
bridge(30 sec)
pulse ups, and
back extentions.

25 each 1 set and no rest between.

resistance:

lat pulldown
seated rows
decline bench
flys
military press
upright row
dips
bicep curl
lunges
leg curl
leg extention

so i did each of those one after the other with no more than 30 sec of rest between, after i finished all of them, took a 1.5 min break and went at it again. each was 10 reps with the exception of the decline, which was 15.

It wwas nice and exhilarating! i did it on monday was well. but with different workouts which i didn't post. friday will focus a little more on legs. i think i will actually get to play tennis today! so that adds to the excitement that is today. if it doesn't turn out, i still have DDR!

Wii Fit tracks your weight, offers a variety of exercises and guidance, and has some fun activities to mix things up.... but you're right. For pure cardio goodness, nothing beats DDR, especially on higher difficulties. :)

If i had better coordination... id be all about this whole ddr rave lol..... but i do not... i get too confused too quickly. Thats why i could never do step aerobics eiether.... i SUCK at it. I am terrible terrible terrible!!!

The ddr station you have set up in your basement sounds SWEEEET.

Too bad i dont live closer... maybe i could have LESSONS!!!!
haha

How are you buddy!?!?!

missed YA!
