i must be working hard now!
i totally missed relly's and bl's post yesterday. i don't know how, but i did. Well i guess it comes from working white posting, which ends up taking about 30 minutes to actually finish and post. like now. i started this post at 9:30 and its 9:41 now hahah.
so today's cardio was typical. resistance of 10 and 8 miles in 65 min. getting stronger by the day. legs are sore from leg day, but that is to be expected. but i have a little story for you guys.
I need to start recommending people at the gym to this site. i met a guy yesterday who was working out for the first time. The He was trying to operate the reverse leg curl machine and couldn't figure it out. So i helped him and the first thing he asked was "where are the things to work on your stomach" i told him that won't make you lose it per say, but you will ahve a nice core with fat sitting on top if you only work the core. i explained to him the muscles that makes up his core and 1 exercise that works each group to start him off. I felt so good helping him. well i saw him today and he tells me he wants to lose 50 lbs by june first. i told him not gonna happen. he was like everyone keeps telling me that, so i'm just going to have to prove them wrong! He goes on to say. i just eat one salad a day and that's it. so i tell him ok. you can lose it but you will be significantly weaker and look pretty bad loose skin and all. do you really want your skin to look like drapery? another guy chimes in with an awesome quote. he says. "you say you want to lose weight and keep it off, but you say you are on a diet. what you need to be is on a live it!" i was laughing so hard..
there is another guy who was 391. he is now 292 4 months later. he is loose skin central. we talk, because we are now around the same weight and i tell him that he needs to do more weights because 3 hours of cardio a day won't bring that skin back. i tell him all the time. today another woman, comes out and says to him i see you hear everday and that's great, but you barely touch the weights. they as important and there is no reason to rush the weight off so fast. i chime and tell him you'll be working out to lose then you'll be working just to tighten your skin up. just take it a little slower and do it all at once. hit the weights and not just those machines! get some dumbells and work. his thing is that he doesn't push himself. sure he'll work up a sweat, but he never pushes that threshold of quitting and to keep going. when he gets tired he goes slower. i try to tell him that his body will surprise him if he would just push, but i guess since he is losing he is happy. i want him to be health and slim, his endurance shouldn't be the same coming in as it is going out and it annoys me, because i can't help him realize that. I tell him how i was doing 9-10 mph of the elliptical so i raised the resistance up 10 steps. and started over. all he says is that he can't do that, i'm like you can do whatever you put your mind to. i'm already at 7-8 mph and resistance 10 and when i get to 9-10 i'll move up to 30. it just bugs me when people get so far and stop short for no reason. i'll let you guys know if i can get the flame under their rears. thanks fro reading this insanely long post.
