I love hummus! My best friend's boyfriend makes it from scratch and it is soooo good. I cannot believe how very close you are!

hummus is a spread or a dip that you can use for all sorts of things... it is mediteranean in style... but basically, if you take chick peas (aka garbanzo beans) and mush them up and add spices and other additions you have hummus. I get roasted red pepper hummus at the store - and I love it spread on a bagel... it is quick, easy, and has lots of protein!

oh... and the last time I saw my family was at the beginning of August... it was the last time I saw my fiance too!!! So he will have a good look at me also =)

breakfast:
yogurt, berries, granola (200)
tea (0)

snack:
coffee (60)
lemon bar (200)

lunch:
tortilla, leftover filling from last night (250)
jello (10)

snack:
granola bar (160)
coffee (60)

spinach (fried w/ butter & garlic) (100)

I bet everyone tells you how gorgeous you are! You've come so far! You should feel like you're on top of the world! Are you in school? military? are they in a diff state than you?

They are in another state... I'm from Iowa, but I'm in graduate school in Tennessee - so I'm far from home and my fiance and everyone else... but school is great! I actually have been sooo busy lately that I don't have much time to miss them, but it is still hard being away.

I can't believe how close you are to your goal!! This 5 pd club is it for you! What are your plans after you hit your goal? You think you'll extend it at all or just work on maintaining it?? Either way, I"m really so proud of you! You must feel like a million bucks!

I actually think I will extend my goal... I have been thinking about trying to reach 125 - which is right in the middle of my "healthy weight" range... my goal right now is just to hit the range at all! =) I am feeling great about it, but at the same time, I do worry about how I am going to maintain it... I don't want to lose any more weight at that point I think, b/c i like my curves - but I want to keep up the exercise... it may take me a little while to figure out exactly what I need to be doing food/fitness wise to maintain a weight of 125ish

needless to say, I'll be around for a while! =)

Hi, I'm trying to get caught up with people around here so I started off reading your first page. Not going through 23 pages though, so it gave me an idea of where you started from. Now reading this latest page I just want to say Wow! You started off basically with no knowledge of what you were eating every day or anything. And you have come so far in great time. This is exactly the reason for these diaries. To be able to see the success day to day and where it has taken you has to be really exciting. Congratulations. You have done an excellent job!!

okay... so I have some great news - my parents have struggled with their weight for a while - my dad because of diabetes (but he doesn't want to admit he has a problem) and my mom has been heavy for as long as I can remember... She has always been trying different diets and has always quit and gained it back... and for that reason, my dad doesn't have alot of faith in her ability to succede and she doesn't get much support from him.

BUT she has been on a new program, and she has been working out every morning, and she told me on the phone that she has lost almost 20 lbs! I havn't seen her for two and a half months, and she had started this right before I left, so I'm so proud of her!!! I know that I had posted in here before about worrying about them, so I wanted to share that. She has also found a forum with whatever plan she is doing, and it has helped her alot. If I find out any info, I'll let you know what it's called.
