Katie's Diary

Good job at the potluck! I'm a sucker for a potluck dinner (funny, because I really hate buffet restaurants...) and I know it is hard to watch intake and calories. I agree that being the host might have helped... too busy to eat!
Keep up the good work!

Potlucks are HARD! Everything always looks so good, and you know that usually the people bringing them bring their "best dish". Small portions!

breakfast:
yogurt, granola, berries (200)

lunch:
spaghetti w/ meatballs (350)
jello (10)

snack:
granola bar (160)
coffee (30)

dinner:
2 beers (250)
1 slice pizza (300)

total cals:1450 - which isn't too bad considering I had pizza for dinner!! and alcohol... I limited myself to two... i had the option of going out later, but i figured i should go home and go to bed... so i did... and it prevents me from drinking down more calories!!!
h2o: 64 +
exercise: -

I REALLY need to exercise tomorrow... someone kick me if I don't go running in the morning! I'm going to be in bed by 10 tonight, so I should be able to get up at 6, go for a run, and still have time to accomplish what I need to do tomorrow.

oh man, I'm addicted to pizza! I just can't stop eating it! Pizza really isn't so bad though, if you just have one slice. Only 8 pounds to go! You're doing great.

Wednesday weigh-in = 142!!!! Which isn't as fast as I would like to be losing ( I was hoping for 2lbs a week) but I also haven't been exercising as much as I should and don't stick as close to my plan as I would like... BUT it's still something...

Breakfast:
egg on toast (160)
orange juice (100)

lunch:
half ham and cheese sandwich (200)
pasta salad (50)
chips (100)

dinner:
fish and potato soup (almost gone!!!) (280)
glass of wine (120)
cake (150)

total cals: 1160 so far
h2o: 70+
exercise: woo hoo!!! 20 min. running... now my butt won't get kicked! (120r, 60w)

I also realized that while the recipie prepared 4 servings of soup at 350 cals a piece, I have actually created five servings... so if I have that mathematically figured right, it has only been 280 per serving...

exercise: 15 min running (30/60s walk, 20s jog, 10s spring, 20s jog, 10s sprint)

for anyone wondering about my crazy numbers and letters after my exercise, I have been trying to vary the paces at which I run, kind of a modified HIIT - and so today I did the above... I wanted to pick up the pace a bit. I began doing only 30s walking, but the second half, I took it back up to 60... I also completed my course a few minutes faster - it's amazing what a bit of good solid running will do!!!

I'm not looking forward to my calories for tonight... I have used about 1000 already (at 5:30) and I still have quite a few hours of awake time left... I'm going bowling this evening, so wish me luck staying away from the nachoes and pizza and beer!!!

*edit - so at work, they had a bunch of leftover food from this meeting, so I made that my dinner... and didn't have anything at the bowling alley - so I did good! It helped that we weren't there that long and that no one else got food - *

awsome running! sounds like a great habbit to get into! As soon as my body can handle it I would love to get into running/jogging.

well... maybe the weight was going to drop as of friday afternoon.... but not after the past 24 hours of my life...

Friday night - four drinks and lots of snacky junk food - I figured it was my one day off... so I spurged...

Saturday - started off okay - egg on wheat w/ tea and oj for breakfast... then jack in the box cibatta chicken for lunch w/ a root beer float... and for dinner - beer, chips, salsa, 3/4 pint of moose tracks ice cream... and at least 3 more hours of studying, so we are looking at coffee and whatever else it takes to keep me up =(
