Justina: Back to square one - very excited & determined to do this right

Hey girl :) That restaurant sounds amazing! Don't mind the scale...somedays it just has a mind of its own. The meal and experience seem entirely worth it. We all need to just enjoy ourselves once in awhile without worrying.

I kind of indulged this weekend as well. It is funny because before I started being more healthy, indulging would start a chain reaction of over-indulgence haha. It was cool to be able to just enjoy myself, not go too overboard, and not worry about it too much.

Anyways, hope the rest of your weekend was great!

~Camila~

Glad you had a great dining experience and don't worry, you did not gain 3 pounds! It's most definitely is sodium/food weight. I ate just above maintenance on Saturday, and this morning I was up 2 pounds. I expect that to be completely gone within a couple days and to see a loss by next friday!

Justina, that restaurant sounds delish! I wouldn't worry too much about the weight, remember I went through the same thing for a whole week and then the scale just suddenly started cooperating again.

Don't be discouraged!

Boo, the scale does get tricky.

It sounds like you enjoyed yourself and you're feeling good! I wouldn't worry too much about the scale, it could be the sodium like you said! Drink lots of water!

Enjoy the gym today! Hope you have a great week.

We all like to see the scale move in the right direction, but long term thinking is usually the best to keep you on the straight and narrow. I had a weird four pound spike this week that bothered me, but all that really meant was that my weight at the time was _only_ 90 pounds less than when I started. And of course it was almost all water as those four pounds are now gone by today.

Camila - thanks!! & yes the restaurant was fab!!!! :) I used to over-indulge daily before - without taking notice. Now i even try to make the treat healthy as much as possible!

Mystic - thanks so much for the encouragement!! I really hope it goes down - I was so upset about it!

Mands - thanks, i hope it happens for me too! & scale will smile again at me!! :)

abitofbliss - good point. need to get more water in! thanks!!

MrVee - you are right it's long term...and I know I should not worry - but don't we all get a bit discouraged when the numbers go up? we know it's ok, yet we still don't like what we see.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have been super-behaving myself!! Yesterday I was sooooo full from that fry up - I dont think I ll have it soon again.
I did have my fresh veggie juice for dinner though - that felt good. my body rejoiced as I was drinking it- no kidding :D

Today I am stepping up the exercise! I did 50 min toning DVD!! AND I am going to the gym later for cardio...
I am really pleased!

PLus we bought the tickets for Europe!!! I cant wait..home sweet home & some vacation time thrown in too. 5-week bliss!! 4 more months to go! Enough to make myself look better, eh? I could be down to 215!! That would be awesome. I could feel good about myself & be more confident!

Food today
B: Banana
S: -
L: Rice salad with tuna, peas, spring onion, olives, parsley, tomato, pepper
S: Ezekiel toast
D: Juicing

E: 50 mins toning, 60 min cardio!!!

Hey Justina - I know what you mean on the fresh veggie juice... the bottle-stuff just does not compar at all - hard to describe unless you've tried it... that reminds me...gonna go make my apple-pear/celery blender-smoothie right away...

So exciting on your trip home- and what terrific motivation - ... happy toning & cardio today - on your way to 215 ! woo hoo ....

Justinaaa we are so alike! I just bought Ezekiel bread for the first time this weekend. Holy amazing!!!! It was an impulse buy (okay, I was intrigued by the packaging haha) and so worth it. So delicious, especially toasted.

Isn't it amazing how your body reacts after juice?? The first few times I juiced I got a lightheaded rush. I don't do any kind of drugs but I imagined it to be sort of a "green high" lol. My body definitely approved. It still happens if I have juice on an empty stomach.

Oh...and YAY Europe! I am ultra jealous!! What awesome motivation! Have a great rest of your week :)

~Camila~

I want a European trip! It's been far too long. :(
Have a great time when you go home. Eat healthy and live well now so you can splurge a little when you go back!

By the way, you are ROCKIN' IT right now. You definitely are setting a good pace, Justina.

Maryann -- oh yeah! there is a massive difference between store bought juice and freshly made one. Pear/apple celery sounds good - how did it come out?

Mystic -- thanks!! Europe rocks!!! You should defo visit sometime! :)

Camila -- Haha Camila - by the look of it - we do eat very similar!!! :) I got the Ezekiel bread idea from Food Babe - ever heard of her? I follow her on fb - she is really cool!! She has some awesome recipes too. & very knowledgeable. I totally know what you mean by "green high" !!! Such a good feeling!

Cory --good. try juicing!! it's yum & good for you - it will energize you!

Don Keykong -- European trip - not just yet - in July - I have to work hard to look good by the time I leave for the trip!! Totally motivational!!! :D

I have just discovered that you can enlarge the window when you are type a post here - duh??! it just took me several years to figure that out...hahaha
Anyway loads of studying going on these days...PHYSIOLOGY IS HARD!!! I actually went to the library to take a CLEP Chemistry book out - need to brush up on some stuff - plus i never learned Chemistry in English (or Biology) - so tons of new words for me....I have wiki dictionary open all the time...It takes me about an hour & half to get through a 25 min lecture!
Having said that - it's all very interesting - and makes me even more conscious of what i eat..

Speaking of eating...today i had:
B:Ezekiel bread with lingonberry jam & latte
S: Banana -nuts
L: Turosteszta (home speciality)
S: Marinated anchovies
D: Fresh veggie juice

E: 1 hour cardio in the gym

Oh man, just checked her out on Facebook. Thank you for giving me the tip! I loveeee finding great resources. Keeps me motivated.

Sounds like you are doing great today! I admire your determination with your studies!

~Camila~

Hey Justina , your torosteszta sounds yummy - .... & great work on your 1hour cardio !

..my blender smoothie - asian pear( I call it an apple-pear) with celery - was really good- I sprinkle a dash of nutmeg on top... and I do blend-in 1 cup water when I make it- so it's not too thick - as with the "blender version" that I do , all the fibre is included too , ... :) ...I've only braved celery and cucumber so far for the veggies... some day will brave trying some spinach or kale... ;)

Maryann, you'd be surprised how light the flavoring is for things like spinach...it just turns everything green!

Justina, like some others here, I looked up Turosteszta and WANT some! That looks good... but way off my allowed foods list. :)

Ok Don & Justina - since you both rave about juice with "green" - I will brave the "green"...will try some spinach added in tomorrow.... :ack2: ... lol .... wish me luck !
