Juliette cross-training for Romèo

Thanks, Steve! :) You made my day!!! :D
This morning woke up really early, had breakfast, went for a run. Had a really bad time getting started, breathing was not like it normally is. But I got everything going so in the end I made up for the slow start and the 6 km interval (walk-run) took me a bit less than last week.
I'm going to buy new shoes, the old ones need to retire.. Think I'll have the time for that on Wednesday morning.
After the run we went shopping with friends, now a little breather at home before this evenings party. :D
Tomorrow hiking is in the schedule and then it's time to get my brain back to business for Monday morning. I'm really enjoying this 5 day "holiday" in the middle of the season. Maybe I'll live to the next holiday (in June) with this energy.
Have a fantastic weekend!
Julie

Hi Juliette,
It sounds like everything is going well!

You and I have a very similar diet, and we used to eat the same way too - it boggles my mind that I can eat so much more, and I'm not gaining weight!

Granted, the weight loss is slower too - but I feel really good :)

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, it sounds like you have a fun one planned :)

Just a few words..
For the next 9 days I'll be away from home working my head off (again!). I'll be home next time Wednesday April 4th. It wasn't supposed to be like this, but somebody's fallen ill again. I'm not complaining, it's the sort of work assignment that I had wanted to do for a while and now I will. I'm just hoping that this won't screw up my personal goals, exercise, eating.. But this is what I do, I need to learn to live with it.
I'll visit here as much as I can and keep you posted. :)
Now to bed, 6 am start tomorrow!

Hey there Juliette. Just dropping in to say hello to a fellow spring flinger and to wish you luck with the challenge.

Thanks for everybody for stopping by in my diary!!!!
It's so nice to come back and see you've been here.. :) :)
So I came back home today after a good work-tripping time and since this was the first time in two weeks to weigh myself on my own scales, I did that: 67,1 kg. That's 147.8 lb.
That's only 0,1 kg more than before this non-chosen eating-what-you-can-get -period of time. Last time I did this I gained about 1 kg, so I'm kinda happy here.. :D  :D
I had no chance of weighing myself for the April challenge on 1st April, so I had to use an average of what I weighed on another scale on Saturday 31st March and what the scale said today. That came to 149.3 lbs. So that's my official "start of April challenge -weight"!
Since I'm hoping to lose 5 pounds before the 5th of May, I'm going to have to start moving...
I'll be home and active at least until next Tuesday, so no excuses before that!! I've been really active on the 30 minutes a day outside -challenge so far, so I'm trying to keep that up.. Nice weathers here are helping me. :)
I'm so glad to be back!! :D

April
1st 6 km =3,73 miles

That's also more than 30 minutes outside every day for the Spring Challenge:

GOOOO, Spring Flings!!

Today I need to do some serious grocery shopping and house cleaning for Easter. The last weeks have not been very nice for my apartment, there seem to be half unpacked suitcases everywhere..
And then, hopefully, the rest of Easter I'll be holidaying. Well, not counting the exercise and outdoor activities, of course. ;)

Hello there!
Thanks for stopping by here.
Yesterday was a total recovery day. I had all kinds of things planned, but managed to do only the absolutely vital things like groceries. Too tired..
Today I have planned some serious walking: I've decided to take part in a 25 mile walk in the end of May, so I need to practice. This is the 5th time they arrange this walk, so I've talked to some people who've done it and got some good advice for shoes, socks, etc. But most importantly I need to do some long walks before so that I have an idea of how it's going to be. Today I'm going for about 10 miles, if the weather stays like it is now, sunny. I bit too windy to my taste, but at least it's not raining!
Then I have some gardening to do. I have only a balcony here on the 4th floor, but I'm going to sow some tomatoes, sweet peas, basil and lobelias and plant some garlic which didn't want to be eaten and decided to grow instead. It'll take at least two months for it to be so warm outside that I actually put the plants to the balcony, but I need to get them growing already, since the period of growth outside is very short here. Last years chives is already growing out there and I've got two little willows in good growth. I'm afraid that my strawberries might not have survived the winter, but time will tell...
I've got some lamb in basil-garlic-lemon-mint marinade for the evening. Very easterish.. An avocado-red pepper salad and some broccoli to go with that.
I'm looking forward to this day, I hope all of you feel the same! :)
