Journey, Not A Destination

Hey - the lions that guard the front of the New York Public Library are named Patience and Fortitude.. they were named by mayor Fiorello Laguardia... a long long time ago..

(*just had to tell you something that you didn't know perhaps...)

You trying to tell me something?

You trying to tell me something?

Nuh uh - i'm not THAT passive aggressive...

I try to be helpful and encouraging to you - but you've far to grounded for me to ever tell you something you didn't already know with regards to yourself.

So i'm taking a different approach - I'll tell you all sorts of stuff I know about trivial shit... :D

Its comeing I suppose. I have a practical exam in Lab next Monday, but I feel like I will do okay. Its just tons of info that I am forced to learn on my own... but at the same time its kind of fun. Like yesterday in wet lab we looked at a knee from both a man and woman... its amazing how heavy the joint was and how thick the muscle around it is. Pretty cool stuff. But also pretty STINKY!

Ya I guess we are lucky since UNM has a hospital we get to have a cadiver lab. We don't actaully get to disect anything (which is fine with me) but we did to look at them and touch them and all that good stuff. Yesterday was our first wet lab and I think once we get into the mucles we will have more of them.

That's a very cool experience.

Last year I went to the Body World exhibit in Philadelphia, which I believe is still bouncing around the country... and it was a phenomenal experience.

Hey Steve it is taking me a long time to cool down after my gym workout, its an hour after my shower and the sweat is still dripping down my temples and back. Does this mean my metabolism has been increased? Am I burning more calories?

Steve,
We picked our hike. We are climbing Mt Lafayette on October 10th. Just need mother nature to cooperate. Little nervous but the guy I'm going with has been up there several times. (he grew up about 15 minutes away). He thinks i should have no problem. I have been checking out a lot of blogs and pics from the hike and i cant wait. It looks so cool up there.

I know you have done some hiking in the Whites but cant remember if you did Lafayette???

Matt

I'm sure you're metabolism is increased a bit but that's not why you're sweating. What did you do at your workout?

Ya know, I can't remember if we did that one or not. I believe we did all the 4000+ footers and if I remember, Lafayette belongs in that category.

I posted my workout in my diary but its not detailed as I am still learning the names and stuff. Did twenty minutes of intervals on the treadmill (alternating the slope between 3 and maximum for two minutes at a time).

Then I went on the machines. I will tell you the details asap. They are intended for overall strengthening just to get things started.
