Journey, Not A Destination

Took me a second to get that at first. For a second I thought she was hinting that she was a guy...;)

Yeah, she can be intimidating like a man alright...

i've been accused of being a guy on this forum a few times - a bully too... :D i'm just a big ole meanie.. grrrr

Well, yes, you are a bully and a big ole meanie, just not a GUY. Except, I am fairly certain you could kick my ass in a fight.

Oooooooooooooooooooo...can I watch, my money is on Mal ;)

My cut won't be over this weekend. This phase will be over but I'll still be doing stuff to trigger more fat loss. It just won't be as extreme.

Ok... I'll hold off on that UPS shipment of homemade chocolate chip cookies... guess I'll have to eat them myself...:D

Oh my diets consist of cookies and the like, don't you worry. I've been strict for a week or so, but that hardly paints an accurate picture.

I've read before that you eat junk everyday... I just didn't know if you kept the junk out while cutting. Once way back when I cut out all junk foods, even chocolate and sweets which are my homeboys, for an entire year... I must have bee insane.

Yea, I don't eat a lot. And it all depends on how serious I'm being. Right now I'm being pretty serious so I'll pay much closer attention to diet composition. But I've cut down before being very lax on what was going in my mouth beyond the essentials, and had success doing so.

Quotes and ramblings

Believe those who are seeking the truth; doubt those who find it.

Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.

To be ignorant of one's ignorance is the malady of the ignorant.

My advice to some people would be to stick to what you know when giving advice. With regards to the things you don't know, yet want to, strive to better yourself by way of education before leading. Anyone can lead but a leader without direction and ill-motives is a little less than worthless IMO.

Worse yet, the ignorance of the masses will buy into said leadership and a self-fulfilling prophecy will unfold where your ignorance compounds by the day in the eyes of those who know.

Weight is steady at 189. I'm definitely leaning out. I thought it would be more so but I'm sure I did some damage this weekend. Plus, it's early yet. I'm in no rush to be super lean at the moment.

Question for anyone who has experience:

What sort of programs do you use to make videos; the kind where you can edit, add voice-over, etc?

I haven't done it myself -but if you've got access to a mac, the editing tools on there are far superior to those on a pc -theres a home movie program that does exactly what you'll want -and since it's a mac-- the learning curve on it -- isn't tough...

(If you don't have access to a mac, they are somehtig that can be rented for a weekend or two)

I would need one for a long time... I mean, we are going to be making and editing videos forever.

Hmmm, maybe I have to think about purchasing one.

business expense - and they're not near as expensive as they used to be...

There's an Apple Store in the KIng of Prussia mall -which Mapquest says is a bit of a field trip for you (30 miles) but might be worth investigating if you don't get any answers for a pc version..

KOP Mall is right around the corner.... one of the best malls on the east coast and I do go there frequently, considering the shopper that I'm not. I might have to check it out.

The video camera we purchased came with some PC software. It just doesn't seem very user friendly to date. Editing these videos is turning into a real bitch.

Bah, Windows Movie Maker in a machine with enough RAM will do the job. 4GB of RAM is far cheaper than a new Mac, and to boot, there are enough tutorials online (which Steve would read regardless of Mac/PC editing anyways) to help him get started.

Just a cheaper alternative imho.

BTW I see where you're coming from on this - it's the same aversion I have to the people who've lost 50lbs and now consider themselves experts on the subject of weight loss... and what worked for them -- they assume will work for everyone else..

I'm ot sure I"m any better... I'm not an expert - this I know, I have a lot to learn and I'm trying to learn it -and apply it... but I'd also like to think that me sharing my experience and offering up what worked for me has some value...

There was a post by someone yesterday, who shall remain nameless, who was trying to convince someone else that weight lifting had no value when it came to losing weight -that it should be all cardio all the time... and when I see comments like that - it jsut makes me want to scream and thro wthings -the person that the advice was being given to - was doing things right -and now was beginning to doubt their efforts... I'm sure the person offereing the advice didn't mean any harm by it - becuase all cardio all the time seemed to work for them - It was just bad advice..

I'm sure I've dished out some bad advice during my tenure on this forum.. but at the time -i wasn't aware that it was bad...
