Journey, Not A Destination

Steve, Damn your diary moves fast. I feel like the kid in class who has his hand raised and by the time it gets to me the teacher has changed the subject.

For the video editing.

Adobe Premiere is the way to go if you can swing the budget. I think Pro is around 700.00. If you are going to be doing it on a continuous basis it may be worth the money. I believe they have an "Economy" version as well.

KOP Mall is right around the corner.... one of the best malls on the east coast and I do go there frequently, considering the shopper that I'm not. I might have to check it out.

I am supremely jealous. I miss that mall... I don't think I've been there since 2006?

Oh, btw, good morning:)

It's a cool place for sure. I do most of my shopping anymore at a new outlet center that opend up between where I live and KOP now. It's also a great place.

I think it's called Philadelphia Premium Outlets or something like that.

Oh, btw, good morning:)

Thanks, you too. :)

Good Morning wise one. :)

Look at what I got!

I was hoping you'd be able to suggest some things for me to get the most out of it? ;)

It has 8 levels of resistance.

I was thinking one way I could use it is to use my 5 lb. dumbbells.

Cycle at a moderate pace while curling my arms with DB.

Would that be good?

Any other thoughts?

Have A Goal Reachin' Tuesday!

Are those the ones in Limerick? I have a friend who lives in Manayunk who has been raving about them...good to hear it from someone else :)

I'd just as sooner focus on intensity. If you get steady state under your belt, bring in some interval training.

Yup, right in Limerick. I've been there quite a few times actually. They have a Nike and Under Armor outlet I like.

Sorry to butt in Steve but I have a question that did not warrant its own thread.

I have been unable to do any upper body WT for a week and will most likely not be able to for an additional 1 or 2 due to hand surgery. I was making some real good strides and am just wondering how I may have given back in a 2-3 week period. Percentage wise, not exact obviously.

Any insight you have regrading this would be helpful.

Thank you

just stopping by to see how your holding up on your diet....your almost done!!

I actually took a day to refeed myself in the middle... couldn't handle it with the schedule I'm maintaining at the moment. But thanks for checking in. Weight is pretty steady at 189-190 but there seems to be some nice recomp going on.

How long have you been hitting the weights prior?

About 3 months.
I was going pretty hard for the last 2-2.5 months. The first few weeks were just machines to get back into the groove.
Not much for the previous 13 years but I di have phyisical jobs- carpenter, HVAC installer, fixture installer- for the previous 10 years or so.

Dang, I just used it and man does that hurt yer butt. lol

I think I could have stayed on longer but it felt like it was about to fall off.

Maybe I should pick up some depends to wear for cushion? :D

Wonder why they don't make the seats more comfy?

Kinda silly if ya ask me. :toetap05:

I wouldn't be too concerned.... you'll probably lose some percentage of strength but it's impossible to put an exact % on that as everyone responds differently to training and detraining.

I would drop the intensity a bit once you get back in. A lot of people have the tendency to jump right back in where they left off and that's a surefire way to over-do it.

I'd start at something like 75% of what you were doing.

Thanks Steve. :)

That stinks, it has an uncomfy seat. The bikes at my gym have nice soft and big ass cushions. Maybe there's some way you can rig it to make it more comfy. Or just stuff pillows down your pants. :p

Good luck with that injury. I imagine it'll set you back even more so in certain exercises depending on when it hurts (e.g., gripping/pressing).

Thanks. It actually should not be too big of a deal. The surgery was to remove a mass at the base of my index finger, about the size of a big gum ball.
It had been growing for years but never affected much. I am hoping the incision is in the same general location- if it is it will not affect much, I will need to buy gloves though. I do not want to be a glove guy but I will need to be.
