Journey, Not A Destination

Happy New Year! :D

Glad you enjoyed the holidays. Loved your pics. I'm terribly unphotogenic, and my H is very much so-- not fair! I agree.

Sorry to hear about your friend. I don't get suicide either. I think one has to be in a VERY low place, and not quite sane to do it. A few years ago I was out at a house I had listed, when the neighbor stopped by to fix the homeowner's car. He was as happy and nice as could be. Later on that same night he shot himself in the head, leaving behind a wife and 2 or 3 kids. I never would've guessed that he was about to kill himself. He seemed so happy. I've heard that people tend to put things in order before they do themselves in, and are quite jovial before they do it b/c they've finally made the decision. He had promised the neighbor he'd fix her car, so I guess he thought he'd better get it done. Very, very sad for the people left behind.

On a happier note, Sheryl will be back in one week!:party:

WOW, you are certainly braver then myself. I would never take on a website that needs that much information. GOOD FOR YOU! I have no doubt it will be a good one, once all is said and done! With all the knowledge you have, and experience, it should be a piece of cake.

Thanks Kim. It's my passion so it's nothing but joy. I'll be happy when the initial leg work is over though.

Oh and I feel the same way about my hubby, he NEVER takes a bad picture, and I can't take a good one to save my soul.
damn it!
Hugs
Kim

Damn beautiful people!

Bastards!

LOL. :p

I'm so sorry to hear that horrible news Steve.

Thanks Stacy.

I agree with everyone, the pic of you guys is wonderful.

You both look awesome!

Thanks again. :)

LOL..RE: my lil forum.

It's growing.

I started it bc I chat here and there at the BL board which kinda stinks.

It's unorganized and they don't even offer journal space or true support.

A few friends I made there wanted a place so I have experience with forum building/designing, so I made a space for everyone.

It has turned out nice and very supportive.

You are more than welcome to join!
Boy Howdy, your help/knowledge would be awesome.

I know yer super busy though and most likely can't do that. ;)

You may not like the "cuteness" of it all either.

It scared the hell out of Sheryl! :p

Haha, yea, I can see that scaring Sheryl.

I'll sign up.... not promising I'll post much but what's another forum!? :p

Wow, that is sad.

This, believe it or not, is the 4th guy I know to commit suicide since high school, all graduating with me or a year before or after me. And I only graduated high school in 99!

2 shot themselves, 1 drove into on coming traffic, and 1 stuffed his tail pipe in his garage.

Very, very sad. I mean obviously they have to be in a low place, but they definitely have to have some stuff going on psychologically/chemically. I mean, any sane person would make change instead of end everything.

Rough.

Sheryl, schmeryl.

She's a geek.

:p

Sorry I missed this earlier...
Pretty crazy day today..... found out one of the guys I grew up with shot and killed himself yesterday, sadly, leaving behind a wife and a little girl. We grew up as neighborhood friends and eventually worked together for a few years on a farm. I hadn't seen him in a long while until he dropped by a party my friend was having a few weeks back.

Tough for the people who are left behind... left with lots of questions and no answers... I hope his family and friends find peace quickly and not left with blame or guilt... People are going to do what they're going to do... and when a person makes te choice to end their life... well -it's solely on them...

Hope you're new year picks up..

Thanks Mal, it has no choice but to pick up.

As a positive, training with Peter today was great. He seems very motivated and with the right 'push' from me, I think he'll do well.

It's amazing.... he can't figure out why he's been gaining weight. I asked him what he eats on average.... when he told me I said, "there's no way you are gaining weight on that diet."

He then added the fact that he drinks between 5-10 beers per night.

Duh.

I'm so sorry about your friend!

Thank you for stopping by my diary and giving my workout the stamp of approval! I really didn't know what I was doing as far as picking a routine... I was just trying to change things up and challenge myself!

You'll be happy to know that I did it again today, but I pushed myself even harder. I burned more calories and went a further distance! Yes, I know the counters on machines are unreliable, but it can't be a bad thing when both numbers go up, right?!

:D

Good for you!

Nice to hear you're starting the new year off on a good foot. :)

Dear Steve, how can I do sit ups with this big belly of mine? Its so hard for me to make a beginning. Can you recommend some exercises besides sit ups to get me started?

LMAO! Must be he blacked out after drinking them and that's why he failed to mention them at first. :D

Hi Steve!
Thank for your post in my diary.
I'm really impressed by all the help you give the people on this forum. You are a very generous person. And a very intelligent one, for sure, 'cause you treat us with so much respect. Many of us need it more than anything else because if you're fat sometimes other people think they have a right to mock you or despise you.

I think I might ask for your help now and then!

Have a great day!

Although core strength is important.... I'd worry more about the other, compound exercises.

That said, how are you doing your sit-ups. I much prefer crunches which look something like this:

You'll notice a much shorter range of motion than that of a full sit-up.

Other abdominal exercises that you can try are:

Hiya India, and thanks for the very kind words. :)

Yea, I think you'll find I'm not one to mock. Judging someone based on their size is just about the last thing I'll do.

Again, welcome to the community and feel free to message me anytime.

Take care.

HA!! You surely don't believe that do you?

OK,, so you mock the wannabe experts who deserve mocking :) but youu do indeed mock :D (not that there's anything wrong with that :D

Oh yeah and as much as I hate the driveby - -

Good morning... on this chilly chilly day... though mr weatherman says it's gonna be 50 this weekend - we're having a heat wave.. beats 5 degrees...

Context Mal!

:p

I was going to add a line about the mocking of the moronic gurus that venture in here.....

In that context, I certainly do mock.

Yea, I saw it will be close to 70 here next week.

Crazy stuff!

Hahaha, trust me. I am well aware of the lack of innocence found in me.

True and good intentions. But not always conveyed in an innocent manner, that's for damn sure!
