Journey, Not A Destination

Something like that. I don't remember the specifics, but I remember contestants holding on for dear life while gladiators hung from them, trying to pull them down.

yeah that's it :)

truly sad the things that my brain can remember but ask me to do the important stuff.. fughettaboutit... :D

Whats even worse is that you were probably 5 when that show was first on... it was ok for cute little tykes to watch the show -I was kinda - not 5 - yet can remember it quite well :)

I don't remember how old I was.

But speaking of.... has anyone here watched pros vs. joes? James, we should go on that show.

Brothers from college went on and won.... they won money and cars.

Never heard of it... is it the same concept as gladiators?

That's funny you can lift full but not drunk. Alcohol is such an unmotivator.

Anyway, Hi, I'm back and I'm starting over. Had computer troubles plus general slacking off. Rested on my laurels, felt I had accomplished something losing twenty pounds and quit my program. Now ten pounds have crept back on and my clothes barely fit. Uggh.

Anyway, Just wanted to say hi and get back in touch with some buddies.

Howdy Steve,

Hope your holidays went well, bro!

Thanks Trevor.

They were very busy with family but definitely well. I had people staying at my house.... when that's the case, there's no rest for the weary.

Lot's good food, good conversation, and lot's of gift exchanging.

Went by fast.

Now onto New Years.

It's more sport oriented. Where Gladiators has all kinds of crazy events, PvsJ is more about real sports.

Definitely not as cool of a show but interesting nonetheless.

I don't watch it but I'd certainly compete in it.

Glad to see ya back around!

A lot of people do that; they lose weight, feel accomplished, and slack off.

What that should tell you is a) you need to have a better understanding of what maintenance is, b) you need to keep in mind why losing said weight was so important and is anything worth putting it back on?

I could think of a few more letters, but you catch my drift.

What I meant by that statement is, most people don't think about what they will do once they reach their goal. Not spending any time to 'mentally program' how you'll think and behave when this happens is a fatal error for most.

And it doesn't even have to be for those who reached their goals.

The same can be said for those who have lost enough weight to satisfy their interest in continuing the 'lifestyle.'

Without said 'mental programming' in place, once you reach your goal or this *satisfaction point*, most revert back to a way of eating and living that is conducive to being the way you were before you lost the weight.

You spend a lot of time focusing on a goal, and that's the extent of your 'mental programming.' And that's the equivalent to a destination-mentality. What's the title of my journal again?

If you solely focus on the destination, what happens when you reach it? Once you reach it, what exists in your mind to make you *maintain* what you've accomplished?

The answer is nothing.

And that's why you revert back to your old habits.

All I'm saying is you have to dig a little deeper and instead of solely focusing on said desitination.... spend some time focusing on what you'll do when you reach a place you're happy with in terms of physique and weight.
