Hey, Down 2 inches!!!!!! That is fabulous!!!! Good job keep doing what you are doing!!

2 inches down in the waist is super fantastic!!:party::party:

Your pants must be fitting looser with that much of a change!

I'm glad you're feeling a bit better. Keep pushing those fluids--they'll help flush it out of ya sooner. :)

Tomatoes are good for brekkie. My H loves them with bacon and eggs. :D

Congratulations Jillzy, on the inches lost on your waist!! And you know, it really is a big thing, not trivial at all!! That's what you're doing this for!

Wow, I'm so proud and happy for you!!

soemone yesterday commented

"have you lost weight?"

yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!

uh oh, wanted to add here (to keep myself honest) I gained three pounds!!! UH OH

mustve been those...

fish sticks! hot cocoas!!

when im sick, I dont eat healthy (mental note for the future!)

but im not sick now! so back on the plan!!!!!

The majority of those 3lbs is water retention. A day of being back on track, and the scale will go down again. :)

Having people notice you've lost weight is a HUGE ego boost. I had to drop 30lbs before anyone started noticing. Nice job!!

yay, scale was back down today to 201.6!!! Im sooooooooooooooo close!!!!!!!!!

ok, im reading this book about the glycemic index, it makes sooooo much sense, has anyone heard of it?

Its when you have wayyyyyyyy too many high gylcemic carbs and yoou could even be low on your calories and exercising like crazy, but if you dont balance your eating, you will GAIN WEIGHT!!!

..........your body keeps producing insulin and has to eat away at the high glycemic foods while your body stores FAT..... UGH

popcorn is high glycemic, as are baked potatoes in the microwave...BUT when you cook them in the oven, they are medium index! weird huh?

The book suggests you eat:

40% of your diet as carbs, 30% protein and 30% fat

Im going to try this....

I love learning about nutrition, I feel like a school girl! :sifone:

I love that about this forum! And now I'm finding the summer solstice challenge is adding a definite boost to my motivation about the scales! You lost - despite your illness related troubles!! Yay!! Go Blue Team and go Jillzy!!

Nope I never did - they are mostly smaller though - so there's less avocado in them!! You have had me looking them up now and I'm thinking they are a bit unpredictable - this book says they have less fat, if they are from early in the season. I wonder when the "season" is? Even if we got that right locally we would have to find out which country our avocado came from!! :D :ack2: :D and then it says that not all the fat in an avocado is absorbed by the body - like is the late season fat the bit that's not absorbed ...:rolleyes: :D

yoou could even be low on your calories and exercising like crazy, but if you dont balance your eating, you will GAIN WEIGHT
Well if you eat less calories than you burn, you will not gain weight. Low GI foods are really useful to know about though. It's fascinating that you are finding out these things about them. The GI of the foods you eat can have a big impact on your hormones as you say, and I find it's additionally important for me to take account of them, because the changes in blood sugar strongly affect how I feel and also my appetite!

How exciting that you have lost 2 whole inches from your waist!! That is truly wonderful news! It "sounds like" heaps!! and that's because it is!
